EXO’s Chen To Collaborate With DJ Alesso For New Version Of “Years”

It looks like EXO’s Chen will be joining forces with global DJ Alesso in a new SM STATION track!

SM Entertainment recently announced plans for the EXO member to release the EDM track “Years” with DJ Alesso on October 7. SM STATION will be collaborating with SM’s EDM label ScreaM Records, and will be releasing the track in China and Korea at the same time.

“Years” is actually a Swedish progressive house track that was released by DJ Alesso in 2012 and featured singer Mathew Koma. With the new collaboration, the track will be featuring EXO’s Chen, who is known for his impressive vocal range ability, and will showcase a different kind of appeal from the original.

ScreaM Records also held a fanmeeting for DJ Alesso on October 3 titled “ALESSO FAN MEETING” to celebrate the collaboration.

honestly, i think the point is, SM thinks Yixing's song will only sell in china. Korean public won't care about him.
And vice versa w/jongdae. And it's always been like this. idec anymore. SM will not put effort to promote yixing in korea and they will not go out of their way to promote other members in china.

although i do still think it's #coincidence #perfecttiming

Agree with everything you've said.
Yixing is paving his own path in China with his company with minimum help from SM. It feels that for SM whether he succeeds or not doesn't matter as long as he remains a part of EXO.
Somehow, I feel like someone in SM had a calendar with all the things that are scheduled for the next upcoming months and decided to fit it in there so it wouldn't conflict with their tour or something else they have planned without caring about Yixing's Birthday (but shame on you SM).

that said, i don't care either, i just hope he gets out of exo asap and do his thing, is or start to work less.

That doesn't translate to sells in korea tho. and i dont think in china yixing promoted that song heavily either. so considering with minimum effort SM could get good sales in china , i don't think they'd care much about korean market for yixing.

lay is releasing a gift song to his fans on his birthday and not the promoted single for his solo album. i don't know where people are getting the idea that lay is releasing his single/album on his birthday. so i don't think this should be an issue at all. but of course some fans are going to be dramatic about this. anyway, lay will get to perform his song on stage for his korean fans on october 09.

the song's gonna be the pre-release for his solo album, is my understanding. and monodrama was an official release but it wasn't actively promoted either. so at this point idk what's promoted song for yixing means. but you know what, i think the build up for yixing's solo album have been going on for so long, that i didn't even realized that it's probably just a b'day gift like you said. and eh, stans should've known better and not expected anything.

"what u need" is a really personal song to him and he wanted to release it as the first single of his album. so i get where all the madness is coming from.

eh. i'm not even sure this can be considered a proper pre-release for his solo album. i think it's just a gift for xingmis. maybe there will be a video. or it will be released for free. and exo at least has talked about lay's solo in their concert. i'm not sure they have for chen's sm station. i think it's best to wait for lay's actual promo for the outrage.
