yeah, this ""trend"" of female leads way younger than male leads (and with girls underage) needs to die. I get that we've some child/teenage actresses that are talented and already popular, but we also have women in the same age group than the male leads and they're not getting these roles. it's not exclusive from korea, but is a problem anyway. :/
the only drama I'm watching with this kind of leading couple is mirror of the witch and although I think the script is doing a good job with how the love line is being shown, I can't 100% enjoy the ride because I can't ignore their 14 years gap. and I really like them.
tbh at least Bogum/Yoojung have only a 6 year gap, it's not ideal but it's not as bad as the 10-15 year age gaps Kim So Hyun and Kim Sae Ron have with their latest leading men. I can't get into those dramas because p much any scenes involving skinship or ~romantic vibes make me want to vom, and this despite the fact that I adore all the actors involved (except Taecyeon). Kim So Hyun especially deserves better.

I mean, people have been shipping KYJ with Lee Min Ho '93 for years, tho that was worse to me since she was 12 at the time. And if I could live with Kim So Hyun (also a '99 kid) being paired with '94er Nam Joo Hyuk, I can deal w this one since Bogum is only a year older than that.
I side-eyed beautiful minds with jang hyuk and park sodam's 15 years age gap, but at least she's an adult. all the teen actresses tho, being paired and playing adult characters really bothers me because they shouldn't be doing this. sageuk make it a bit easier to "blur" the line with ages, but modern drama is "on your face" lol idk a lot about kim so hyun's drama - only that it has ghosts involved - so I don't really know if she's playing a teenager or an adult, but I saw some screencaps and the skinship.... just no.
yes that my problem, if the gap is big I dont mind if they are adults, but with teens and barely adults, is like why? Im sure they can find young actors or female age appropriate, or like in secret love affair , Yoo Ah In was playing a teen but he was like 27, and was like 20 year gap btw the couple.
lol was not expecting that but slay me park bogum. He has some moves and that flirty look on his face did me in. I'm on board now although how long depends on the chemistry of all the actors.
I'm not watching this and I'm really disappointed with Bogum for accepting this role. She's not even 17 yet!!! I overreacted and cried a lot actually but Bogum is canceled for me now.
Bogum has accepted the role 1/2 months before Yoojung. If I'm not mistaken, KBS already aimed for him for the leading role when they got the drama on their roaster. They offered the female lead roles to a few actresses (I was hoping Kim Jiwon to get it) but I guess the producers ended up going for Yoojung for the star power she has.
I haven't read the webtoon, but I found out that it's really different from the reality, yikes. Not sure if I wanna watch this fanfiction. As I recall from our lectures, the real prince died at 20, but, as I gathered from the comments, he's supposed to marry Ra On and have kids with her in the end?? What is this bs?? How about Queen Sinjeong then??
I will be soo much happier if she was casted as the lead female tbh. I adore Yoojung so much but she is like Bogum lil sister instead of romantic interest.

haha thats okay. :D K-writers always change the ending (and always try to be clever but failed) so the ending is pretty much unknown at this point. But I was hoping for a happy ending since I kinda tired with sad endings for sageuk in general. I'm a big fan of sageuk but they always make me feel bitter at the end. DX
