Date: 2016-10-26 07:36 pm (UTC)people have been complaining about so being ooc but tbh i don't think he is all that much? he's king now and he's gotta play the political game. idt he'd get far without being strict in the 10th century and tbh chaeryung had it coming. him getting married to yeonhwa sucked but was kind of logical as well. he needed the support. i hope he at least play the political game right now and get rid of wook in a satisfactionary manner
the scene between so and his mother tho, damn that was touching. he was so desperate for his mother's love until the end. like i'm sure she was trying to claw at him and he was just like "oh damn she's touching me for the first time" props to lee junki, king of sageuks and acting
also don't forget to vote for lee jun ki in this round of the thirst games #hotking

Date: 2016-10-26 08:14 pm (UTC)i know i should just see it coming whenever they just fast forward a couple of years but i still get annoyed lol. why didn't they just show us what happend to yo or how so got the trone. just a couple of minutes woud've been enough. same with chae ryung. like it took quite a long time for her to get exposed but even then they didn't show us how it all happend. they just let so tell the entire story. i just expected more but i know i shouldn't expect too much.
i know i've been saying week after week how much i hate wook but why aren't they showing him at all. i mean he's planning to take over, he's an ass but important to the story so show him more. btw seeing wook smile at so was so weird. it's been such a long time we've seen him smile so i was a bit caught off guard and scared lol.
oh so. i sort of see why people think his behaviour is normal but you can clearly tell that he's starting to get a bit cray. like the way he's acting towards soo idk it's just weird. but the moment between so and his mother. wow wow wow!! definitely the highlight of this episode. they have such a toxic relationship but i think that moment was sweet in a twisted kind of way.
jung needs to die. hell i'm ready for everyone to die right now.
i don't even know anymore. this drama is driving me crazy so i'm ready for it all to end.

Date: 2016-10-26 08:19 pm (UTC)I don’t know what to think of Wang So anymore.. I really loved him up to this point, but the moment he was crowned he seemed so possessive of HaeSoo and paranoid. And then, there's the complete shift in his character with killing everyone off and exiling Jung (though the flow of the episodes is better in the SBS version so it makes much more sense – Jung actually threatening him etc) – I know it’s because of the lack of time for the character development, but the writers are playing with his psyche a little too much.
I’m coming to understand HaeSoo a bit more.. In the end she is just a girl who wanted her happy ending. A pretty naïve one at that. The scene of the proposal.. Guys, I bowled my eyes out. I had to stop the scene, get some tissues and rewind. That scene was PERFECT. What he said to her, her little smile, teary eyes and saying that she doesn’t have anything to offer him. Followed by Wang So being, again, supper obsessive possessive (which was ofc unnecessary but – ‘’you are my one and only queen’’ was a second blow and it tear my heart right out of my chest). Than the scene where HaeSoo is wearing the bridal dress, just thinking about it now makes me die a bit inside. Btw, I totally excepted the doctor to tell her that she can't have babies, NOT THAT SHE IS DYING. And what's up with everyone ignoring her struggle to breathe? For ex. the acene with Baek Ah at the end of ep.18, he's talking to her and she is obviously not well and all he has to say is: ''please don't make that face. brother is upset'' (ಠ_ಠ)
I felt so bad for Wook when HaeSoo gave him a real, but bullshit excuse for Wang So becoming the king. Poor guy. My pity lasted for a second there, until he went full on revenge.
Idk how anyone can root for Yeonhwa. Like, the girl seems like she is having an orgasm whenever she says I will become the queen, I want to be the queen etc.
The ridiculous editing didn’t miss out this week either. The zoom in on Wook’s face, then the scene where HaeSoo comes to Wang So and he’s sitting on the throne - she is in front of him, at the entrance in the first shot, in the next one she is coming from his right side – for a second there I thought she teleported herself.

From:OST came out this week btw.
Date: 2016-10-26 08:29 pm (UTC)This sole composition deserved a better show. I waited for it since the ep where WangSo enters his mother's chambers #bestsceneintheshow #bestacting #allawardstojunki
Perfection.
This one as well.

