[enter-talk] WOW SEVENTEEN'S COMPANY CALLED OUT THEIR FANSITES

Freaking cool of them, it's the first time seeing a company calling out their group's fansites publicly like this

Basically Pledis is giving a warning/notice to these fansites for taking pictures and trespassing private spaces or forbidden places (airport security area, luggage area, etc.). They're asking the fansites to go re-read the rules about fanclubs. The list mentioned above are now banned from entering events where seventeen are at or receiving privileges in concerts.

Wow the way they cope with things made me wet my pants. Why isn't my bias' company doing this too f*ck

ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋAll of Hoshi

"I just received a notice, but since when did I commit anything wrong? You think that I'm a sasaeng page? If you don't know anything, don't spread anything;;;"

Wasn't it because of Seventeen's fans last time that they received a warning from KBS? That's why they have to start being more severe

Freaking nice ㅠㅠㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

(talking about not being able to get the benefits they used to in concerts and not being able to attend their fansign events, etc)

They were acting all friendly about it, but they caught everyone and released their identities. They got so much sh*t from the fans they should at least sue them, they're saints for doing this

Why is Pledis working so hard lately? The only ones who are overreacting to this issue are the homepage managers f*ck

If they're doing a public execution this time, next step would be to sue themㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

Our Pledis is still clumsy, but they're working hard...Pledis is growing up at the same time as Carats are growing up with Seventeen

Pledis bans certain Seventeen fansites due to their trouble

The listed fansites are banned from attending official events, concerts, and fansigns for taking pictures at restricted areas in the airport.

Pann: Wow, Seventeen fansite masters are openly executed

1. [+253, -1] Wow, how they're handling this is amazing. Why isn't my bias company doing this, fuck.
2. [+244, -3] ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ So shameless

(One of the fansite masters denies being a sasaeng fansite)
3. [+239, -0] Seventeen got a warning from KBS because of the fansite masters, that's why they're being more strict.
4. [+112, -0] Awesome ㅠㅠ They're forced to go on a hiatus ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
5. [+104, -0] Us Carats were always executing them, I'm surprised that Pledis is doing the work. I hope they include Insomnia, Michan, scoups88, Macaronshu, talented_boo, comely_han, vernon_kr, and peachtea_88 as well. I memorized all of these problematic fansites because of their endless trouble, fuck.
6. [+104, -0] Groups that are associated with those fansites should also be executed openly. There was too much damage done. They should be thankful that they're not getting sued.

note: both these sites translated the same pann post but kpopkfans also included some fansites from the yhy sketchbook incident/music bank incident so i wanted to include them as well

i only say "some form of action" because i think it's unclear to the fandom exactly what pledis meant in their statement/ i see different interpretations over being completely banned vs. just receiving a warning. i've been checking out the fansites after the call out to see what their reactions are, but most are still going about their business :(. regardless, i'm glad pledis is openly calling them out - better to take firm action in the beginning rather then let it grow into a bigger problem later as seventeen gets more popular. i just wish pledis would do more about all the fans crowding seventeen internationally as they travel places for their fanmeets (because its not just a domestic problem but an international one too)

also rip cause thats 2 out of like 3 jun fansites

I feel bitter for Jun's fansites because I'm selfish but still I'm very glad that they did something and I hope that this at least helps a little so sasaeng fans fuck off but that would be too much to ask. Little by little

On the one hand i applaud Pledis for taking action, on the other this means less pics of Mingyu's face and this makes me sad.

Considering Seventeen is in Australia right now it might be a bit hard to police (less staff, tickets went on sale months ago and their wasn't any fanclub/cafe pre-sale).

I'd assume they're going to try and police them through revoking fanclub privileges/also maybe pledis staff in Korea would recognise the fansites at this point.

yeah any areas passed the security/immigration lines should be no-no and absolutely nothing inside airplanes, like fuck have you people thought about your idols being creeped out before you take those damn pictures
i just think of taeyang every time when shit happens like this, when he talked about this one sasaeng looking surprised and gasping when he got onboard and he was like don't even pull that, you knew i was gonna be here.

'Aww no, less pictures of my bias' i don't want to start shit (though I don't think this would annoy anyone here) while I'm waiting to catch a flight but??? Doesn't your bias' safety & peace of mind & not having their groups' image tarnished by saesang fans breaking rules and upsetting security kind of trample on that emotion? I know it's hard as intl fans since we rely on fansites and fan photos a lot of the time but I'd support any agency who made this decision without any other sentiment.

Excuse me I am waiting on a flight that might be cancelled and have a lot of feelings about saesangs and pledis

lol i was just gonna say that i saw some of their previews on my feed earlier today. so, either pledis' statement is bull or the fansites already found ways to get around it.

Yeah, fansites/crazy fans can find a way always. It would take more serious action to stop them for real.

Idk how well this will work but kpop as a whole needs to take bigger measures to ensure idols safety and maintain a healthy distance between them and the fans

Oh good. But too many people make excuses for fansites & treat them like untouchable fans. I've heard so many bad things about their entitlement and bad behavior.

I'm actually not sure what the status is with airport pics. Like in general I feel like ppl shouldn't take pics of idols when they're not performing or official event. But are airport pics something the idol companies want? If so then I guess... Like do idols do airport fashion because their companies alert fansites to take pics or do they do that cuz fansites are gonna take pics of them anyways might as well look nice

Airport pics are more complicated I guess. Photographers from legit newsoutlets such as Newsen usually get a photo op with the idols once they (the idols) arrive at an airport. To show off said airport fashion and all. These photo ops are agreed upon with the agencies, and the photographers usually follow idols inside for a bit, but leave them alone to check in etc. That's usually not the case with fanphotographers, who follow them around much longer. (At the airports where the idols arrive there has been the issue of big, uncontrolled crowds too.)

I know how problematic Jun Fansites are but I still follow them because there's not enough Jun in my feed. I should probably stop but I don't have morales. ;_;

apparently the title of the table that has all the fansite names says "first warning" or something but other places say they've gotten a full ban so... idk i guess

+ the point about fansites having multiple masters as well, i think it would be harder to police this kind of thing than pledis imagines it would be

still, kudos to them for drawing the line and punishing people who go too far tho

i'm not sure what's more worrying: the fact a fansite who didn't commit anything wrong was included and punished over something they didn't do, OR that a fansite who DID do something wrong and was rightly punished for it doesn't realise that what they did was wrong, and that they might be a sasaeng because of it.
