Well, seems like they're going all out for this comeback. I expected the standard individual pics, but they're serving us individual video teasers.
I'm a bit on the fence about this comeback due to Dongwoo's loss. A lot of people have mentioned that the comeback should be delayed, which I'm not against. But honestly, what I think of it mostly depends on how Dongwoo feels and what he wants.
I can't speak for him, and I don't assume I know what goes in his head, but I'm under the impression that Dongwoo, from the things he said and does, that he has a very positive and optimistic view of life, even in bad times. He always talks about life in a wise way, about life going on, to keep going forward, and not to dvelve on the past but to be grateful for what it brought and take it as an opportunity to learn and be stronger.
He also seems like a very dutiful son, so he should at least given time to sort everything out.
He doesn't come off as the type of guy who wants to sit in his room in the dark and crawl in a ditch waiting for darkness to swallow him whole (which would be a totally understandable reaction). So I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to get back on stage soon after he has accomplished his duty as the eldest son of the family (funeral, comforting family, pay visit, etc), especially if he enjoys performing. Some people grieve by keeping themselves busy to avoid falling in a slump, and what better than do something that actually makes them happy?
I know I'm more of the latter, so I don't think it's much of a stretch (considering what we are guessing about his personality) that he might want to throw himself into work as soon as possible. We'll have to see in the next few days/weeks what happens.
But yeah, I hope whatever they do, it is Dongwoo's decision.
i haven't watched the teaser yet because i'm just too mad. Dongwoo lost his father two days ago, fuck you woolim, if you don't wanna popstone the comeback at least held the teasers for a few more days, don't release them, release them all together the day of the comeback,i don't give a fucking danm, the funeral was fucking yesterday fuck you
I found hard to believe, again, the teaser is out less than 24 hours since the funeral, that doesn't even sound ok. After so many years in kpop i'm 100% skeptical about my faves having any power when it comes to decisions, dongwoo probably only got something like "do you wanna participate or nah cause we are still going to promote in two weeks"
Honestly, I don't think he has any power in anything either, let's not delude ourselves. But they MIGHT be considerate of what he wishes. I know for exemple that Mina from Aoa sat out of the entire promotion of Like A Cat when her grandpa passed away. I personally wouldn't hold it past them to just pressure dongwoo into coming back (we've heard companies' practice from the likes of Kris, Luhan, Hwayoung and other ex-idols), because in the end, it's all about the money. I know there are things that are to be taken into consideration, especially since Dongwoo is part of a bigger machine, like for the organisation of everything. I do NOT value these considerations above Dongwoo's well-being, but I am not surprised if from an economical pov, they see it differently. I think it's cruel and inhuman, but like, at my workplace, you wouldn't even DREAM of getting a week off, even if a family member passes away (at a friend's place, they have 3 days), which I think is unfair, but it's how it is, they just expect you to soldier through it. :/
So yeah, I don't think Woollim is like the model of compassion and human decency, but I really really hope that in the end, if he does come back, that it was according to Dongwoo's best interests. And as I said above, there is a possibility that he actually wants to come back. But we can't really know what he thinks, unless he says it in an interview, looks devastated on camera, or like, a family member or friend angrily takes it to sns and denounces woollim.
I think woolim doesnt even know what considerate is because, again, they think there is nothing wrong in releasing a teaser hours after the funeral, like yes, it was on sunday, it's already 12am, so it's monday and 100% ok to drop a teaser, they waited for a new day after all! Consideration is the word of the day at woolim! I mean...... Even if Dongwoo decides to participate, is this ok? Do i have to say "they didn't even wait for the body to grow cold" to people understand how fucking shitty woolim is right now? Am i just supposed to ignore and be ok because hey! It's all bussiness and money in the end? I'm fucking done with this comeback.
I'm really hoping individual teasers mean we'll get a full album *____* I'm a bit worried tho since apparently they said on one of the last concerts that they haven't shot the MV and practiced the choreo yet so it all seems a bit rushed?
i always get fooled, seeing them in their all white + blazers (legit why i didn't listen to them for like 2 years, cause i thought they were too "soft" for my tastes), and then they (almost) always go hard. so, i'm not intrigued by the photo but i know not to judge yet!!
i am kinda surprised they're still releasing this (maybe not the actual comeback, but these teasers and all) with dongwoo's situation. i'm definitely curious as to what they'll do with his individual teasers ... not release them? release them and then he'll be sitting out? release them and he'll be participating???
i'm gonna go find an infinite icon before their comeback gears up!
the timing of this is pretty insensitive. i can see why the comeback couldn't be postponed but surely dropping the teasers a few days later wouldn't really effect how hype people are for the comeback
while i don't trust any of these companies to do right by their idols, i love infinite and i want their comeback to succeed. i do trust that infinite care about each other and that they'll have dongwoo's back every step of the way.
also, these teasers are SO weird and messy looking like you had a year to prepare and this is the best you managed??
I don't know woollim a lot but from past situations of idols losing someone important (on different companies) I doubt they would deny Dongwoo for some free time to sit out of the concerts and comeback, going as far as cancelling or postponing the comeback maybe not, but sitting him out maybe. But to be honest seeing Dongwoo after all these years and the comments he made at the concert (the fact that he actually went to the concert) I do believe it was also mostly his decision to go on forward with his activities. (Or so I would like to believe), I wish he would take some time off too though, a couple days isn't enough to dwell over a father's loss for anyone, and he should be with his family even just for a couple weeks. But that´s just my way of thinking.
That being said, and I don't mean to sound insensitive but I'm so excited for this comebackkkkk, I missed them so much and I hope they get to go to a lot of varieties and stages and i'm so ready for their slay performances at the gayos. I'm a little worried about the wins though, no doubt inspirit is a huge fandom and would get them to win, but so many big groups are also coming back on september... Anyway I'm always impressed by the production Woollim puts on their comebacks, like individual teasers and comeback trailer, and concert trailer like who does that really.
Also Sunggyu looks great not his best angle but his nose on the teaser pic... jfc just ....

Date: 2016-09-05 05:25 am (UTC)During their TSC3 in Japan, the day before his father died, Dongwoo said this...
It seems that he already accepted the fact the his father is passing... And he still manage to do good on stage...
But it is still painful that he lost his father.
For TSC3 in Osaka, Woollim did not confirm if Dongwoo will be participating...
