i liked soyeon's performance for the track, she wasn't as chipmunky as usual i wish she sounded like that all the time. cool kid really messed up in the battle, i hope she's out. and lol at the miryo, juyeon, yuna battle... 🐍🐍🐍🐍
I find Jidam's rap skills to be incredibly overstated but that was bullshit. I don't know if Janey's lyrics were way better in Korean and Jidam's just translated better but even if that were so, her delivery and concept still SMOKED her. I genuinely feel she was robbed when other times in this show I've felt she was given too much LOL.
That's pretty much what I think it was and I can't totally complain because I have to admit, the winners each episode have been very predictable until that moment LOL so it did make things more interesting. I also think maybe Jidam feels like the stakes are higher which will make her work harder because in many ways it feels like she's just been sort of coasting through this season.
I died when Jidam came out in that dress. It was so over the top and hilarious, I loved it. tbh i loved all the theatrics, nada flashing giant pink, soyeon coming out in her produce 101 uniform.

I really, truly did not expect Kool Kid to crumble under pressure to that degree. That actually made me sad because it was so awkward to watch LOL.
Jidam is overrated but she was robbed here. I feel like Janey was rewarded for exceeding low expectations and Jidam was punished for meeting but not exceeding high ones.

i loved the track kush made but i feel like no one really did anything exciting with it. there are some good rappers this season, but they're kind of boring. at least yezi had that crazy dog song which was fun and exciting. and i've been done with nada's cosplaying since a while ago.
This episode was about 25% Kush and Nada reactions shots. (I'm not complaining, I need to make a mega gif post)
Janey's diss was so weak by comparison, but she was glaring at Jidam like "I got you!" so maybe that's why she won? because she wasn't afraid? *shrugs* But I noticed that those who brought props didn't win unless the other person messed up (like Kool Kid and Giant Pink). On SMTM,his team was the only one that didn't use props or coordinate their outfits,so maybe Kush just doesn't like theatrics in a rap battle.
The one thing I've always like about Nada, the "twerking idols" mess aside, was how she didn't fit into the conventional Korean beauty standard, but she still seems to love her look and embrace her body. So, I'm happy her bootyful hook got attention and she seems comfortable with herself. Sadly, I think this embracing of her features, her not stick-thin body and her darker skin, results in her looking to other people (like black celebs) to draw inspiration from and her appreciation becomes appropriation. Still, Truedy was flat out putting mentions of "black people" and "black koreans" in her lyrics and dodging questions about her ethnicity. So, I'm not so quick to relate the offenses of one to another.
This SMTM/UPRS showdown seems like fun, but it'll probably turn out like last season with the boys just blowing them out the water...we'll see.

yeah I get this. I can see how it's hard to find people to look up to when trying to embrace your looks that aren't considered conventionally beautiful in the homogenous society you live in so you turn elsewhere but are slightly misguided lol
