Following Kangin’s first trial for his DUI case today, the results have been revealed.

The prosecution has demanded that the singer be charged with a fine for 7 million won (approximately $6,300) for driving while under the influence of alcohol.

According to reports, during the trial Kangin stated, “A person whose face is known needs to be careful, so I am deeply self-reflecting. I will make sure this doesn’t happen again.

The prosecution revealed this sentence was decided upon due to having had a previous DUI case but also considering the fact that he turned himself in to the police.

Previously, Kangin hit a streetlight after drinking alcohol in May. His final trial is scheduled to take place on September 7 at 10 a.m. KST.

A person who is driving a potentially dangerous device needs to be careful..
Fix it for you

I don't even want to deal with him anymore after that statement.

I might be reading into his words, but if his major concern is that being a celebrity he needs to be more careful as to not get caught, it shows he learned nothing this time either and we can expect future display of the same behavior. Who knows, next time he might hit a human.

He is reckless, unwilling to sincerely reflect and change and therefore a danger to the rest of daily traffic. Paying a fine is not a sufficient punishment for this sort of mindset. Why not take away his license for two years at least to get one more danger off the streets?

Couldn't have said it better myself, good sis.
I have zero sympathy for those who drive impaired.
Screw this POS.

It definitely is. When she told me the story I was in disbelief that something like that could happen. And knowing how messed up she /still/ is about it makes it even worse

Maybe I'm reading too much into this but it feels like he's sorry that he did it bc he, the celebrity should hold clean image thus he's the bad public persona and not bc it's wrong thing to do in general, like am I supposed to be like oh, poor you, shame you're not regular guy bc in that case it wouldn't be that hard for you?!

Gosh, does he really think it's about him being famous. It shows he has no clue how dangerous his actions are and that he hasn't learnt anything.
So disappointed. I thought he was decent after his ilitary service.

Yes, his statement is basically "Sorry that I was a bad kind of celebrity and got caught while celebrities should have clean image" instead of "Sorry bc what I've done was wrong"

He doesn't even apologize for his wrongdoing -- that alone says how little he thinks of the consequences his actions could've had and how out of reality he is about this whole situation

if he'd have deeply self-reflected the first time this wouldn't have happened again. The fine needs to be MUCH bigger and he should have his licence revoked/be banned from driving for a period of time.

he's only sorry he got into trouble, not that he could have killed someone. he said it himself.

“A person whose face is known needs to be careful, so I am deeply self-reflecting. I will make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

He's infuriating.

He barely has to pay $7000 and he's even appealing for a lighter penalty. Gross.

So if his face wasn't known (not a celb) drunk driving is just fine?

People are killed by drunk drivers, he was lucky that lamp post wasn't a person. I really hope there is no next time, someone could die next time.
I can't believe this pos has the nerve to complain his sentence was too harsh. He still has a driver's licence.

Between him and Yoochun, and KHJ I'm so disappointed in kpop.