Date: 2016-10-26 08:30 pm (UTC)In the end i felt bad for Yo, he realised that his mother used him, she was throwing him out by the end ):
did anyone else see that the kid drowning in the lake in the first episode was Eun?? I was so surprised because i didn't think the writers could do something that genial lmao oh man, my expectations are really low with this drama
and the parallel they created with Yeonhwa and queen Yoo was interesting, like trying to explain what made her so evil and what is going to happen to Yeonhwa if she doesn't change and stop being greedy as fuck (i really don't like her haha)

Date: 2016-10-26 11:57 pm (UTC)I think in term of writing, the writer want to make Wang So as pitiable as possible with all these misfortunes happening to him one after another. He reminds me a lot of Jang Hyuk's character in The Slave Hunter and it scarred me really bad back then. I think Lee Junki gonna face the same thing here. Except, despite going through all the emotional rollercoaster of a character, Jang Hyuk got a Daesang for The Slave Hunter and Junki probably will end with nothing. :(
I thought the revenge So planned for his mother was very satisfying since she truly deserved it after all she did esp using her own children for her own selfish reasons. But despite that, everyone knew how he still yearn for his mother's love which really hurt to see. And again, another ridiculous death. A manipulative and evil queen died of a broken heart? I need more legit reason lol.
And the writing really turn to the worst when the writer made Haesoo turn to Jung for help. This is a character that she wrote who are so ~understanding~ towards So where she keep saying 'I understand... The situation made you that way.. etc.. etc..' but she betrayed him by doing one thing that she know will hurt him the most.
I think the twist of this drama is that Wang So is NOT destined to be a cruel King that kill all his brothers (lets face it, the writer still havent taint him with any of the death so far) but Haesoo is the one who made him that way. Haesoo come from the future and made him that way. It is no longer Wang So will be cruel with or without Haesoo but more like he become cruel because of her (Haesoo's betrayals made him become crazy and start killing everyone). NGL I was hoping for them to go to the route where he has to kill his brothers not because he want to but because they are evil but at how the rate this drama is going, he just gonna kill them because of jealousy/betrayal. >:(

Date: 2016-10-27 02:14 am (UTC)i thought ep17 was really bad in terms of the editing and the choppiness (was watching the intl version) but ep 18 was totally fine. I've also sorta lost interest in most of the characters cause of the bad writing, so now am just sticking on to see how this trainwreck ends lol
I think haesoo going to jung was the writer's version of getting them to be together cause in the c-version (not sure if you've seen it), she marries him and they live away from the palace. i notice this writer likes to take key scenes/events from the c-version and put his/her own spin on it. i personally want her to leave the palace, leave all those bad memories and everyone behind, marry jung and ride off into the sunset.
the key thing for me i felt was how disinterested i've become in the so-su relationship. they built it up so much in earlier episodes like it was this amazing thing waiting for the right moment to implode on us..but we've gotten nothing. and won't get anything with 2 epis left. i'm especially irritated at how she keeps not trusting him (starting with those visions back in ep 15 or so) and the fact that she gives others the benefit of doubt (chaeryung etc), but is sometimes stingy in extending that courtesy to So.
Like the show is telling me (instead of showing) that this love is like The Thing, these two moved heaven and earth to be together but i'm just not feeling it =/

Date: 2016-10-27 04:12 am (UTC)I don't think I really care how it ends, I just want to see how it ends. So seems really annoying suddenly turning on Soo just because he became king, I think it's too much too soon. I haven't seen the Chinese version but it seems like Soo will try to run away to Jung and So will go kill Jung to get her back because he's possessive and annoying af. Idk what will happen to Wook...I'm sure So will kill him because of Soo somehow. Honestly it would be cool to see Wook sacrifice himself to save Soo, I feel like she'll be in danger after making So mad by running away. I'm not on So's side honestly, I never was. So idc.
