Jinho and Hongseok Open Up about Leaving SM and YG

Jinho: I was at the previous agency for 6 years. But in the end what I thought of and what the company thought of of the future path was different and so in a good way we parted. After that Cube called me in for an audition.

Hongseok: At YG, I was in the survival program Mix and Match as a potential candidate for iKON but was eliminated. After that, I remained in YG but I wasn't at a young age to be able to debut as an idol. Watching iKON debuting at that point, I wondered when it would get to me, and staying in the company made me unexpectedly worried. I thought I needed to find the music I wanted to do and thus left the company. Coincidentally I met Cube's artiste development team director and told me about Pentagon's ideal plans. So I decided to join this team and came to Cube.

Cube Seniors Provided Support for Pentagon's Debut

Hongseok stated, "At the filming of our music video, Hyuna and CLC came to cheer us on. They recharged our morale so we continued full of energy."

They also received advice from BTOB's Eunkwang. Pentagon aims to work hard to avoid "tarnishing the name of Beast and BTOB."

When asked what set them apart from their senior groups, leader Hui stated that rather than difference, he wants to "combine the vocal color of BTOB and sophisticated performance of Beast."

Cute from JMin and Zhoumi to congratulate Jinho! I remember when people were anticipating a possible debut in EXO... and nope. I'm glad he's finally able to debut!

I'm still wondering why he wasn't put in Exo. Like he seems to not lack anything to fit there and I do not see much of differance between him and other Exo members so what was the deal breaker, what was the thing that made SM be like "this kid out"? He did not want to wear monk's habit or what lol? Idk, I just want to be fly on SM's wall sometimes (often);P

Yeah, it's weird. He's a good vocalist and he was already known through SM the Ballad... we'll probably never know what happened but I'm still curious!

I follow an avid Jino fan from the SM The Ballad days on twitter who was basically up to date on his every step, knew the moment he left SM and joined Cube and knew about the formation of Pentagon and their pending debut because of financial troubles Cube seems to have as well as insecurities about the eventual line up, etc. blablabla.

Nah, not a stalker, just a passionate fan. I think you actually know that person too. I'd have to look up her LJ name, but she used to be active when I also was...

Oh, I've been more active again lately. I pop in daily to check out new releases, keep up to date with which male idol screwed up hard lately, who dates who, what's new on the fanwars front, etc. Mostly I lurk around and occasionally comment (and observe the development of your Lay stanning with thumbs up, thanks for all the posts).

So that's why... jk. Eli's IG posts definitely keep you posted on how much he enjoys being a Dad, but for stanning that's a bit boring I guess.

Still, Lay is a good stanning choice, despite the will to self-sabotage and destroy the remains of his health.

he looks so much happier now, i'm genuinely happy for him. you can tell how big the pressure of hiding his gf was during all these years. also he always wanted to marry young and have kids so i'm happy that his dreams finally came true. as a (former) stan, seeing your idol happy is the best feeling in the world tbh.

i hope that one day i can say the same about lay.

True and it's sweet seeing him boast now about how much he loves his wife and son. I honestly think most (sane) fans were just happy he fulfilled his dream. I'm now waiting for K.Will...
Well, Lay needs someone to teach him to lay it low some and relax his workaholic-ing.
