Girl group T-ara are in the finals of Billboard’s Fan Army Faceoff for the second year in a row.
In the on-going 2016 Billboard Fan Army Face-Off, T-ara are up against 30 Seconds to Mars led by well known movie star, Jared Leto.
Originating in 2014, the Fam Army Face-Off pits fans of different artists against each other in a tournament format to determine the most powerful fandom.
In 2014, 30 Seconds to Mars’ Echelons wrestled against Big Bang‘s VIP for the championship; VIP took home the win. In 2015, T-ara’s Queen’s succeeded over One Direction‘s Direction in what was a grand scale semi finals and eventually took the win from Beyonce‘s Beyhive in the finals.
Currently, Queen’s hold a strong lead with 43,576 votes against Echelon’s 11,158 votes. 10 days still remain to vote but it looks like T-ara can already expect another win for the 2nd year in a row. (currently T-ARA are at 108,698 votes and 30STM at 20,141 votes)
T-ara has been enjoying popularity in China for several years, which certainly shows in the fans’ votes for the Fan Army Face-Off. Meanwhile the group will be preparing for the 2016 T-ara Great China Tour Concert In Shanghai Final to be held on September 17th.
[198+ 8-] Don’t expect T-ara to only have Chinese fans.. Don’t you know how many Queen’s are there globally.. There’s Vietnam, which doesn’t have a good relationship with China – when T-ara performs their songs in China, (being able to watch on live streams) that is also well-liked by Vietnamese. Previously, T-ara visited Vietnam (January 2015 T-ara’s fanmeet in Ho Chi Minh City) but Jiyeon’s hair was caught in a clump; whenever T-ara visits China, the Chinese fans would automatically treat them like VIPs. Also, when T-ara performs on stage in China and even Japan, fans would translate for each other and cheer together, wouldn’t they. T-ara’s music and their 6 members are all top-notch and they all sing pretty well too. Korea possesses T-ARA, who are this globally popular with good Korean songs. They even have fans in Europe, South America, North America and Saudi Arabia. When T-ara says they would be visiting a country, that country’s airport would have to tighten up security and even then, the airport will be temporarily paralyzed. What kind of national character do our country have that pulled down T-ara. It’s our ego that made us one-sided and overlooked their success and effort, isn’t it.. I feel a little sorry for our country’s entertainment industry for not listening carefully to T-ara’s songs and call them 치아라 (which means erase-ara, the name haters used to refer T-ara to as) instead of T-ara and be stuck with the music produced by idols working for large conglomerates. If you try listening carefully to T-ara’s songs, they are infinitely addictive. No matter what songs the 6 members sing, they will shine brighter and get even more popular. On YouTube about 20+ days ago, Turkey Queen’s uploaded a 7th Anniversary video for T-ara, which showcased a short history of T-ara and used Alan Walker – Fade as the background music, that video really touched my heart. I really hope that our Korean Queen’s would definitely try watching it. This is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kM_bjL96e8w

its so sad how many people treat t-ara as a joke and discredit their legacy. this might be "meaningless" to some people but the fact that they won last year made the girls so happy and got them on variety shows so

Date: 2016-08-24 09:44 pm (UTC)I've been voting for them on and off since the poll began. I'm not really sure how 30StM made it into the finals, but I'll be happy to see Queens crush them.

Date: 2016-08-24 11:05 pm (UTC)Now I'm voting for T-ara even if I don't know them well xD
It's pretty awesome though. I remember the drama when they beat 1D last year. They're not a group I hear about a lot, probably because their fans are older? I feel like younger fans tend to be louder/more active in fandoms. So it weirdly makes me really happy that they beat out groups with huge fandoms like EXO/BTS/BIGBANG/SNSD/TWICE even when I'm a fan of a few of those.
TLDR: I hope they win =)

Date: 2016-08-25 06:26 am (UTC)We've lost alot of older girlgroups this year but as I was recently organizing my Kpop records I realized T-ara hasn't had a proper comeback in forever either? (I'm barely counting the BraveBrothers song.) And I miss them because they are great and deserve everything.
