JYJ's Park summoned again over sexual assault scandal

SEOUL, July 4 (Yonhap) -- Park Yu-chun, the troubled member of popular K-pop boy band JYJ, has been summoned again over the weekend to face questioning over his sexual assault allegations, which have rocked the local entertainment scene, police said Monday.

The 30-year-old singer-actor was summoned to the Gangnam Police Station in southern Seoul on Saturday and Sunday over allegations he raped women working at local bars. Park, who is currently serving his military duty as a public agent, was first summoned last Thursday.

Park has been mired in a scandal as four different women lodged complaints against him in June, claiming they were raped by him. One of the cases dates back to 2014, while the latest allegedly occurred in early June.

The woman who filed the first complaint on June 10 has dropped the case, but Park made a counterclaim, saying she falsely accused him of sexual assault.

Park's agency has been asserting his innocence, staking his career and reputation on the line.

During the intense interrogation session that went on for hours on Saturday and Sunday, he was grilled over whether he had sex with the women and if so, whether coercion was involved in the process.

Police said they are planning to summon Park a few more times.

Reports mentionned that PYC followed N to the bathroom.
It would appear that N is a stripper who performed for PYC group.
This events would have taken place the same on June 4th (same day as A's aggression).

Article: [Exclusive] "Also went to the bathroom with N"... his second attempt on A

1. [+645, -23] So 'N' is the woman who danced naked that morning while they were drinking. That's... shocking. Just what kind of life has he been living.

2. [+537, -20] And an 'N' appears ㅋㅋ we're going to get the entire alphabet to Z at this rate ㅋㅋ

3. [+438, -30] It just never ends ㅠㅠ he ruined his dongsaeng's image, how does he expect his parents to leave the house now.. ㅠㅠ

4. [+412, -26] I just think of the bathroom when I hear his name now ㅠㅠ

5. [+293, -14] He's gone to so many room salons, so pathetic

6. [+179, -7] Whatever the truth is, the truth of the matter is that he has an extremely dirty private life..

7. [+196, -13] Wow, talk about a dirty private life...

8. [+178, -11] So Park Yoochun's trying to claim that he paid them and they're the ones who followed him into the bathroom naked..

Source: Nate

1. [+1,193, -20] So much detail is just pouring out about his private life..

2. [+963, -19] Whether he forced them or not, his image cannot be recovered

3. [+731, -22] I saw an alleged picture of the woman who danced naked that night ㅋ she had muscles like a horse. Anyway, seeing as how Yoochun's able to do it multiple times a day, he must have quite the stamina... Maybe he has a career in porn after all of this.

4. [+80, -2] She gave him a strip show... these people are so dirty..

5. [+72, -4] I wonder if Jaejoong or Junsu didn't know that he was like this too

6. [+66, -5] Just because a woman gives you a strip dance doesn't give the man any right to touch her unless she gives permission. Why did he follow her in when she was going to change?

7. [+56, -3] We're going to get women from A to Z

8. [+50, -1] If Park Yoochun is claiming that he gave her several 50,000 won bills and he didn't force her, then he's still in trouble for prostitution

Meanwhile his manager

The only netizen comment that matters here.

7. [+56, -3] We're going to get women from A to Z

I hope not... it's so scary to think about how many times he could have assaulted women.

Oh... I didn't know that since I don't follow DBSK or TVXQ.

Divorces can get very messy and I'm so sad to hear that about his mother. All she had to go through and now even her son is an asshole and in danger of getting locked up in jail.

Shame on him. Disgusting.

Ew at his manager, i know theyre super close

And i was reading a post on allkpop saying that even if the dna came out positive it still wouldnt prove he raped her and that his friends and other witnesses are all they have and of course his friends are gonna say yoochun is being framed by prostitutes and the mob ?

Like, i dont see him getting thrown in jail for this and its making me angry people still protect him and what was it he said several posts ago, "if found guilty he'd retire." What an ego.

Im so pissed 😠

Oh my god, AKP. Let's not even. I got attacked by so many users there for contesting to the fact that rape isn't an easy thing to prove or disprove and rape is rape etc etc and all they pointed out was that it's so common in Korea for prostitutes to claim rape to get money from rich men, etc evidence even after the 4th person to come forward is still necessary etc

I got called a benevolent white person with infinite knowledge of the world when I'm Asian as well...

tldr; AKP is a cesspool of oppalogists and !EVIDENCE4EVER!!!'s.

