you forgeting she got into a scandal for not knowing korean history properly, isn't hard to believe she doesn't know about stuff out of her culture. To me is odd not many koreans are fluent in english I mean in other asian countries we see a lot of celebrities and they don't struggle to comunicate with ifans. As foreigner I can only guess stuff but doesn't seem like they are very aware.

Saying that as a non fan of them just thinking about the whole situation in general, their society seems odd sometimes to me is way too different.

A lot of people are praising Aoa fans for not attacking her and explaining nicely to her why it's wrong which probably has more do to with the fact that aoa doesn't have the biggest international fan base. I get that sending death threats and things are wrong but I need people to stop policing how minorities respond to things especially something as tiring as having to explain over and over why someone shouldn't use the n-word cuz even when it is explained ppl still want to use it. If someone says they are done with an idol cuz they did or said something offensive that's on them. If someone is upset with an idol but are still fans of that idol it's not up to you to decided rather or not they are a true fan cuz you yourself are treating them like kids and felt fans where being too harsh. So sick of Kpop fans to be honest.

Regardless I do think intent matters and it's clear she didn't mean to use it and she apologized without making excuses which is more than I can say for most idols.

it's good that she/whoever comanages her instagram account were quick on the uptake
i hope someone's explained it to her/she's looked up the history of the word & why it's bad, to avoid any similar situations in the future. enough idols have had controversies like this, you'd think understanding of not using the word would start to spread

The amount of times idols have shown their asses and said the n-word and then apologize about it to only go back on their word has happened far too many times for me to even pay attention to her apology. I'll accept it for what it is, but I'm skeptical because I have to be.

I think most Koreans think the n word is like 'hyung', a word that black people use for each other out of fondness/friendship because that's the main context they see it in. my Korean friends were ignorant of its origins but I'm just basing this off my experiences
