I.O.I will be making a comeback with a song produced by Park Jin Young!

On September 22, I.O.I’s agency revealed that the group’s next song will be the work of JYP Entertainment head Park Jin Young. I.O.I member Jeon Somi is housed by JYP Entertainment and Park Jin Young had apparently been preparing a song for the group as a gift.

Park Jin Young has created several hit girl group songs including Wonder Girls’ “Tell Me,” “So Hot,” “Nobody,” “I Feel You,” miss A’s “Bad Girl, Good Girl,” TWICE’s “Do It Again,” and more.

I.O.I’s comeback activities might be their last as they are a project group created through the reality show “Produce 101” and will have to work through their separate groups and agencies. The group is expected to make a comeback in October with all 11 members.

This could go really wrong or really good, but the last thing he was in charge was Unnies 'Shut Up', so I'm optimistic. And also nothing can be worst than 'Dream Girls'.

I hope this time there is not so much ageist comments, but I guess those only appear here when is himself performing and not composing.

I think I've said this before but it's going to be weird seeing the whole group again, I got really attached to the unit (awful concept aside, they had really good stage chemistry). Yeonjung's the only one I haven't mentally sorted into a different group.

I'm sad because I don't know what's going to happen to Chungha and my baby Sohye after this. Like will Sohye go back to actor training or become an idol trainee or were Redline always sneakily planning to debut a girl group and are playing a long game? I imagine Chungha will go into debut prep but since she doesn't have a big company behind her I'm getting nervous, I hope they don't leave it too long and squander the IOI momentum. Pledis have been doing really well at getting their trainees ready I think (a sentence I never thought I'd say).

i think sohye has her own company now? she started her own company or something - on one hand i'm afraid she and her staff won't know how to handle her post ioi activities but on the other hand she won't be tied down to what a company hands her and can make her own path (which if she's smart enough to use her ioi momentum could turn out well). she also has her cafe - so i feel business wise she's doing the best (but in terms of public popularity that might be hard after ioi)

and for chungha i remember seeing someone on tumblr post clips of m&h female trainees (including the other girl who tried for p101) doing a showcase of some sort? so there is a groupin the making, which (once again) if m&h advertises well (and if chungha is in the group) she could capitalize on her ioi momentum too. but yeah, they can't wait too long (not to mention pledis girlz are already in predebut stage and i think the fantagio group is too - if all three (or four/five if sohye/somi debuts) debut near each other netizens are going to turn it into a competition of some sort -.-).

tl;dr - i want chungha and sohye to do well after ioi but it's all up to how their company utilizes the momentum.

aha oh nooooo, i love falling into the 'rumoured trainee' bottomless pits. i'm obsessed with rumours over dream tea/yedang's trainees (mostly because i'm so invested in sua and siwon). i know how i'm going to spend my evening.

i didn't know sohye had her own company but i remember hearing about the cafe! she's adorable but i don't think she has the personality yet to be a 'personality' so i hope her company do right by her.

i've entertained thoughts of sohye (and her own company) pairing up with another company so she could be in another gg. kinda like how hello venus was originally a collab between pledis and fantagio. (not that that ended well... so... the fantasy ends there lol. but imagine if sohye was in pledis girlz or sth!) i just really want to see her continue performing and growing
