Park Yoochun To Be Acquitted Of Sexual Assault Charges

Police have revealed that Park Yoochun will be acquitted of the four sexual assault charges made against him.

On the morning of July 11, the Seoul Gangnam police said, “As it is difficult to prove the use of force, the charges of sexual assault are not valid. He will be acquitted.” The investigation on the sexual assault charges will be concluded, and the results forwarded to the prosecution by the end of this week or early next week.

With the case largely resolved, police are looking into whether or not 100 million won (approximately $87,300) was given to the first accuser. Police restored texts exchanged between Park Yoochun and the first accuser, and have confirmed several mentions of “100 million won.”

Investigation regarding this exchange of money, alleged blackmail and false accusations by the accusers, prostitution, and possible solicitation of prostitution by Park Yoochun is still ongoing.

Some reports are stating that police have charged the accusers with blackmail and false accusations, although this has yet to be confirmed.


JYJ′s Yu Chun Cleared of All Charges

JYJ′s Yu Chun has been cleared of all sexual charges against him.

On July 11, the Seoul Gangnam Police Department stated, "In regards to Park Yu Chun′s sexual assault accusations, it has been difficult to determine that there was force and it has been decided to clear the charges."

Additionally, investigators have concluded to accept Yu Chun′s countersuit against the first accuser, her boyfriend and her cousin.

It has been confirmed that the first accuser had threatened Yu Chun and received 100 million won from the singer.

I understand that legally-speaking, this kind of case is almost impossible to gain enough evidence for. Just a terrible reality for sexually-related crimes. A lot of people are saying that he's going free purely because he's rich. Not that it has NOTHING to do with it, but I tend to think it's more that Korea is totally shit at dealing with rape... and the rest of the world for that matter.

Again, decriminalization needs to be a thing so sex workers can be better protected from sick shitheads.
I swear to god if these women face further damages from the counter-suits and whatever.... fuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

Generally feeling hopeless that humans will never evolve past this barbarism.
The news overall this week has made me feel more than ever that justice systems are garbage on every level.

On a personal and selfish level, I'm pretty enraged at CJeS. They're not quite the same as a traditional company. Not as much top-down. More the artists directing their own careers with the help of their management. So like there's a bunch of musical actors, drama/movie actors, etc, who have functionally nothing to do with Yoochun, but now there's this association. I love Gummy and Jung Sunah. Wtf do they do? Even for Jaejoong or Junsu who have different managers/staff from each other. Like, do you leave because of the company association, or do you stay because you work with an individual artist that has no connection to the Yoochun/higher-up bullshit?

And while I'd like to continue enjoying Junsu's music because he's mad talented, I wouldn't put it past him to take Yoochun at his word. I honestly think the running joke about him being naive/simple-minded about this kind of thing isn't an act. He might be more likely to believe someone he considered a brother for 14+ years over the news media storm that has hurt him, his family, and his fellow artists for his whole adult life.

I really hope he cuts ties before enlistment.

And I am not looking forward to Yoochun's psycho fans celebrating his "innocence" all over social media. FUCK THAT.

it's ridiculous what constitutes lack of consent in Korea - Needing to prove that the rapist used violence/intimidation that renders resistance impossible or extremely difficult for it to constitute rape is ridiculous. Saying 'NO' itself should be sufficient. Victims react differently. They could be paralysed by fear or feel that it's safer for them to be submissive but that does't mean that they consented. You can't in hindsight say but hey the victim could reasonably have fought back and ran away but she didn't so there isn't a lack of consent.

it's sad whenever the law protects the aggressor rather than the victim. it's devastating that the victims never stood a chance.

idc how many courts declare him not guilty. we all know that most of the rape allegations gets trashed because of the lack of evidence. I feel sad whenever I hear a case of rape getting trashed as if the rape victims should prove first that they were raped.
And what a smartass yoochun is for targeting a very vulnerable population for his disgusting crimes. I'm just glad that his career is over. Although i still find it disgusting that the reason why his career is ending is because of the fact that he slept with prostitutes instead of his alleged rape caseS. what a sad sad world we live in.

I didn't notice that I had one POSYC supporter on my tlist till they retweeted a support tweet about the charges being cleared and I made the mistake of going to their twitter. They're truly delusional. Yes, Yoochun's predatory history was used to help cover up the Lotte World scandal. That still doesn't excuse that this is a very real problem, it doesn't negate that he did/or could have possibly done it.

The complete disconnect that because the media was dragging him means he's innocent baffles me. The tweet to AKP about why didn't the women stop him, so surely they wanted it....and I'm like with what strength? Men are already stronger than women and notice how most of these victims are after his enlistment, when he's had constant physical training.

One of my friends from livejournal, from omona even, we found out we lived close to each other years ago. She met another omona member in the lounge. I finally got to hang out with that person several months ago and she's a big cassiopeia. We're almost exactly the same person, we even have the same dbsk sweatshirts from the same fan order. We took a "couple" photo not a week before the news. It makes me think like, how did these women feel? DBSK is saturated everywhere, how long has this been going on? Even with drama pds claiming he can't come back, his dramas are still listed and played every where. What about his victims that haven't come forward? Or ones that don't even know who he is?

We just came back from seeing GOT7 and we went to noraebang and I almost rage cried when Catch Me came on (my sister put it on for us) and it's like, all my time and energy into this? i can't help but feel that the women would've gotten even a little justice if they weren't sex workers. so often people think sex workers don't have ownership over their bodies because of their work even though they're just providing a service like any job. i hope there are non-profits that offer support for sexual assault survivors especially sex workers in korea, so these women can get some support. also there need to be women's organizations fighting for changes in the law, so it could be easier to convict someone of rape. i just wish pyc career was ruined because he is a rapist and not because the public sees sex workers as unrespectable women. i just can't get angry anymore. it makes me sad...
