Jackson on Fighting Man ep6 (160819)

WATCH ► part 1 // part 2
All of the missions involving the Korean market/delivery have been hilarious, watch Jackson and Jingteng try and woo the Korean girl at the shop or Shuo and Kai struggle at delivering their packages at the market.
OP is not sure how many people are watching this but OP's gonna pull a Jackson and do random advertising in the middle of her OP note:
*:・゚✧This show is honestly entertainment at its finest, with OTT editing and "go big or go home" crazy missions that make OP clutch his heart (and feel exhausted just by looking at them). And the interactions between the cast are super cute?? I myself jumped into this not knowing anyone except Jackson, but all of the guys (Wang Kai, Yang Shuo, Xiao Jingteng, Jing Boran, Bai Jingting, and Jackson) seem like great people based on this.
The first 13min of this episode are a re-introduction of the cast and a quick look at the missions so far for those who're not familiar with the series yet. There was also a discussion thread in the previous post about which order to watch episodes 1-5. This is also a great episode to start with ^__^ *:・゚✧
This show gets better by each episode, even if they're

Date: 2016-08-22 02:32 am (UTC)I feel so bad for Wang Kai and Yang Shuo, they got the hardest task since they don't speak Koreans. It would've been better that Jackson and Jingteng got it. Poor Xiao Bai, don't have much fans against Boran. Well it's okay baby, you're young, you'll have some movies and dramas line up in the future.
A brief summary regarding the cast:
Wang Kai is a current big star actor, especially due to the critically acclaimed hit drama Nirvana In Fire and The Disguiser, while Boran is in major box office hits like Monster Hunt and recently Time Raiders ( with Luhan). Xiao Jingteng is Jam Hsiao, a very famous musician/singer from Taiwan. Yang Shuo is a famous veteran actor in China. While Bai Jing Ting is still young, there's not much on him on the web, but I believed he's considered one of the young rising actor in China.
Jackson is in the hands of so many famous legit people with massive fandoms LOL. Wang Kai has a growing fandom due to Nirvana In Fire, Boran is getting so big with his movies, and Jingteng ( Jam Hsiao) is so respected and famous for his singing and songs. ( He should give Got7 a song or collab with them LOL).
Jam Hsiao ( Xiao Jingteng )

Date: 2016-08-22 08:13 am (UTC)I've grown quite attached to this cast, so i'm in that point where i want to start checking everyone out outside of the show! It seems i have some movie/tv series and music to catch up on!
Jingteng sounds great wow! And i'm so hf a collab with Got7, tbh!

Date: 2016-08-22 10:28 pm (UTC)Monster Hunt was cute, Boran is very cute in it and he's a pretty capable actor. I just watched Time Raiders and he and Luhan was very good in it. I heard Boran's team and Luhan's team has some beef, but i like them both so i don't care for that. Luhan is also doing great on RMC. He was also in the Chinese remake of Queen Inhyun's Man called Love Weaves Through a Millennium. Boran was also in a duo called BOBO. Both members were in the drama Prince of Tennis 2, the chinese version.
Boran, has a very beautiful voice as well LOL.

Date: 2016-08-23 06:38 am (UTC)Wow, Boran sure does a lot of things, acting and music wise, get that exposure bb!
I think i'll watch both of those films, i'm really in the mood for some typical blockbuster action films! And judging from the trailer he looks so cute in Monster Hunt.
It's gonna be so weird seeing Luhan in Time Raiders, lol! I kind of last track of him when he left Exo and now i'm gonna see him act in big movies, he's done good for himself!
Damn that cast and their beautiful voices! They should all get together and release a Fighting Man track! The rest, if they can't sing, will be in the MV, lol!

Date: 2016-08-22 09:54 am (UTC)Thanks for the info on the cast! I'd heard people mention Wang Kai and Nirvana in Fire, but I didn't know the others were that popular also :o so does this mean Fighting Man is quite a popular show? What a great opportunity for Jackson to get his name out there and meet with other influential people in the (Chinese) industry!

Date: 2016-08-22 10:44 pm (UTC)Since it's an online show, i don't really know if it's big, but I know for sure these men's fandom are huge so it's definitely exposing Jackson to China and other markets more. I think the show is catching up in popularity online. I read that for this episode it got 5 million views in a couple of hours? But meeting influential people is the idea here, especially the current 'it' people. He Jiong alone is like a connection notebook for Jackson LOL. And with Jackson's personality, everybody in China will love him.
China industry is very close knit in a way, most actors became very close friends since their Academy days or through their first project and afterwards. The Industry is very opened in terms of dating and friendships so it helped, honestly, I think it's less manipulative than the k-industry. It's too big to manipulate, you just have to make lots of friends and be opened and friendly to each other, collaborates if you want to survive in the long run. You can't become this big shot and all your other dramas from here on will have you as lead only and your support cast will be upcoming rookies ( Kdrama industry). One thing I love about c-ent is that you'll see big names in one project if the project is high profile or just big named friends wanting to do a project together.

