Pann: Idol who became really arrogant

1. [+222, -13] We don't know him

2. [+163, -10] Lay's Weibo and Instagram profile picture is still the South China Sea. Is he fucking blind? I've never seen someone who puts their hands in pockets when winning an award.

3. [+157, -7] I'm sorry, Sangdoo has no manners

4. [+62, -2] I'm sorry, he's a traitor and he doesn't know how to behave

5. [+60, -10] TOP also put his hands in pockets when he was saying his winning speech ㅋㅋㅋ

6. [+54, -2] I'm an EXO fan. Before the controversies, I thought Lay was kind but he's becoming more and more arrogant. Was he always like this?

7. [+48, -3] Food Xing needs to wake up. He even stole food from a kid who was 4 years younger than him. He needs to leave the group.

8. [+37, -2] He's a Chinese solo artist though? What is he doing there?

9. [+35, -2] Please call him a solo artist instead of an idol

10. [+32, -0] Jang Hyunseung of EXO. Oh, he's also Jang, Zhang Yixing.

Is this a big no-no in Korean culture? The reactions seem OTT but I know Asian respect is a huge thing (I am Asian, just not Korean)

Also, "10. [+32, -0] Jang Hyunseung of EXO. Oh, he's also Jang, Zhang Yixing."

When exo appear on Infinity Challenge, Yoo Jaesuk ask Park Myungsoo to shake hands with exo while greet them by their name (bcs YJS knows PMS didnt know exo name beside chanyeol and suho). So after chanyeol and suho he just blurt out random name to other thus Lay = Sangdoo

Is that a cultural thing? Because I don't get it...but even if he was disrespectful by Korean cultural standards, that's no justification for the racist comments, obviously. smh at netizens who can't call someone out for being disrespectful without being way more offensive. Way to lose the moral high ground.

i totally agree that netizens are batshit and overreact. i'm not korean but it's a cultural thing i'm guessing because the taiwanese side of family was against it. so it's possible that it could also be a big deal in sk. growing up, boys were reprimanded if they had their hands in their pockets when speaking to adults or facing someone like say a teacher or giving a presentation to a client. my parents would also get mad at me if i had jacket/pants pockets and did the same thing while speaking to them. it's a small thing, but it can make it look like you're not interested in the conversation or it can look like you think you're above the conversation/the person you're interacting with. given that this is a /work/ event and lay is facing the public, it could be a big deal for some? like i'd shake my head at it but i wouldn't banish him or nuthin. iirc netizens also got mad at another idol for doin the same thing. but netizens get mad at everything lol.....

yawn fans y'all are make my head hurt.
sure I don't like men who have hands in their pants but that's just me, if you are in the workplace it gives me lazy fucker vibes.
This isn't a reason to escort a man to the airport fuck off netizens/fans alike.

Funny isn't it, now they are bashing him. But when he really leaves, the same people are crying `oppa, don't go' `traitor' etc. knetz should really make up their freaking mind.

Even if it's seen as disrespectful from a cultural standpoint, a simple "that was disrespectful of him, I hope he takes more care in the future". It's not a mistake worthy of outrage.

But of course all these xenophobes and racists will take any opportunity to sling hateful rhetoric at people.

lol
when i watched this originally i was like "just take out your hands from your pockets for a moment pls at least"
i don't think it's only a korean thing.... in much of europe this is also seen disrespectful, although it maybe a business etiquette thing, so might not be applied to artists.

made me wonder if he had cuts on his hands or his trousers were too big or he was really just tired and didn't give a fuck about it all. probably the last one, he didn't even want to speak during the interview.

Sangdoo is kind of nickname he got from exo appearance on infinity challenge. Copy from my reply above:

Yoo Jaesuk ask Park Myungsoo to shake hands with exo while bid them goodbye by their name (bcs YJS knows PMS didnt know exo name beside chanyeol and suho). So after chanyeol and suho he just blurt out random name to other thus Lay = Sangdoo

This kind of thing would usually read as arrogant or too nonchalant if you're accepting an award. I get that and I grew up in North America.
