BLACKPINK to Debut on August 8 Through a Showcase and a V Live Show

BLACKPINK will debut in the afternoon of August 8 in a debut showcase. The members of BLACKPINK will stand before the public for the first time, and their debut single will be officially released at 8 PM on the same day.

On July 29, YG announced that BLACKPINK will debut at 8 PM on August 8. Since then, it has posted teaser images and countdown posters as well as new about the group’s music videos and first appearance on TV on its official blog.

BLACKPINK’s debut single and music video will be revealed for the first time during the showcase. In addition, they will be doing a live show on Naver V App to communicate more effectively with the fans.

YG’s main producer TEDDY, who also produced a number of hit songs for 2NE1 and BIGBANG, has been given the task of writing, composing, and directing all the songs of BLACKPINK. It’s no wonder that people are expecting high quality music.

TEDDY also came to see BLACKPINK when they were shooting their music videos to offer them advice and gave support. BLACKPINK’s music and music videos will surely be something different and reflect each member’s unique personality.

i feel like Teddy's recent songs aren't as good as what he did back in the day ? maybe its just age or not having the same instinct with music? idk what it is but having him as main producer has me questioning whatever sound these girls will have. also because he was so involved with 2ne1 and now with bp i can't help but expect some sort of 2ne1 2.0 in terms of sound and im not really here for that. basically i just want bp to have a diff sound than 2ne1 and to hopefully have their own "uniqueness". (but if im being honest with myself, everything about bp seems to be a prettier 2ne1 + with the recent death of 2ne1, its kinda clear yg wants bp at the forefront of his female artists).

Yeah whenever theres a new bp article theyre always marketed as "visuals with talent". Which is fine but knowing it comes from yg and how he's always referring to 2ne1 as uglies it just pisses me off.
2ne1 never deserved hearing such hard words from their own ceo. Jut unnecessary. Also i bet putting so much focus on bps visuals is lowkey pressuring the girls to keep a certain figure. I just hope they're all healthy when trying to remain skinny (but knowing how music industry works i feel like im being very naive lol)
