Jihyo stood out the most imo, her lower register sounds so good. Baek a yeon has such a beautiful vocal colour, I instantly knew it was her voice and I wasn't even watching the video. Couldn't really tell Suhyun and Yuju's voice apart, but I felt Yuju's vocals don't suit the song as much. All in all, I enjoyed the collab and hope there will be more! :D
This was cute! I think them trying to make this song more vocal based was eh.v They could have chosen another song but whatever. I feel like this cover is way more in line with Ah Yeon and Suhyun. Both have such pretty voice and usually sing very simple songs. Jihyo has an interesting voice and lively voice. She just lacks the finesse that some of her contemporaries have (though I really don't think she was trained to be a mani vocalist anyway). Here though she sounds great. The discussions about her voice always feels extra on both sides. Yuju does what she does and she sounds great per usual. I do feel like this was beneath her a little bit. It's not like we need big dynamic power ballads with soaring vocals every week but this performance was made for Ah Yeon and Suhyun not really Yuju.
I pretty much agree with all your comment. Baek A Yeon and Suhyun shined here,and while we know Yuju is good she doesn't fit this song.
And Jihyo auditioned on JYP as a child actress, not because of her singing, but she has been training on dancing and singing for 10 years. So basically she is not there for her vocals, but has try to get the best of it with hard work and it makes me feel sad when people act like she is doing bad when what she does now in terms of singing (don't know how to call it) is starting from nowhere.
Watching SIXTEEN you could tell who was there to do what. Jihyo didn't become main vocalist until the group challenges and from there she got stuck with it. She's doing her best with what she got but I do hope she invest in herself and seeks professional vocal training. Of all the new idols to pop up she has one of my favorite singing voice just very little of the technical skill to back it up.
I wouldn't have chosen this song for an acoustic version... idk. Hyori's songs must be danced for me XD I'm still enjoying this, I want this kind of performance between different agencies to come up more often. Anyway, they sounded good! When the song started and I realized ut was U go girl I was so excited and at the end I felt like.... why they did this to this song, they could've dance to it, I know they wanted to showcase their vocals, but for that they could've chosen another song, I was waiting for a climax moment in the last part of the chorus like in the original version, but this version was just boring and anticlimax, they have nice voices but sighs.... I'm going to see the original now just to take out this lackluster feeling
Twice did a performance this same year for this song (but a regular cover dancing to it), so it called my attention that they decided to go for this. So in less than half a year Jihyo has performed this song two times in special stages lol

I don't know about the US/rest of the english speaking world, but in the UK it's generally acceptable to describe a woman with larger breasts as 'busty'. or at least, not the part i'm from.

Whoever is picking the songs for all of these collab stages needs to rethink everything. Most of the songs have been horrible for showing off talent and end up being boring or embarrassing. This one was better but why make U Go Girl of all songs acoustic?

Bc people are pressed about Twice' success and accuse all of them to be awful singers based on mr-removed videos. Clearly Jihyo, Nayeon and JungYeon, in a less degree, can sing. There're also useful members in the singing department like Mina and Chaeyoung, who also composes, but people ignore all of that to make their point, when SNSD worked just fine with 9 members like that for 10 years. lol
