EXO were at the Asia Artist Awards, and thus so were crazy fucking fansite admins. Unsurprisingly, they were wildin’ out to get the best pictures of EXO.

Security? They don’t give a fuck about security. Just bum rush the seats in the front and ignore those bitches.

The same appeared to apply for giving a shit about getting right in the faces of the idols or blocking the views for the audience. The aisle is their seat, dammit.

Most importantly, they weren’t afraid to use other idols’ heads as part of their camera’s tripod, as captured by MAMAMOO and SEVENTEEN fansites.

I would say I’m surprised, but nobody is surprised. In fact, I’m only surprised they didn’t stand up in front of everybody at the base of the stage to take pictures and instead actually just rushed the seats.

I love how, to my non-fandom coworkers, I just seem like some crazy stan because I rep BoA so much and I'm like "y'all don't know how crazy some of them fans can be!!!!"

me tbh

I take leave to watch SJ concerts, I'm practically known as that crazy Kpop fangirl.
Clearly they haven't been in a standing pit of a Kpop concert.

Security? They don’t give a fuck about security

this was my question. how do they get past security? here in the states they would not get past the front door unless they hide the cameras very discreetly, but then they'd get kicked out anyways.

Maybe they can enter with the cameras and the problem was that later they went to other seats/areas that weren't supposed to so they can take pics.

Like the "reporting" got more important than the actual happening itself?!

I don't know much about these award shows but can't they hire professional photographers?

I'm pretty sure award shows in the US/UK do. It would be much more comfortable and better for the artists.

Spend more money on security and less on revolving triangles.

There is also probably the normal news reporters/photographers taking pics, but the fansites go by their own, and if it wasn't those big cameras it would be their phones or anything else, they are hard to stop.

I don't know how Wheein just didn't slap the camera off the girl getting there, well I do know why she didn't but I don't know if I would have that patience.
To make it worst, the public was mostly BTS and EXO's fans so when any other group performed that wasn't them the silence was quite awkward, to the point that when Jin Wook accepted his award he asked the public to cheer for everyone (and also asking to improve the show for the next time lol).

I have to admit I'm not much of a fan of fansites, I don't need a thousand pics of my faves every day and from everywhere they go.

lol @ 'never don't mind about a thing'

but lbr, fansites are such a weird thing anyway... aren't most of them sasaengs? or at least stalkers, since a lot of them update WHEREVER the groups go. there are some that only update every now and then, but they are the exception.

In the beginning of their Lotto performance, you can hear people shouting for them to sit down too lol

I've been in the middle of fansites like 3-4 times now, and it never ceases to amaze me. My poor friend who was not as temperamental as me had them crawling all over her cause they wanted to use her seat, had another friend literally trip over their stupid stools they bring around to take pictures too. Idk people are too wild for me, I don't have the patience for it. I literally shoved anyone who tried to use me as a tripod or tried to come for my seat lmao, don't play.

Idk if it's because some of them were there to take pictures of NCT too? I'm guessing some of them are running sites for more than one group, so this event was like a 'gold mine' for them. They are most likely taking pictures for others who couldn't make it too. I guess they're gearing up for new photobooks/calendars to make the money flow again.

can't stand these assholes, as well as those fans who seem to think it's absolutely needed to film every second of their fave member's existence. we were at coex three weeks ago with my much older colleague and there was still that thing with bts on the screens. basically, it's in the corridor of a mall and there were lots of schoolgirls filming the screens and they were GLARING at people who dared to walk through the corridor. my colleague has no clue about these things and he was like: "why are they filming a screen? and why do they look so hostile??"
it's the same during concerts, you can't even see stage, only other people's phones. so rude.

Was this in Korea? Because if it was I'm not surprised they got away with it. Security here is a joke. It doesn't exist. If there were security they were just doing what all security does in Korea: being totally useless.

yeah, it was held in korea. it's a new award show, so that is probably also why there were so many problems.

Never don't mind about a thing tag. Yas HunHun. Lol.

That's just rude, and unfortunately people will continue to associate this behavior with EXO. I can't imagine someone putting a camera above my head like I'm not a whole ass person sitting down. And then not being able to do anything about it. That's the more frustrating part, you can't turn around and pop a mf in the mouth.

Is this the first time this award show happened? Did they not organise the event past the list of attendees and awards to be given out smh. I feel so bad for Seventeen and MMM they really had to keep it together and not get mad at these fansite nims we all know the consequences of getting into a fight with a fan

That's so disrespectful. What fandom(s) are they from? Maybe their beloved oppa can have a word with them. I bet the idols being photographed are embarrassed that their fans are disrupting the event and disrespecting their co-workers, it reflects poorly on them. This is why I used to enjoy EXO when they first debuted and now I keep my distance, the fandom just got too out of control, I was embarrassed to be associated with them tbh.

EDIT: lol okay now I get it, they were EXO fansites. Surprise, surprise, kpop's most problematic fandom.

:// i'm surprised but shouldn't be. fansites' entitlement can be bizarre. a friend of mine once told me that she went to a fanmeeting, paid a lot of money for a front row seat, and one fansite came up to her expecting her to give up her seat for them...

Why doesn't the organization kick them out? It seems like these awards are specifically made for the fansites to go and take photos. They need to regulate these kind of things and not let the fans do whatever they want wtf
