On August 13’s episode of “Infinite Challenge,” the cast meets up with hit girl group GFRIEND in Los Angeles to take on a challenge together!

The guys of “Infinite Challenge” are in Los Angeles in part to help fulfill Jung Joon Ha’s mission of riding one of the scariest roller coasters in the world. GFRIEND arrives to give them a helping hand at the theme park first, and they’re all given the mission of singing a duet on a ride with one of the “Infinite Challenge” members. However, Jung Joon Ha and his partner from GFRIEND will be doing the special mission of eating spaghetti while they’re on the roller coaster.

Eunha asks the other members if anyone wants to be do the spaghetti mission, and Yoo Jae Suk says she seems eager herself. “Actually, since we’ve been here in the United States, I’ve had pizza and hamburgers but I haven’t had spaghetti,” she says, and with that it’s decided she’ll be doing the mission with Jung Joon Ha.

Naturally, many of the members’ “duets” on the roller coaster turn into more screaming than singing. Amazingly, when Eunha and Jung Joon Ha try to eat spaghetti on the ride, Eunha manages to do it like a pro, as Jung Joon Ha screams and gets his spaghetti all over his face, as well as the members of GFRIEND behind them!

The project behind Block B’s Zico and the “Infinite Challenge” cast’s collaboration is revealed on the August 13 episode of MBC program “Infinite Challenge.”

During the episode, the “Infinite Challenge” members make their way to Los Angeles, California in order to help Jung Joon Ha accomplish his mission. They meet up with Zico who is already in Los Angeles for a performance, and head to Art District in Downtown LA, a hot spot for music videography.

There, the “Infinite Challenge” films the music video for new hip hop track “Hit Da Hit,” for which Zico made the beat and the cast members wrote the lyrics.

It also looks like Infinite Challenge also went on the SkySlide, I'm so jealous I need to do that soon!

The whole subbed episode is already out =).

Just watched. I abhor roller coasters so these guys are braver than I'll ever be, ha, but I would do that glass slide thing.

Infinite Challenge and hip hop should not go together, their idea of comedy is playing up stereotypes which is a yikes. Though it had that feel of a Fresh Prince of Bel-Air parody too. (Glad Zico was dressed as a Rugrat and not in the grills and chains tbh)

The part with Zico is a mess but no surprised there. Probably won't be watching his section to be honest.

my question is how they didn't get in trouble for bringing food on the ride...especially with how rude/stict park staff in LA are lmao (and the liabilities of doing such a thing)

A friend linked me to this, and I feel it's important (not trying to jump on or hijack your post OP, but this is relevant to the 'hip-hop video' portion of this ep)

Thank you for sharing this.
Of course the comments are disgusting and are full of blatant attempts to shout her down, and it's way too late for me to get my blood pressure up, but it is SO important to see how black people, and especially black fans, feel and are affected by this bs.

Yeah, the comment section was really saddening. So many people claiming they're just "doing what they see in rap videos" and "what do you expect?"... the innate problem is imitating and appropriating a part of a culture/people you don't understand and enforcing stereotypes through that. The fact that they had black people there to 'legitimise' it just makes it worse.

I usually read YT comments, but I know which times to avoid that section. This was one of those times where I did not avoid that section and I wished I did. The HOOPS these pieces of shits are going through to tell her why she shouldn't be upset...AND the tap dancing from the black kpop fans? Nope. Not today.

I can't get with her the stuff she was saying about Zico, because he's been there, done that MANY a time. So her being shocked that he was taking part, shocked me. Like if this was GD taking part, the last thing I'd be is surprised.

I thought she was clear in what was offensive about it and yet so many people are still being ignorant and missing the very obvious point. As for the black k-pop fans defending the show, being white I didn't want to talk over their opinions on this; but when I read their thoughts it did seem as if they were too young or simply blinded by the fact that it's Korean people/celebrities to get the point she was making. Somehow the point always comes around that black people are to blame for the stereotypes placed against them. Now these vultures even have black fans willing to excuse their stupidity, which is so ridiculous and troubling.

