The Mapo Police have stated that they received, on November 30 KST, the case revolving around comedienne Lee Se Young and the “SNL Korea” sexual assault controversy. It was submitted by E-People, a service that handles petitions, proposals, and policies submitted by the public.

The date for questioning Lee Se Young has not been set yet, with initial investigations still ongoing. The police are unable to comment any further regarding the case, including whether B1A4 will be questioned.

FNC Entertainment, Lee Se Young’s management, stated that they did not receive any communication from the police as of yet, but they will diligently cooperate with the investigation.

Both Lee Se Young and “SNL Korea” have apologized, with B1A4 and their agency also officially responding to the situation, but as it is clear that this is more than a case of “inappropriate behavior,” it seems the incident will be officially investigated by the police as a criminal act.

Lee Se Young To Indefinitely Leave “SNL Korea”

While it was previously reported she would not be departing from the show, comedienne Lee Se Young will be leaving tvN’s “SNL Korea” in light of the show’s recent sexual assault controversy.

Producers of the show stated on December 1,”After much discussion, we have agreed to honor Lee Se Young’s wish to [leave and] take this time to reflect,” but left the possibility of a future return open.

Hopefully they won't make LSY take responsibility for the whole incident alone...

I can't at them using her as a scapegoat when some of the staff also participated

Apparently the staff on this show has a habit to grop idols to make them "relax"
It became obvious with b1a4 and their defense when called out was "we've been doing this for years"

SNL staff had a pre-show tradition of female staff rushing male hosts and grabbing at them to "raise morale".B1A4 was the most recent group involved but there's also videos of Block B, Infinite, Jonghyun and Kim Minsuk being groped. They posted the video on.SNS, fans were outraged and SNL staff denied it happened and then it blew up

this whole situation is so ugly.. i doubt anyone but her ever needs to take responsibility for this

getting them to admit any wrong-doing has really been like pulling teeth, so of course no one else will take responsibility until they literally have no other choice. and since the rest of the cast seemed pretty complicit in all this, i really think the only solution i would be even remotely satisfied with is cancellation (which won't happen)

what's most frustrating is, as always, the victims are the ones suffering because of this :/

what she did was not cool, but why is she bearing the brunt of the responsibility when others also participated and higher ups clearly allowed it to happen repeatedly??

This is so unfair and she's one of my fav comedians. sigh.

Seriously? She was apart of it, but It wasn't just her. It's not surprising that higher ups would let someone lower in the chain take the rap for this, they won't even admit to it being sexual harrassment, let alone allowing it to happen.

SNLK knows they're not right for this.

I wasn't a fan of the show's humour but I was happy B1A4 got to go on to kinda shed their cute, targeted at elementary schoolkids image especially with this comeback but I wish they hadn't gone on at all. On the other hand, if their bts video was never released then we wouldn't have known other groups/celebs had to suffer the same harassment. Sigh. I just hate that this is gonna follow them for the considerable future. Meanwhile, the show's reps refuse to take responsibility and just take the damn program off air and adequately punish those involved.

the show's been posting videos of these 'greetings' for a while now, it just so happened that the b1a4 video was the one to set things off

At this point shouldnt they just take the show off air? It's not even funny; or is it just me?

So they gonna act like she was the only one? Come on now.....cough up the others involed as well.

Could it be that because you can clearly make her out in the video that's why they are throwing mostly her to the wovles?

Glad it's not put under the rug. But angry that they're only investigating about b1a4's case when there are videos of other groups. Also, using her as scapegoat, I see.

Only focusing on one perpetrator and one victimized group is not getting to the root of the problem

The response from SNL continues to be a mess I see.

The unwillingness to get to the root of the problem is unsurprising but I wish all of the sexual harassment was acknowledged and that other people besides this one person were being punished.

I mean I'm glad one assaulter gets some actual consequences, but... Like always, this does nothing to address the wider culture that allowed this to happen for YEARS and none of the higher ups who either sanctioned or turns their heads will suffer for this, like always. (Also fully addressing this would mean looking at fandom culture where similar shit goes on and idols, especially the male ones, are there for them to harass, stalk, take pictures of so up close that you can see inside their pores, and grab physically.)

good they're taking this case to the justice ..... then they will realise she wasnt the only one to blame

the whole staff is gross, supporting and encouraging this "welcoming ritual" since the first episode

just cancel this damn show, you will save lots of drama

ugh she's not the only one who needs to get punished rme but i guess now at least this doesn't get swept under a rug. hopefully it's not just noise and the police do look into it

Hopefully they won't make LSY take responsibility for the whole incident alone...

This is exactly whats going to happen. She's the chosen fall person so she'll take the brunt of the heat and SNL continues will continue to air. In a few weeks most casual watchers will forget this incident & go back to enjoying the show like nothing happen. I'd like to be proven wrong ofc but I don't expect it.

From: [identity profile] rosiemotleymind.livejournal.com
Yup you're correct this is what always happens. Unless another fandom doesn't cause more waves everyone is going to forget about this instead of opening a discussion to change the way idols are treated.

Pretty much, so while it's good in some ways that this is all out in the world now, everything in SNL will go back to normal and this incident will be forgotten. The root of the problem will still be there...

so the whole institution of SNL Korea encouraged this yet she's gunna be the only one punished for this huh...huh who is surprised by the tunnel vision and laziness and obvious lack of interest in protecting people.

I couldn't watch the videos, but from what I heard she wasn't the only one involved. I'm guessing they're shielding the others. SNL Korea ain't shit.

Yep and they've only "apologized" to B1A4 when Infinite and Block B also had videos floating around at the same time.

Okay that's good but in Block B's video you can see damn near the whole staff rushing up to them, and all of the staff laughing at it, so SNL washing their hands and letting the one comedian take the fall is just dirty. Not to mention, they still haven't addressed the other celebrities that they've wronged.

Well... I guess they're going to make her an example with SNL facing no real consequences... ugh.
