HELP I AM DROWNING IN HARMONIES.

So much singing in harmony in this album, I'm in love. Overall, it's very easy listening and chill. At first you'd think some of the songs seem basic but they're actually very layered and intricate. I have so much adoration for their voices.

Except maybe for U Need Me and 1 of 1, I loved all tracks at first listen. Prism is my favorite (I resist the urge to scream from joy every time it comes on). It should've been title track, IMO. As for 1 of 1, if I hadn't heard the other tracks first (especially Prism), which set the bar high for the lead track, I probably would've liked it at first listen too. I was expecting the title track to be the best of the album, but maybe if I rank it, 1 of 1 is probably somewhere in the middle.

So I listened to the album as the mv loaded I am on my second listen through. It is so great, I would say singing and harmony wise this is one of the most solid SHINee albums so far. The songs play to all of their strengths and works to blend the "shinee sound" with other styles really well. Basically I am trash and love all of it. It will be on repeat for the next long while, no skips needed.

i love this whole album so much?? like all the songs have that subtle (or not so subtle? idk, i'm still running on 4 hrs of sleep, idk anything anymore) and it pleases so much its like my childhood :') and shinee are doing it so well

Don't Let Me Go is the only track I like. I'm really shocked everyone is loving this album so much. But i also felt this way about most of Odd, I liked Married to the Music more than anything on that album

THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SHINEE ALBUMS. I CANT. I AM A STAN BUT THIS MIGHT BE MY FAVORITE ALBUM.

prism: ONEW OPENING THE SONG AND THAT MELODY ARE TOO MUCH. PERFECTION. everyone sounds on point though. no weak vocals or bad beats.key's high notes and the rest of his singing are especially great here.

1of1: sorry but shinee doing new jack swing was something i always wanted when i didn't know the genre's name before so i am a wreck over this song. also jonghyun's voice and minho's non-smtm yet awesome rapping make the song pop.

feel good: it's so fresh and really chill yet energizing. another of shinee's experimental tracks yet it seems an effortless work of art. the second half is just AJKFLDJFKLHDFSD.

don't let me go: such a classic emotional shinee song. everyone's voice sounds beautiful in this and the melody is so sad yet comforting. also key for smtm! this is some of my favorite type of songs for key's voice and i love his high notes here.

lipstick: it's a throwback to early shinee and what made my fall in love with their voices and music. it just has those flawless and smooth r&b vocals which shinee is known for. i was scared of this song for some reason but it's perfection.

don't stop: has some more flawless vocals. love it, but it's not in the running to be my favorite.

shift: i don't think the stranger things intro was necessary, but after that it's hype af dance track. i want to go back in time and dance to this song in a club, but i don't own the time machine or the 90s clothes for it.

u need me: i can't praise minho's rap here like before, but the song is another treasure.

so amazing: very upbeat and fun. not my favorite but it's an awesome song.

The whole album is amazing, there are honestly no bad songs, but literally almost every song should win a grammy or something. every song except don't stop and so amazing are a 10000000/10 for me and even then those songs are still great.

I been SHINee garbage for 8 years so I have nothing new to contribute aside from the fact that this album seems Japan-ready. The team NAILED the NJS-era and I must say I feel super nostalgic listening to this.

But to my surprise, I'm hearing Teddy Riley wasn't involved which I'm lowkey offended by tho... how you gon have the godfather of New Jack Swing working for you and not have him involved in this revival?? SM is so weird :/

I feel like it's SO necessary to point out how much SHINee brought it vocally on this album. They're one of very few groups who can make me still enjoy a song I don't really like based on vocals (WSS). The harmonies, background vocals, main vocals, the overall production in general are top notch. I specifically like when there are key changes made to the chorus and those harmonies move up and down the scale.

I know they keep striving to get that huge hit, however if they continue to put out solid, cohesive material like this in the process, I am a-okay with being along for the ride. All the way.

Prism: its so intense. the harmonization. oh my lord..... :3 and the audio is mixed in a way so that the voices are so 'in' my ear. *_____* (5/5)
1of1: groooovy as Fuck! love the 90s theme. (5/5)
Feel Good: Starts slow. omg the beat drop. chorus reminds me of the weekend feel my face song. totally chill and dope song. the entire album has amazing audio mixing! they mixed the 90s with the current house music so well. (4.5/5)
Don't let me go: omg MINHO IN THE CHORUS!!!!!!!! WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. OMG OMGOMGOGMOGMOGMGOMG >____< THAT RAP *_________* haven't even hear the full song but its a complete 10/10. i thought this might be a ballad, but its more faster and groovy at the same time. super 90s too. KEYs RAPPP WTFFFFFFFFF omg. the rain at the end and the piano is perfect. (7/5)
Lipstick: Pretty nice. a bit generic though.
Dont Stop omg this sounds strange. its more of a spoken word song rather than a full on song. rather curious. I love it. Dope af. (4.5/5)
Shift: Love it. omg. the song progression is rad. (6/5)
U Needed me: the intro is wtf. song is strange. a bit hep hap. (3.5/5)
So Amazing: Another high energy song. rather nice. (3/5)

Overall 1st half of album is awesome. I realised that the album doesnt have a low energy song, or space for it to breathe. its an interesting choice.

ok after listening the album, not saying that the songs are bad, but i guess i kinda understand why 1 of 1 is the title track. like the songs are... too chill. 1 of 1 is too i guess. like other group wouldn't do that song or any of the songs in this album for their title track.
and i really shouldn't be surprised that this is the progression of their music. their previous album always have a retro sound for me. they've just gone all out in this album. i like it. U Need Me is super annoying tho.

I really wanted to like this cause 90s throwback but it isnt doing much for me. Doesnt help that the only voice I really enjoy in shinee is onew. I wish exo would have gotten this album tbh. A doxbaekhyun voice combo would have killed it.

i usually dont love shinees vocals either but they sounded really good on the album even jjong pulled back and wasn't annoying me with his damn falsetto as for baeksoo they would've sounded amazing but shinee are far better performers than exo and can pull this whole concept off better imo
