There's maybe got7. I'm not too sure about them, because Got7 have good MV views, and good physical sells. But their digitals are ABYSMAL. They debuted on Melon at 15th, and then took a plunge pretty quickly. As of right now (6am KST), Infinite is 7th on Melon real time chart, while Got7 are 60th. Boy groups usually rise a couple ranks in nighttime because that's when the fans stream the song, while daytime is more indicative of how the general public likes the song. I've checked Melon charts regularly everyday and usually Infinite is around top 20 daytime, and top 5 nighttime (and the rest of the album rise in top 30, while GOT7 only have Hard Carry), while GOT7 are more around 70-90 daytime and top 60 nighttime. So I'm not too sure how GOT7 will do, because Infinite's digitals are honestly pretty decent (A Pink are around 15th daytime, and 35th nighttime), and yet, in the music shows, it was a 1000 point difference with Red Velvet who are usually 5-6th, so what really helped Infinite to grab the win are the physical sells, MV views and voting. Got7 are a rising group, so their fandom might be able help them enough win. Who knows. We've seen other boygroups with terrible digital sells win before.

Hmmm bad reached 20 millions but they didn't reach it overnight you know. I think Bad and The Eye are the only two songs where they reached 1 million view in one day. And as you said, Bad, which was released a year ago, is their most viewed MV, even though they have more iconic songs that were released way before. So I take it as a good sign of progress. So I think the fandom, be it not as big as say exo (who's really in a whole category on its own with big Bang and bts, the three popular groups right now) is doing okay and is still sizeable enough in general. They can't compete with any Sme group or yg, but but I think they're a good middle ground? I mean, comparatively, 2pm who released their song at the same time has half of infinite's MV views. And song Jieun has 630k views, while exo's dancing king has twice infinite's. It already has more views than Bap's Wild Young and Free that was released 10 Months ago, or b1a4's sweet girl. Beast's Ribbon has 7 mio views after 3 months. (I'm mentioning all of these groups because they used to be popular and then their just stopped growing). The Eye has been out for 2 weeks, we'll have to wait a bit more to see if Bad was their most viewed song ever.
But international Fandom is not really any use if they don't buy and vote for their group. Red Velvet is popular internationally if we look at their MV views. But it doesn't translate in physical albums. As of October 2nd, they sold over 32k (on hanteo), which is actually pretty good for a girl group when you look at the average gg sells. But it's not impressive compared to their MV views. (on the other hand, their popularity with the general public in SK is not to be discussed anymore).

Date: 2016-10-03 01:44 pm (UTC)Honestly, I'm not too sure about A Pink TBH. I love my girls, but as of right now as I type (10pm kst), they're 18th on melon real-time charts, while infinite is 22th. There's really not a big gap between them. And if you check in a couple hours, infinite's rank will climb, while a pink's will go down. And when it's daytime again, a pink will be back around rank 15th, and infinite around 20th, then nighttime will have infinite rise and a pink sink. So there's not much of a difference between the two groups. But, infinite has the advantage of having more physical sells and fanvotes. Got7 on the other hand has no digital points, but high physicals, MV views and fanvotes. Digital sells are more important, so my initial thought would be that A pink is nominated and Got7 is not. But we've seen boygroups such as Super Junior who have a strong fandom but no digitals win on music shows before. So according to my own prediction, either a pink or got7 will be nominated, but not nearly necessarily both. But lol watch me being wrong and have the two being nominated. XD
Edit: the reason I don't think both A Pink and GOT7 will be nominated is because Red Velvet is still eligible, and their digital sells are much better than A Pink's with a rank 5-7th for three weeks straight now. So the nominees in all logic should be Im Chang Jung, Red Velvet, and Apink or Got7 or Infinite. *shrugs* We'll see in three days. I'm not holding my breath for either of the three tbh XD
