It’s time for Flashback Friday! I look through the charts for this Friday in a past year and post the top three songs. Then, I pick out two more from the top ten as honorable mentions. This week we’re going back to the 4th Friday in August, 2012. We’ll start with a song that EVERYONE has heard before…


#3 PSY “Gangnam Style”
I’m pretty sure this song needs no introduction. I think I was into this for like, three days, and haven’t listened to the whole song since then. I’d probably be into it live, though. His concerts look like so much fun.

#2 “I Need You” Huh Gak featuring Zia
This digital single from Huh Gak has no official MV nor any live performances, and I have no memory of it at all. But it’s always nice to hear Zia.

#1 Kara “Pandora”
When this came out, I think I was pretty indifferent to this song. But now, I freaking love it. And they all look so good in this MV! Like, seriously, they look AMAZING. Good hair, good makeup, cute outfits ASDGA JASFJIJ!

#7 Beast “Beautiful Night”
This is my favorite Beast song, it’s a fun song. But I've never seen the MV before.

#8 BoA “Only One”
Posting the dance version of this song, because it’s BoA, and if given a choice between a BoA drama version or a BoA dance version, ALWAYS choose the dance version…because it’s freaking BoA.

Only One is my favorite song by any artist in any language ever. I will never tire of it, which isn't surprising since I have listened to it well over 1000 times since it came out (not even a lie). I neeeeeed to see it live, and I hope she never takes it out of her rotation at SMT concerts because if they ever come back to the US I need that moment in my life. I will cry when I hear those piano notes.

I agree that the dance version is best, but the drama version does have the extended piano intro, which I love.

when I realised last month that Gangnam Style was four years old I had to take a minute to not have a panic attack over the passage of time in a bus station

it was also the year I started my degree and Gangnam Style was the first word I learned to read in Korean class

i remember watching psy's mv when it came out and not really knowing who he was lol. i was like why is hyuna in the mv? i liked the mv song though and now I can appreciate the IC cast cameos!

Beautiful Night is such an awesome summer song. It's the only other title besides Fiction that I've really loved from them.

"Only One" is great, BoA is amazing.... QUEEN

"Gangnam Style" was fun/funny until every damn bar in Korea was playing it so we'd hear it all the time and THEN it went global and just ugh it got old. I do like Psy's stuff tho. Actually if we're talking Psy's work I've always been a fan of "Right Now". I started liking him when that first came out.
