Omonavision - Label war round 1

Welcome my honorary eurotrash to the first round of "Label war".

As mentionned in the previous post you will have to pick a song to represent each label in the ultimate k-pop war.
But in these rounds your favorite song will have to be better than similar songs by the same label or even the same artist. So you want to make your song stand out and be THE one.

"But Beni how do I do this?"
Worry no more my friend and come inside.



If you want to make your song stand out, you might want to take a page out of Romania's book.
When thinking about Romania most people would think "DRACULA". And yes this is terribly cliché we all know Romania should be known as the birth place of Sebastian Stan.
But sometimes playing the "cliché" card can be pretty helpful. Hence in 2013 Romania had the grand idea to bless us with the amazing Cezar. And really, what's not to like about a good looking Vampire singing on top of a blood red fabric hiding what looks like naked dancer covered in red paint?

I would spam you with more gif but you should just watch the video.

Following this example you will have to find the song that represent your fave label the best.
So if we're talking about YG, I would suggest picking a hip hop wannabe with tardiness issue; and don't forget they have to be very "free" and so fucking "talented". Real artist.

Now that we're all clear on what to do let's check out how to do it properly so your song doesn't get elminated.

RULES

1. since you all like to make me work I will be making thread for each label.
So if you DARE post your promo outside of these thread the song will be disqualified.

2. Put your stuff under a spoiler

3. non promo comment to talk about the greatest discoveries of your life (me or ESC) can be made outside of those threads.

4. Keep in mind that the ESC is the base for this. So be imaginative with your promo. Glitter, crazy hairdo, ugly outfit are actually a good thing.

5. Use this as an oportunity to make others know about songs you enjoy

6. Have fun, be nice, be friendly

Not a question really, I'm pretty much only here to fight for Co-Ed School against T-Error when the MBK battle arrives (even though we should be super sneaky and Co-Ed should be CCM since they disbanded before the company became MBK)

Okay I lied I'm sorry I do have a question, if we're not really campaigning can we still just be like: "hey this a great song pick this one" just to show support?

Much as Awoo is one of my favorite songs ever, since we're getting our Eurovision on I have to advocate for the gloriously over-the-top dramatic swamp witch goodness that is Manyo Maash, with its subtle slams via mannequin barcodes at the manufactured music of YG/SM -- so appropriate for an indie label -- and ALL THAT LEATHER.

as much as i love queen gain and all she's done for us mortals, i can't not make a case for the visual and audible masterpiece that is awoo by lim kim, produced by primary. the song is amazing, it has a sound that you rarely find in kpop but lim kim pulls it off so well because of her unique tone and delivery. accompanied with the video produced by digipedi, the duo who's brought you other iconic mvs such as dream girl, catallena, and born hater, lim kim gave us one of the best releases of 2015, a claim supported by billboard and spin despite never charting higher than #22 on korean charts






awoo by lim kim has all the fun colourful quirkiness that characterizes kpop as well as the innovative sound and fresh visuals that makes it worthy of representing mystic89!! give the song a listen and the music video a watch to experience tru aesthetic enlightenment

i went in ready to vote awoo but voted for paradise lost. this wound up being a tough category when i only had heard about 2 songs from here and had been obsessed with Awoo.

I picked PL because it's a good unique song like awoo but it seems harder for singers to sing well and interestingly.

I love Lim Kim's music and Gain's Paradise Lost is an amazing alum, but just watching and listening to Puer's MV, it's clear who the real winner here is. Puer has all the distinctive sounds and weirdness that classes Eurovision, as well as a subtle fuck you message to the boring normality of a lot of mass-manufactured kpop. Plus, her voice is JUST as beautiful as Lim Kim's.

Somebody already posted pictures here, but please do vote Puer for a truly eurovision experience.

I voted for Mommae bc the song and especially MV is just AOMG in a nutshell imo.
Try hard, misogynistic and embarrassing but it's still a jam and i listen to it a lot on private session on spotify lolol.

Not campaigning per se, but there is should be no contest that Lollipop represents YG better than any other YG song ever. You basically get two of the most iconic k-pop groups and byproducts of the aforementioned label in a video and song together being their try-hard selves. And for what, the fans? Nope, money, because it's for a damn commercial.

Sellout = YG

Therefore, perfect choice.

If kpop wants to match Cezar's extraness, then Fantastic Baby or I Am The Best is the way to go. Both FB and IATB have the hair styles, the outfits, the makeup, the moves and the banging sound that would rank high in Eurovision, so they should be the go-to songs for Omonavision as well. Lollipop is just too tame imho. And I also feel like more people have gotten into kpop because of FB (me included) than because of Gangnam Style.