I also agree ie Zico, if you want to be a fan etc. then that's totally your right, but no one should be shocked that he'd engage with something like this. It's not like it's just the distant past where he's exhibited this sort of behaviour, I don't expect better from him.

Exactly. People are explaining to them why it's wrong and they're being willfully ignorant. The video literally explained why she was upset.

Yeah I mean I don't always agree with Jesslyfe on everything mainly her defending Bambam and other non black poc being able to use the n-word and saying back people need to do better. I told myself I would stop watching her videos after that one but she was right. So many Korean reality shows, dramas, and mvs play off stereotypes of black people that I am very cautious of what I chose to watch. I just hate when these things come up its always black people that are told to be more understanding one. When are Korean entertainment companies going to be held responsible for what they do, people cant keep blaming it on "not knowing any better" when these companies keep trying to brag about the "Hallyu wave" they have a responsibility then to know better.

Oh she did that? That's... yeah, that's something. I don't tend to watch many Youtubers, even ones that focus on k-pop (especially because they can just be corny and not criticise anyone/thing, at all), so I'm not aware of too many of their viewpoints etc.

I totally agree, if all you're going to do is mock and misappropriate a culture you're looking at... just don't look at it. I think what's worse is that there's a clear lack of will to understand. People can say that they're influenced by the image rappers show, but there's so many that don't show the one they mock... so they're clearly only seeing what fits in with their preconceived stereotype. In this age of readily available information it's a cop-out and ignorant to claim you can't research to understand why something's offensive. That goes extra for English-speaking/reading employees/celebrities.

Yeah I usually don't watch Youtubers either but I heard about her from tumblr and told myself to stay clear of her after that. When people want validation for saying the word she is the type of person they look to and that bothers me.

Right especially rappers today. Like the stereotypes they are using are literally 90's gangsta rap, its so outdated. There are even mainstream rappers that don't dress and act like that. Not that there is even a problem with those who do but what I am saying is that you don't have to act stereotypical to do hiphop. Right and celebrities who are from other countries. Zico studied abroad in Canada, he knows whats up.

I did hear though that the people in the video are a hiphop record label in the 80's so they aren't just random black men. However infinity challenge cast themselves didn't need to put on a hiphop act to do hiphop and thats where the problem lies. I really don't care what black people cosign this stuff.

Totally. The problem isn't that black people use the word, it's that everyone else feels so entitled to culture. The same way they want to wear gold chains and 'put on black accents' for fun, is the same way they want to use the n-word to seem cool because it's all just a costume for them. They're not using the n-word because they respect black people all that much. I was always taught not to say it, and it wasn't difficult for me to grasp why; those that carry on using it (even after being told) clearly don't care.

It really is outdated, for every rapper that brags primarily about gold chains or whatever, I can show you 10 who don't. Even for the mainstream ones that mention it, I feel like it's not hugely overdone to the point of encouraging the stereotype? Like they'll mention their jewellery or whatever, but it's not the focus (though IA, it doesn't matter if they do). Zico definitely knows what's up... this is the same guy who used the n-word, was told not to, and after a few shows of not saying it, then used it again.

Yeah, it's not about the co-signing, it's really about them thinking it's okay in the first place. If they really wanted to do a hip-hop parody (which is kind of "why?" to begin with), they could've done it without applying stereotypes. If the hope was to mock themselves for not being cool, it would've been more effective to dress them in the least 'hip-hop' clothes possible. Because doing it how they did mocks the culture more so than the people doing the parody.

ah, I was literally going to comment about this. I love TheJessLyfe and saw this vid a while ago. I've been dreading the release of this ep since she spoke out about it, and it looks to be 100% what she feared. =(

I'd tolerate him on shows if he were entertaining, but he never really does much to make me want to watch.
His most entertaining moment was when Jessi clapped back at him

Here it is unsubbed (at the beginning)

Basically Jessi got last place and her penalty was that she couldn't participate for the track at a club concert that night.
Zico says "I heard you went to another club instead or ours" basically rubbing it in her face that she couldn't participate for the track.

The whole thing's subbed here (around 28 mins)
