I'm not too found of the other girl's vocal colour paired with Genie here (not the best song for her), but I can see how she won against Seulgi. Seulgi's voice is really recognizable! She could do some work on her higher register but I love her voice already and this cover is no exception. If Red Velvet really has to do a cover of SNSD, I wish they would go for a jazzy Genie, between Seulgi's cover here, Wendy's high notes (imagine her doing that Taeyeon solo??!) and how Irene looked in a marine-like uniform they would certainly look and sound AMAZING.
i agree, seulgi's voice is really distinct. it's so much smoother compared to the other girl's vocals, but whatever she sounded so good and the judges praised her.
Ugh why genie? why genie when there's so many good(more challenging songs to showcase her vocals ugh At least she did a good job I think Ye eun was in this same episode?
