BLACKPINK has made it to the top of Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart with both of their debut title tracks. “Boombayah” is currently no. 1, while “Whistle” is no. 2. Following close behind is EXO’s “Monster.”
YG Entertainment said on August 17, “This is a first for a Korean rookie girl group.”
Thus, BLACKPINK continues to make waves with their powerful debut.
Including a music chart all-kill upon release, views for the group’s two title track music videos have also reached staggering highs, currently standing at 13.2 million and 15.4 million respectively for “Whistle” and “Boombayah.”

Date: 2016-08-17 02:05 pm (UTC)I think the original plan was to release 8 songs/videos by the end of the year but i doubt it will happen. I think YG was planning a "throw everything at the wall and hope something sticks" strategy but since hit big with their first (second?) release i suspect he will now feel like he doesn't need to. Which i think is a mistake because both Twice and GFriend were smart enough to capatalise on big comebacks with follow up songs.