The (wrongful) stereotype of ~evil prostitutes/sexual women that pry on innocent, helpless rich men for their money!!!~ is so horrible and damaging I can't believe people buy into it. I mean, I can, but still. Yuck.

I don't see him going down for it even though it seems pretty apparent something happened from the sheer number of women coming forward. sadly, rape is just too difficult to determine legally so I have absolutely no expectations other than him getting off scot free, probably settling and throwing money at them to get them and other women to shut up, and his fans taking the resulting settlement as his 100% definite innocence and being even more obnoxious and insufferable than ever

I bet he won't be charged with anything. But in the VERY least his reputation is widely known and it will hopefully serve as a warning to anyone in contact with him in the future.

People also keep mentioning his parents... like, I understand most people won't know his history, but still. His father is dead. And their lives were separated when he was still young. YC lived somewhat isolated in Korea when he was scouted for SM. His mother and brother lived in the States, who he sent money back to, until he bought an apartment for them to live together in '08.

He's from a broken and likely abusive home.
This excuses nothing.
But I've seen a lot of comments demonizing his mother and younger brother as if they must have known what he was doing.

I'm sure they've had enough shit to deal with without also being blamed or referenced as complicit in his assaulting people.

Anyone who has grown up or lived in an environment with abusive people will know how torturous it is to live with someone emotionally unstable, while there is a sense of obligation to care for them, as your blood. And what do you do if they've done something truly terrible? Cut them off? Keep them close and try to stop them from hurting more people? It's agony.
I wish people would show a modicum of compassion for their situation.

Not to mention the culture of shitting on sex workers and dancers is nauseating.

This whole thing just gets worse and worse.

Aside from how appalling the social sexism and misogynistic stigmatisms there are (and they are), I really want to highlight your point: "This excuses nothing."

The amount of K-Pop fans who can't get this through their admittedly typically young and immature heads, primarily on other websites, is absolutely abhorring.

I always say this, and it's sort of related to the "intent versus impact" saying... there's a huge difference between explaining something, making logical sense of it, and JUSTIFYING it. Just because someone is from an abusive home does NOT give them the right to be an abuser.

It might be a part of that same toxic cycle, but putting two and two together is not a point of defense, as I'm sure many PYC fans will try to make it once the mob excuse dies down.

This man needs much more of a punishment than he will ever get. It is nauseating.

100% yes!

I was raised in a family that is part of that 'toxic cycle'... broken families giving birth to broken families. Not an uncommon situation. And certainly it's a struggle and all kinds of neuroses and anxieties get passed down and it's awful. But you make the most of it and better yourself.

When I first got into DBSK a decade ago I took some of those stories about his family that Yoochun shared as a warning. He was pretty obviously troubled by it all. I never got very emotionally invested in him because of this, other than DBSK/JYJ in the broader sense of what they were going through.

And I maintained some hope that he could overcome his issues and the cards he was dealt to come out a better person.

It's one thing to self-destruct, to hurt oneself in the process of your struggle. There can be empathy and compassion there to some degree. it's another to act out in such a way that you damage those around you, causing more pain and destruction in your wake.

This is intolerable, inexcusable, and cannot be abided. Defending or excusing such behavior enables the cycle to continue and more harm to come from it.

Not to mention that he DOES have the resources and support to get help, to break the cycle... he had so much going for him to overcome his upbringing. And he squandered it in the worst way. He took the ugly nightmare path when he had a brighter alternative path than most.

It makes him more dangerous, imo.

It's all such a terrible shame.

I share your sentiment, and I know personally how hard it is to overcome the almost COMPULSIONS to continue that difficult cycle. The maturity of self-awareness is half the work, though, so hang in there!

I didn't know about his background prior to this event, and although it is difficult to make assumptions, it is easy to see signs when you yourself have been through that type of hardship.

And clearly, you were onto something. The DNA from the 1st girl matches PYC.

You're right: it's almost infuriating, that he was "blessed" with fame, socioeconomic status, overall wealth, and squandered it to give into his abused animal instinct.

You know, the entire case reminded me of that Lee Joon movie, "Rough Play." I got the weirdest feeling during the screening, as if I knew that it was more of a biopic on the entertainment industry and less of a fiction. This is all so sad. I hope his punishment (theoretically) teaches him a lesson.

(I hope they punish him at all.)

I do not think he's going to be convicted for his crimes, and that it's fucking horrible. His victims will ever get justice? So, in that case, I hope that justice will be served, one way or another.
