idc what anyone says... she sounds great. especially in that video that isn't the duet

granted her technique isn't ideal but proper vocal training will make her even better than she already is. she's only 19.

i hate jype for making her a main vocalist -- they should've gone the miss a route with unofficial positions. not only would she not have all these expectations placed onto her, but she would be seen as the incredibly well-rounded member in any other group

Damn they both sounded really good together. I also really love this pairing (if it really is dk which I'm at least 60% sure of) - because I hate hearing ppl say she can't sing cause she can - it's just that (as much as I love twice) I feel like their songs don't do jihyos voice justice at all and cause dk is seemingly the much less appreciated main vocal (I love seungkwan but it still hurts me how on 17project no one ever complimented DK at all)

She can sing but yeah their songs aren't meant for her vocals and they tone it down a lot for the rest of the group... i didn't know DK was underappreciated, i thought most people agreed he's the best singer in 17. His voice is the most stable, his technique is the best, he almost never sounds off-key or out of breath... It confused me on that show how they/he acted like he was such a burden/regular vocal when he's easily one of the best singers in kpop in a while... tf?

underappreciated might not have been the best word now that I look back lol - I meant that people seem to compliment seungkwan (especially his high note capabilities) more? Which sucks because they're both such great singers that contribute different vocal aspects to their songs imo.

I'm just glad he's finally having a chance to show his talents - hopefully he gets far enough next round lol

as much as i like his voice, dk is actually kinda overrated. he has good stamina so he's the most stable during live performances but techincally seungkwan is actually a better singer than him. most fans seem to think dk is better bc he doesn't crack as often as seungkwan, however, when he isn't given obnoxious high notes and doesn't have to dance while singing, seungkwan is superior.

that said, seungkwan already got his time to shine on duet song festival so it's seokmin's turn now.

Tbh Twice's songs aren't flattering for anyone's voice. They're split between cutesy talking verses and high pitched, shouty choruses. I genuinely expected Jihyo to sound much worse here than she did based off of Twice's performances LOL. I guarantee her and Nayeon will have vocal nodes within two years if JYP keeps giving them songs and parts like the ones they are doing currently.

I read somewhere that jihyo has a more low range voice (kinda like hani apparently? I don't know exid enough to make a comparison) so I Definitely agree that if twice keeps up with their shouty choruses (which nayeon/ jihyo are probably going to get by default as main vocals) - they'll probably hurt their voices at some point

Jihyo's voice is really nice wow. I casually like twice's music so when I first saw this clip I had no idea it was her and even watching both vids they sound like completely different people to me.

And DK was the definition of unsubtle lol
