Dang, the show got heavy this week. Han Ye Ri knocked it out of the park during that crying scene. I'll be so sad if my maknae couple doesn't end up together. I'm crushed there's only one week left :(

Date: 2016-08-21 06:32 pm (UTC)My answer to all of the above questions is a resounding "VERY!!!"
*Spoilers below in case you haven't watched it yet*
I thought Jin Myung was going to kill herself when she was standing on the pier and when she was looking down at the bus coming near her. I don't know if what I imagined or what actually happened was sadder.
Yi Na! Such character growth! My bb!
D'aww Ye Eun. I thought she was grating at first, but I find her okay now hehe. I know a lot of girls irl like her.
And yaaassss for more screen time for Ji Won. What did you think about that interview at the end? Who is Hyo Jin?!?! Is she the former roommate?!?!
And gosh. I did not expect that with Eun Jae's family. My personal theory is that she played a role (maybe accidentally?!?!) in her bro's/dad's death. Maybe she accidentally gave them some peanuts?
I like that this show is refusing to give these characters an easy way out by not giving them happy endings to tidily wrap up the show. I think it's better and more bittersweet/poignant by being more realistic.
*sob* I'm going to be so sad when this show is over!!

Date: 2016-08-22 01:40 am (UTC)I had such a terrible feeling of dread with everything Jin Myung was doing this episode. I really thought she was going to kill herself as well.
I need to prepare myself for the ending of this show---I know that things aren't going to be tidily wrapped up for each of our characters because of the slice-of-life type premise, but I want them all to be happy and have everything they need and I'll be super upset if any of them don't have that when this show ends.

Date: 2016-08-21 07:24 pm (UTC)Oh, Jin Myung. I wanted her to get that job so badly. The other girls being so supportive was great. When she had that yelling/sobbing scene I felt like I was watching something so personal, I shouldn't be watching it. I love love that she was the one to kiss Chef. The ending once again broke my heart.
I feel super satisfied with Yi Na's storyline. I'm so glad creepy ahjusshi told her to not feel guilty about surviving and that she was able to move on from that traumatic experience that had her trapped. Again, sad there's only 2 more eps because her adjusting to a new life would be so great for many more episodes.
Eun Jae. Her mom is a mess. I'm intrigued to where this story goes because I totally understand why it seems like the mom has been killing people for insurance money to the investigator guy. Basically my heart is breaking about my fave couple. That scene on the steps was so cute and he was trying to get her to open up and she just left and you could see his sadness and :(
Ji Won. I'm not surprised the "ghost" was fake but I'm annoyed that she didn't say something earlier because it's affecting everyone else so much. I need her to end up with newspaper guy, he totally likes her.
When they were talking about where they'd be in 10 years, I was like yes! Season 2!

Date: 2016-08-22 01:45 am (UTC)I'm crossing all my fingers that your hunch is right as well because I'll be so sad if those two awkward children don't end up happy together.
I love their friendship as well. The party, all the girls leaving encouraging notes for Jin Myung before her interview, comforting each other, it's just so amazing.

Date: 2016-08-21 08:43 pm (UTC)As someone who is older, this drama has SHOOK me. There are moments I have experienced and the show has made me laugh and weep. It has also made me realize once again (and reminders are always good) that friends and acceptance are important in life and to move on.
Well done JTBC.

Date: 2016-08-21 08:50 pm (UTC)i've been rooting for jin myung and the chef so much, but the date just gave me weird feelings because i knew she was up to no good afterwards. i hope they resolve it, but tbh i'd be fine if she doesn't end up with him. just be happy on your own first, jin myung!!!
i'm glad this episode was focused on ji won, we deserved it! bit annoyed that she couldn't spill te truth about the ghost, but i like how two episodes in a row girls have said goodbye to their ghost now. first yi na in ep 9, and now jin myung. wonder who's next.
MAKNAE COUPLE!!! this actually gave me more hope for them to have a happy ending. i'm glad he wants her to open up, even if he's afraid the truth might be ugly. there was a bts video on vlive of the two of them, and it also showed a scene that hasn't aired yet where she's crying and he comforts her. so i hope that means she'll open up in the end which would increase their survival chances lol.

Date: 2016-08-22 01:34 am (UTC)I'm also really enjoying the 'goodbye to their ghost' thing like you. I'm hoping we can get closure on Eun Jae's story next so she and Sunbae can be adorable once again. I really liked their scene when he was trying so hard to get her to confide in him, it showed that he really cares and wants to be there for her. Please let them be happy together!
(OT but I lurk on ONTD and really enjoyed your international TV show post and have added a few shows to my to-watch list, so thanks!)

Date: 2016-08-22 02:00 am (UTC)YES. I don't want them to make up at the very end. I need a cute kiss scene with the height difference lol
Ahh thank you!! I loved making it haha. Which ones are you interested in watching?

Date: 2016-08-22 02:39 am (UTC)I figured since you put amazing dramas on that list, you probably have great taste. The original title of Lovesick made me completely ignore it when it came on Netflix, but I think I'll check it out now and also Gran Hotel. I've seen praise for Happy Valley at various places online but haven't looked into it much so I think that'll also go on my list.

Date: 2016-08-21 08:57 pm (UTC)i need ji won to show more of her mature/introspective side, finally come clean to everyone and smooch sung min already. he's soooo into her.
it's not looking good for eun jae's mum (who i kinda dislike, yikes she's an immature mess. must be exhausting to have a mother like that). i hope maknae couple pull through and she stops pushing him away :(
yi na's amazing and hwayoung is shaping up to be an actress with potential imo!

