In the teaser, you see Lee Min Ho’s character (Heo Joon Jae), a con artist, trying to figure out why Jun Ji Hyun is the way she is, asking if she came from the jungle or if she is a werewolf girl when she growls at fishes in a tank. Viewers are also teased with the beginnings of romance between the two characters who are linked by the past, with Jun Ji Hyun’s character having met Lee Min Ho’s lookalike during the Joseon dynasty.

Omona, are you going to watch this drama? Is it going to be MLFAS 2.0: Mermaid version or will it create an even bigger hype? Which lipstick will be sold out this time?

Yes! I'm excited for both dramas for different reasons but since I have a soft spot for school dramas, I'm rooting for Weightlifting Fairy to also have good ratings.

MLFAS 2.0: Mermaid version

I'm fully under the impression that Park Ji Eun basically is reusing the reincarnation stuff she didn't get to use for MLFAS because she got caught plagiarizing. side-eyeing hard

You mean the manhwa writer, who filed a lawsuit against her, right? I don't remember all specific details, but it's hard to believe that she wasn't "inspired" by that manhwa and it was just a "mere coincidence".

yeah and when the drama was on air and already super popular park was all like i can prove that i didn't plagiarize!!! you just want your fifteen minutes of fame by framing me!! and she had tons of drama fans backing her and threatening the manhwa writer (who's like, stan lee of korean scifi manhwa so park's claim was outrageous) to a point that she backtracked briefly but you could tell that midway through the show park dropped the reincarnation stuff (like the hairpin chun song yi finds at the museum and starts tearing up for no reason) and changed the plot that it didn't really make sense anymore
and few months after the drama ended they settled out of court and paid the manhwa writer to drop the case. so... yeah, pretty sure it wasn't really coincidence. and to see this shenanigan again with lobs and with the same actress too... major side eye.

I remember that shady statement! The wording was nagl. I wondered what had happened after the lawsuit, so thank you for your explanation.
Now, it makes sense why she suddenly deviated from the reincarnation story line.

It's sad that she got away w/ it, only b/c of her drama's popularity. Yong Pal's script writer also plagiarised a comic.

Frankly speaking, I only watched MLFAS b/c of Jeon Ji Hyun (and her great sunglasses) and I still haven't watched the last four episodes.
