This is the third (very, very late) bi-monthly update post on how our favorite Chinese ex-Kpop idols are doing! Info and image heavy so get comfortable and click below!

First off, his MV for his latest song July was released. It reached 2 million views within a day and became the fastest MV of a Chinese artist to reach those views! It's at 9 million views now. He also released a practice video for his dance solo at his birthday concert!

Kris also released a music documentary. It shows how passionate he is in what he's doing. Also included is 'Between Us', a birthday special for fans.

He somehow managed to convince top actor Tony Leung, Tiffany Tang and an entire film crew to do the mannequin challenge. The video quickly got viral on Miaopai and is now at almost 40 million views! His video became a hot topic and made the news and prompted tons of people to do the challenge using "July" as the BGM including celebrities and athletes. Here's a thread of videos of people doing it. (On the subject of "July", it's doing well and topping several charts in China! It even made it to a couple of SiriusXM charts in the US)

His collaboration with Burberry is finally revealed! He curated 5 looks for the brand and he's featured pretty much everywhere. You can see the "Kris Wu Edit" here and in all Burberry websites.

You can see him in the flagship store near SM too from what I've heard.

Burberry's CEO and chief creative director went to Beijing to host an event celebrating their collaboration! They practically made their Chinese stores a Kris store.

When asked about his thoughts on being the new face of Burberry, Kris said:

"I am so thrilled to be officially joining the Burberry Family. "Burberry is such a great British brand which has this amazing combination of heritage and innovation. I was given full freedom with this collaboration, and it has been a really incredible experience."

Christopher Bailey also revealed why he chose Kris:

"Kris is a modern day artist who works seamlessly across all these different worlds from music, to fashion to film, which really resonates with us as a brand and which inspired me to want to work together. He loves fashion and takes a lot of pleasure in dressing well, so it really has been a privilege to work with Kris on this very special collaboration."

He has two covers for the December issue of Elle Men! He's the first young actor to be on the cover of the top 5 men's magazines in China. (GQ, Esquire, Elle Men, Bazaar Men, L'Officiel Hommes).

Kris also participated in an event with Smart since he is their brand ambassador. During the livestream, he managed to sell 174 smart cars!




 Months ago, his limited edition Kris Smart car also sold out in 25 seconds (around 180 cars). It's a fun video because he's picking up people who are looking for an uber and they have no idea they would be meeting him.

It's hard to follow Jia tbh unless you're familiar with Weibo. She does a lot of stuff (like promo for her song) but it rarely gets posted internationally. Her company should do something about that (like post more videos of her on their YT channel).

The Yang Mi thing is a MESS omg. She's married to Hawick Lau and Hawick Lau is filming a movie or drama with another actress. A very infamous paparazzi followed them and left cameras outside their hotel rooms (they filmed outside of Beijing so they had to stay in hotels) and then posted that Hawick went into his co-star's room very late in the night and didn't come out for 4 hours. Yang Mi came out to say she trusts her husband and this paparazzi is known for creating a mess but it's still such a huge deal and such a blow on his rep and his co-star's rep, not to mention the mental stress Yang Mi must be going through because this became a national topic.

I think it's wise for them to wait a bit until his other movies come out. He is well known in China but it isn't easy fronting a movie (he's the first lead in EOI) and it would be better to release it after he gets more visibility especially since the movie isn't a really popular genre (I think it's a thriller romance?).

I remember she and Tao had that stupid mini-scandal involving a cat in 2013 haha. It's sad that they don't seem to have kept in touch though.

July has me thirsting for his album, I'm so glad they're doing well and they have proved that they were more than right to get the frick away from SM/Exo. I wish more stars had the courage to leave, because you can see sometimes that some of them are not happy, I get that it's "easier" if you're a foreigner and have another market to go to but still, wish the entertainment industry would stop being such a dictatorship.

Yeah it's unfortunate that for a lot of these idols, there are no other options. They spent so much of their youth being trainees and didn't go to university so they have a hard time choosing a different career too if they wanna leave the ent industry in general.
