B1A4 has finished giving their statements to the police about the recent “SNL Korea” sexual assault controversy, according to a report by Dispatch.

A source from the Seoul, Mapo police station said on December 2, “December 1, the B1A4 members submitted written statements about what happened.” The source was unable to disclose what exactly they said, as the investigation is in its beginning stages.

INFINITE and Block B will also be speaking to police, as videos of the two groups being subjected to the same actions as B1A4 had surfaced following the controversy.

Whether or not Lee Se Young and the other staff members of “SNL Korea” will be summoned for questioning has yet to be decided. Police stated, “Our priority is to determine if there was sexual molestation or not. After talking to the idol groups and examining the videos, we will make a decision.”

According to Dispatch, in the case that Lee Se Young is found guilty, she could receive a punishment of up to 10 years in prison or a fine of 15 million won (approximately $12,800).

This is really not surprising, though. Victims of sexual assault are very often called liars or are accused of overreacting or misinterpreting the situation.

Just a few weeks ago Johnny Depp was accused of violently assaulting his now ex-wife Amber Heard She had all the receipts - the bruises on her face, statements of eye-witnesses and even a fucking video. And while Depp had to pay her money in the end (which she donated to a shelter for abuse victims, btw), she was and is still called a liar.

Things like sexual assault are not taken very seriously in the West often enough and in East Asia it's even worse (I'm saying this as a Japanese woman).

i understand that. and i think the victims here won't be called liars since it's even the public who reported that.
i'm just really bothered that they probably will ask the boys how they feel. and i'm afraid the idols would be pressured to not offend anyone and said they're ok with that, just like jinyoung said in that statement.

Ah, I see. And I agree, I'm also afraid that the victims are going to downplay the whole thing.

I honestly don't have a proper response to this.
like, I should've known that they'd call the boys liars, but the statement was still an unpleasant surprise .

shitty statement but good that they're investigating the show.

now can we have an investigation into the molestation/sexual abuse that no doubt permeates the entire fucking industry?

imo any of those groups would be collaborating with the investigation if they think it was just a joke

this wasnt fans overracting ... all af them felt something wrong and i feel like public reaction help them to realise they were the victims here

i'm glad police is taking this case and i hope more idols collaborate without fear of been blacklisted or whatever by tvn

I don't think they really have a choice to not collaborate though... but I'm not a lawyer or anything

if that's the case .... then every single one idol that have been on the show will be interrogated

after two seasons i cant imagine that will turn out in nothing good

I believe the police will probably contact every artist that had the video posted.

I want to believe they won't downplay what happened on fear of what the public will think of them or backlash from tvn/mnet. I really do.

Really can't believe this shit show is letting one person take responsibility.

In any case, I hope the the guys are honest about being uncomfortable with what happened, but I feel like their companies might advise them to say it was a joke so they won't be banned or anything. And that's just sad.

honestly i watched like enough of one video to see one person going for crotches because just that upset me too much so can anyone tell me if it was JUST lee seyoung that was touching the idols inappropriately or if anyone else was doing it too? cuz i guess if there's only video footage of her doing it then it would make sense for her to be punished but i highly doubt that's the case...i wonder if it'd be possible for all the staff to get in trouble for being compliant

I'm glad that they're taking this seriously and not forgetting about the other groups too.

I hope that the guys don't feel pressured to downplay the event, I mean the crime is very clear from all videos and I've rewatched the Block B one several times and their discomfort is extremely apparent. It wasn't okay, they weren't okay with it and she should be dealt with. But I hope SNL as a whole faces consequences, they're being little bitches by throwing the one woman to the wolves while they hide away.