Date: 2016-08-22 12:04 am (UTC)How cute was Yina trying to get her bed comfortable for Jinmyung?? Pretending to be all nonchalant but she totally cares. I love their friendship.
Yeeun gets a lot of flack but the girl does have a good heart. She cares about her friends and is maturing at her own pace, in her own way.

Date: 2016-08-22 01:03 am (UTC)Jin Myung. I cried with her. I was so pissed about the manager stooping THAT low because he couldn't have his way with her. And then had the audacity to think he was about to hit her? I found it bad ass how JM held her head upright, daring him to do it. I don't think anybody would have stayed calm in that situation, but JM kept her cool despite the Manager doing everything he could to torture her. She was clearly upset about not getting the position she wanted, and naturally, she blew up. I'm very confused about the ending of Ep 10. I felt like she was going to commit suicide after going to put her brother to rest. But her mom killing her brother oddly doesn't surprise me? I felt like Mom was the one who did something the first time there was an incident with the brother.
I'm also happy for Ye Eun finding ways to cope with her breakup by being active and staying busy. I just hope that she will find peace with being single. She doesn't like to be alone, and it could set her up for a similar relationship to the one she just got out of. I'll never be more proud of her than when she ended that fine ass jerk while meeting him on the street, lol. The levels to that swerve were inspiring.
I found myself irritated that the insurance investigator couldn't just flat out say what he wanted to Eun Jae. Like, I understand that he felt bad for approaching her about it, but some people prefer if you rip the bandage off quickly rather than slowly, lol. Eun Jae's mom has the behavior of a teenager and I felt the poor girl's frustration. They have a tricky situation. EJ must have accidentally had something to do with her brother and/or father's deaths. Heavy.
Ji Won is taking on a lot for telling a lie, but her interview at the end of Ep 10 was so intriguing. She's incredibly perceptive, I honestly believed her....but then again she's incredible at lying. Hmm. What was her reasoning for doing it if she felt like her roommates weren't keeping secrets? And why does her ear ring like that if she doesn't see ghosts? Who is Hyo Jin? So many questions and only two episodes left? Impossible, lol. Random, but I love how Ji Won tortures her newspaper buddy. They have a really nice friendship, and I hope it grows into something more.
I really love Yi Na's character growth....and her male friend...I just want it to happen for them. He's obviously into her, but I felt like he may have been envious that he's not able to drop the life he lives and move on? I'm glad that she decided on her own to leave the lifestyle behind and give a "normal" lifestyle a shot. She's still denying how much she loves and cares about Jin Myung. The scene with her trying to make her bed comfortable was so cute and sweet.
The show everyone needs and doesn't deserve.

Date: 2016-08-22 06:24 am (UTC)I was so scared because I thought JinMyung was going to commit suicide and then it switched to thinking she was going to kill her brother. I wonder what happened, did her mom pull her brother's plug? There's gotta be something behind that since this is the woman who didn't even apply for disability benefits because she thought her son would wake up anytime.
I need maknae couple to work out, there are just so cute. Also, does that weird guy EunJae liked before remind anyone else of Byun Yohan's character from Misaeng?
I need JiWon to get some type of action, she deserves it for everything else she's done(besides lying about the ghost). Idk why she lied but I also feel like she kind of CAN see ghosts, she's just been acting so weird sometimes about it. Maybe she doesn't want to believe that she can so she lied about lying? Hmm
I was so proud when YiNa applied for that job, get it girl!

Date: 2016-08-22 02:39 pm (UTC)Man, I was so afraid of that creepy ahjusshi would strangle her or something when Yi Na went to see him at his place. I am actually glad that the ahjusshi was open-minded in the end and Yi Na could let go of such traumatizing incident! And I am glad she got woke to her senses and led a normal life~ I am happy she got a job! I also want her and her male friend to happen. Seriously, let it happen please.
Jin Myung.... when she finally broke down and asked that freaking manager to apologize to her, I felt so sad for her :( She had to endure so much and worked so hard! When Jin Myung suddenly quit the job, paid the loans, went on dates (that kiss was sweet yet bitter. bittersweet? I want them to end up together too)... I thought she wanted to be free (not tied down with so many things), just go with the flow and live life to the fullest! But I knew deep down, there was something more to that. I had a feeling she would either kill herself or she would end her brother's life. I guess her mom beat her to it? Or she did actually end her brother's life but her mom covered up for her........
Just what happened with Eun Jae and her father? Did she really killed him? She said something about how her mom should be thankful that she did something. What? But why? Omg I have so many questions right now in my mind, hopefully it'll be answered in the next episode! Also, I wish Eun Jae would just open up to her boy? :( Be brave, my child. I am sure he's all ears. I coud relate to Eun Jae a bit on her shy reserved self though.
As for Ji Won, please you and that newspaper boy have to be an item. She's always going on and on how she wish she had a guy and all. Well, I hope newspaper boy is the one for you :p
Who's Hyo Jin though? The ballet girl?
I did not regret watching this drama! I thought it would be boring but nope, it wasn't! It was entertaining and just so real. Two more episodes and I wonder how everything will be answered within two episodes. I can't wait! I hope all girls have a happy ending!

Date: 2016-08-24 12:01 am (UTC)When Eun Jae originally found her shoes etc I figured that she had died as well but then in the first ep she ran into her in the bathroom at school and old roommate also had a super small scene with Jin Myung in the cafeteria. I assume if she was the actual ghost the girls would assume that instead of thinking the ghost was some person from their distant past.
