Currently listening and obsessing over Distance, it's definitely my fav track on this album. Beside that I also like Click, Sunshine and RoughMermaid. I still need to listen to explore Compas tho, I feel like it's a right thing to do.

Cohesive album. It has summer written all over it.
I'm surprised with the comments about Navillera, yes the formula is similar to their previous singles but the instrumental and line distribution are different enough + the result is still catchy as hell. I'm sure their singles will try different sounds once they've secured a bigger fanbase (I should add that it's exactly my style lol maybe that's why I'm ok with them playing safe)
I really like Water Flower, LOL, Compass and Click! Distance is... surprising. Definitively stands out.

Navillera and Rough have the same structure but they sound totally different, idk maybe my stan goggles are blinding me?? some of the comments just read as bitter

I'm wondering the same too ! I keep thinking if my stanning for these girls are blinding me from the truth haha. Both songs sound really different from each other to me. I did mention in the other thread but the more I listen to Navillera the catchier it gets, and the beginning sounds like INFINITE's Chaser to me :o

Also Rough isn't exactly MGT either...
I think many of them thought GFriend would go in a totally different musical direction with the end of their school trilogy... but I'm not surprised. They don't have the fandom nor the company to change everything (like Red Velvet expanding their sound with a ballad), and they're successful with a specific sound with the general audience. Navillera is a good middle ground between the safe, usual GFriend, and new sounds.

i think that too! i think people thought they were going to stray away from their sound. like i stan people who do the experimental musical direction and i love it because it's /them/. but it's also nice to know what you're going to get with a group and that's def gfriend with me. i love the sound so i'm happy they're playing it how they are, they have time to change it up too. they've only been around for a year and a half so i hope they keep going up from here

It took a year and a half for Lovelyz to start changing their style with Destiny, I'm positive GFriend will slowly change too (I compare them because both have a relatively safe, yet already distinct sound, and both MGT/Ah-Choo had lasting power on charts). The number of pre-sales GFriend have with LOL must feel reassuring! In the album, Distance and Click are already taking steps to different sounds (like Say My Name was doing in the last mini-album).
I really like groups who can put out experimental music as well, but it's another business strategy.
That's part of why I like kpop - it's still under the pop umbrella but with different flavours, and there are some names you can count on when you're looking for a specific feel (like GFriend has start to do)

A GREAT ALBUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'm so happy we got a full album this time around and it's amazing and i love it, it's so summery i'm going to be playing this forever. i love click and water flower and LOL and gone with the wind and this whole thing. i can't wait for my physicals to arrive i know people made fun of the graphic and styling but it fits this whole album