Date: 2016-08-23 08:34 pm (UTC)just hoping he isn't too overworked :(, I mean with his personality like you said it's hard not to love him, he's perfect for variety shows. I hope he finds great success soon.I've never seen Korea be this OTT with the editing, only on the Chinese shows I've seen, I wonder what it is haha.
For an online show they have a quite big budget to do all these crazy stunts and missions no? I feel like with the cast that they have and the over-the-top missions it'd be quite popular.

Date: 2016-08-25 05:43 am (UTC)Unlike other shows in China fans of each cast member like other cast members and all fandoms adore Jackson. They take photos of him and talk about him which is a good thing. Because of Fighting Man more people know who he is. Yesterday he was mentioned on Ent news in China.

Date: 2016-08-25 06:53 am (UTC)Aaanyways, for someone who doesn't know much of these things (me), is trending on Weibo a very good thing? And being mentioned on Ent News and so on. As far as I know Jackson wants to be known in all of China lol but how well is he really doing there? Sorry if this is random.

Date: 2016-08-25 07:12 am (UTC)Measuring popularity and success is hard but his fanbase is growing very fast according to my Chinese speaking friends, and his fans are able to compete with biggest fandoms in contests for ads in Korea and China for example (company is offering an ad for a fandom that votes the most). For example, today he was 2nd behind TF Boys member in a contest for newspaper ad (https://twitter.com/HeyYouNotYouYuu/status/768674633318961152). In polls with male idols famous in China he's usually leading or he's one of the top. His fans can afford to buy huge ads for him, organise many birthday projects (like here https://twitter.com/HeyYouNotYouYuu/status/768319613390036992)
Being from JYPE, especially now when Korean groups and K-pop is criticised in China is not helping him, everyone says he could be more successful and get more offers if he had a studio but JYPE never did something like this before so I don't think it's going to happen.
He has two endorsements and he didn't lose them after the ban happened. Gained 2.8m followers on Weibo after opening it on March 29. He's now 2nd most followed JYPE artist on Weibo after Khun but he gets more likes and shares than him. He's the most successful JYPE artist in China already but he can't get far unless he's given a studio.
About that manager, he worked with Khun before and didn't take care of him (https://twitter.com/fluffywangs/status/768687600332709888) but JYPE never fired them, he's still working and flying with Jackson to China. Jackson also has another manager with him who's the one who didn't cover him during the rain and didn't help him when he was sweating because of the heat. I'm glad that fans spoke up but I'm not sure if anything is going to change. I'm worried that Jackson might be treated worse because his fans stood up for him ):

Date: 2016-08-25 08:21 am (UTC)Hmm, could he possibly start his own studio or is it strictly the job of the company to manage that (I guess he doesn't have money to do it anyways)? JYPE should foster his Chinese advances rather than hinder him. It seems like he's completely on his own in his China-activities :(
It's bad if fans make it worse yet they're the only ones standing up for him. It's not the job of the fans to check this things anyways :(

Date: 2016-08-22 08:09 am (UTC)This show gets better by each episode, even if they're 1h 30min 1h 50min long (according to Jackson)
Lmao at Jackson, but i agree wholeheartedly that the show keeps getting better and better!
Ok, i loved this episode! I didn't know they had filmed more episodes in Korea so that was a pleasant surprise! (and i also saw some other pics floating around from stuff they shot in Korea, so even more to come!)
Jackson and Boran are the best when they're interacting with each other, that thigh battle was hilarious. True Tom and Jerry couple, tbh!
The whole sleepover was cute too, Jing Ting helping Yang Shuo change, bless him, and Boran poking Jackson awake with his foot, lmao!
The mission they had to pair up in groups of two was everything! Jackson and Jingteng making fools of themselves in front of that girl, Wang Kai and Yang Shuo struggling to find their way around AND forgetting about getting payed lmao, and the waitering duo doing everything for those smileys!
PS i do also agree with the OP about this being a great starting point, with that little recap and re-introduction of the cast
(or if you just wanna waste a few seconds looking at Wang Kai being adorable while he giggles at everything!)

Date: 2016-08-22 10:04 am (UTC)I've been really warming up to the series by each episode, and the Korea episodes have been some of my favorites!
no subject
Date: 2016-08-22 08:12 pm (UTC)They forgot to get paid, and then took less money than they were supposed to! And Kai's little pout when he was telling Yang Shuo that he got paid half the money, and he doesn't want to go back! (the whole montage with the lady teaching him how to wash the dishes fast, and his reactions, were hilarious!)
Lol, i love it when they try to cheat! Boran and Jing Ting trying to be sly with those smiley stickers! :D
Yeah the Korea episodes are fun, but generally speaking each episode is better than the last one so i'm really happy!
I hope the show does well in China too!
