I think he worked with a bunch of korean label, did a few interviews (mamamoo, purfle, Grace) he doesn't really fanboy and keep things pretty neutral and actually goes into details and not your usual "reaction video"

I liked Whistle more than Boombaya but it was nice hearing why he had a different opinion with music-focused reasons.
I agree that BlackPink is bringing something different from 2NE1, but rather from Whistle's concept/sound and how they seemed to have been selected to mesh well together (similar ages, looks, even the voices don't go from one extreme like Bom to another extreme like Dara) than from Boombaya's concept/sound (really 2NE1) and group roles.

I'm so weak because I've been replaying those MVs so much since yesterday, damnit YG, don't mess up with them this time

Bunch of people were saying they didn't like how the songs felt disjointed, but he didn't point that out so does this mean that they aren't?

I like how he pointed out the different elements in whisper and the changes he'd make even if he said those would be minor details, and it would be cool to hear his version of the song because I like the stripped down vibe of it. Wish he had done the same with boombayah, but he just said he likes it

I agree that they're like the new 2NE1 but not in the sense that jennie = CL and etc, but in the sense that they play off elements from 2NE1 while still bringing new stuff to the table. They're more like 2NE1's babies instead of replacements

OP!!! thank you for posting this! tbh i came to this post to ask who tf was this guy too lmaooo but when I read he reviewed kpop in like a professional way I was interested and I'm so glad I watched it because I love every single thing about this. I love reading proper music reviews (I mean, I'm literally going to college to be an arts/entertainment journalist/critic so this hit me right in the kokoro).

I'm glad he likes blackpink and I agree a lot with what he said and tbh right now I'm watching a bunch of his videos because I love what he has to say.

I watch some of videos, mostly to the groups that I like just to see what a "professional" music type person thinks of the overall production of the song.

Honestly not gonna lie, when his video started getting posted here I was confused as to why, but I quickly got over that.

Plus omona has different stages of Kpop fans here: the been at it for a long time so nothing really interest me anymore so I'll crap on it fan, the brand spanking new Kpop fan, the almost hall way out of Kpop of it were for the group I Stan fan, the woke Kpop fan, and the my groups been dragged through the mud here so I'm waiting for another group to fuck up fan.

I like BP's two songs, but boombayah sounds like it was recorded in a closet and Whistle is hot but their vocals are lacking. This guy is more enjoyable than watching fans scream for 4 minutes straight. He pisses off so many fans tho it's hilarious.
