Sihyun said there were "many fans" there to see them but that's A LIE - there were about 14(?) of us and the rest of the numbers were heavily padded by CJ staff...LOL their fanchants were pretty loud though XD

so...I was there from 25-28 Aug (Thu-Sun), really short trip but I managed to attend all the pre-recording sessions for MCD, MuBank, MuCore and Inki, and all the live shows except MuBank. their fandom size is, bluntly put, pathetic :( they have a core group of KMercuries, but even they don't attend every recording or schedule. the turnout was pretty bad, average 10 fans? we had the shortest line by far.. and out of that 10, at least 1/3 were international fans, including myself and my friend (@Spica_Tweets). like, 4 fans for Inki live show - all international fans, and 2 were casual fans... if you like Spica and ever have a chance to be in Seoul during their comeback, please go and show them your support, they really really need it :(
on to the more positive stuff - THEY WERE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC TO WATCH. granted, I'm 1000000% biased, but OH MY GOD THEY WERE REAL-LIFE GODDESSES. the last time I saw them perform as a group irl was in May 2013 (I waited 1189 days ๐ญ [yes I have a counter]) and seeing them in front of my eyes again was just so unreal. their vocals were on point, dancing was good (well, as good as I can expect of this bunch of old ladies [Boa's lack of stamina though haha]).. I didn't think they'd be able to pull of a fast dance concept this well, but they worked really hard!
they had a pretty good reception from other groups' fans too :) especially during Music Core post-recording (i.e. recording the following week's MuCore ep) where there were many fandoms in the same session - Spica were surprisingly done in one take and the (UP10TION) fans next to us howled in disappointment hahaha. heard random fans praising their beauty when we saw them leaving the broadcast stations too ^^ (though Boa has this habit of disbelieving people who tell her she's pretty... :( )
in I LOVE KIM BOA news, on Friday they went into Music Bank too quickly for me to pass my gifts (small things + ramen and snacks from Singapore) to them, but when they came out to go to the salon I called out to Boa and passed all the member gifts to her. she looked at me with the same quizzical expression while smiling, and... she.... SHE REACHED OUT AND GRABBED MY HAND ๐ญ๐ญ๐ญ I wasn't expecting that at all... she's so sweet ๐ญ I don't care if I'm delusional, but throughout the 4 days I felt like she was really making the effort to look/smile at me because she knows I'm her fan.. I love Kim Boa so much :(
and of course the other members were super lovely too.. in general Spica aren't a group that's large on fanservice, but they do show their appreciation and concern in smaller ways. I appreciate all the cute little things they did, like Jiwon asking if we'd eaten (when we said no, she made this face ๐ฉ), Sihyun turning around to peek at us while they were in their opening positions (and Boa blocked her on purpose), Boa glaring at the KMercuries (she glares at them a lot, I think her dynamics with KMercuries is adorable), Narae and Jiwon making arm hearts and generally being super smiley, Bbo waving excitedly at us like the precious ball of sunshine that she always is...
overall, super stressful and tiring 4 days (lots of standing and waiting around) but I would do it a hundred times over for Spica.. I promised them in my letters that I'd go again for their next comeback, and I hope I'll get to meet more international Mercuries then! (including some from Omona..? :D)
