Hey guys, by now I'm sure you've seen this video:

And this one reacting to it:

This week we got Jessica from The Jess Lyfe Youtube channel to expand a bit more on what she saw and experienced at KCON LA 2016.

She came through to talk about everything from being a youtuber to cultural appropriation, to being accused of being a coon to travelling while black.
We had a great time doing this interview so I hope you enjoy it!

Ending song: Telepathy-Christina Aguilera & Nile Rodgers (from The Get Down OST)

Jess video should get a post of its own tbh
She sums up everything that is wrong with some korean rappers taking it too far and going from "rapping" (which is fine) to "cosplaying as black stereotypes"

She does seem very cool (and very pretty - I'm weak to pretty people)
And I honestly felt like she hit the nail on the head

I hope it won't last, people should take a step back and realize she's not attacking anyone she's just saying what she saw
What she felt, and she's really saying it like it is
Rapper (be it in kpop or else) really try to emulate black culture and always end up being offensive
Rapping doesn't require a "costume" or to wear "stereotype"

But fandom is just like any other big crowd, it makes people dumb and insensitive

Fans would rage (rightfully so), but the thing is people only care when it's close to home

Kpop fans are very (too) protective or their idols to the point where they don't care if it's hurtful to anyone else until "anyone else" is them
That's the fandom mentality and I'm afraid it won't change

I wish I knew how to make posts...that whole video deserved a post here. It's so important.
