Hip-hop artist Doddy has a new release through Romanian record label Cat Music entitled “Figura” featuring Shift.
BIGBANG fans have noticed that the choreography for Doddy’s music video feels vaguely familiar or even strikingly familiar to unit group GD x Taeyang’s choreography for “Good Boy.”
There are definitely a few signature moves that are common to both music videos.
Compare Doddy’s music video for “Figura” with G-Dragon and Taeyang’s video for “Good Boy” yourself. Do you think the similarities are mere coincidence or something more?

I recommend to compare it with the MV and not the dance practice because there is more similarities than the dance. I totally think they got "inspired" but the "Good Boy" MV. Discuss!

Date: 2016-06-27 10:27 pm (UTC)I didn't come to omona for this!
The Romanian bad attempt at pop follows me even here!
I almost wanted to facepalm when I noticed the similarities.
I'm annoyed, because we have some good choreographers, ok? Why do this? :'(
Jk. We have acceptable 'boybands' too. Those guys are pretty new.

Date: 2016-06-27 11:46 pm (UTC)The only band I heard a lot of people from other countries talk about was O-Zone because of their song Dragostea Din Tei (Numa Numa). There were many versions of it - Korean, Vietnamese, English, Chinese etc. (Up to 50 languages!).

Date: 2016-06-27 11:52 pm (UTC)I was thinking before about O-Zone's song and I couldn't remember the name of the group or the song. I need to listen to it again right now! The memories are coming to me!
I don't think I know more songs from Romania but I do know this one for sure lol

Date: 2016-06-28 10:30 am (UTC)Romania used to have good music. Maybe there were songs with stupid lyrics or some that made no sense, but they were catchy at least.

Date: 2016-06-28 11:01 am (UTC)Yeah, one of the main problems with the songs are the lyrics. Some have really catchy and nice instrumental, but then you hear the lyrics...
I can't really say anything about the mainstream songs. I mainly listen to Romanian Hip Hop, folk, traditional music (and songs for drinking - I don't even know how to translate this in English without making it sound weird/bad) and (much) older songs (like before the 2000s).

Date: 2016-06-28 11:35 am (UTC)I'm gonna check them out. I don't think I've listened to them yet.

Any song can be a drinking song if you're drunk enough :D
Generally, I kinda stopped listening to Romanian music many years ago (by this I mean actually having Romanian songs in my computer/playlists and playing them over and over again). I listen to a lot of songs mainly out of curiosity to see what else is there but I mostly don't play them again.

Date: 2016-06-28 04:05 pm (UTC)Mainly made for parties and fit for our traditional dances.
Nowadays, I rarely find a good song to listen to from those that are played on the radio. I mainly follow Carla's Dreams (who's not really from Romania, but promotes here and sings in our language) and a few select others.
Lately, I've been obsessed with Mario Joy - California.

Date: 2016-06-28 04:34 pm (UTC)The main (usual) steps on this kind of song are something like this (around 1:00 - the circle).

Date: 2016-06-28 04:38 pm (UTC)Well, I think there's a bit of a difference between manele and lautareasca. Manele is closer to bellydance music while lautareasca is closer to populara/traditional music.
Dance? I mainly noticed as a "choreo" for this - hora (min 1:00).

Date: 2016-06-28 05:46 am (UTC)The chorus roughly translates to
"Whoa, what an appearance
She's hot but she doesn't have a fever
But the way she moves to the 'sound/rhythm' of reggaeton
Whoa of reggaeton, whoa of reggaeton"
They say a lot of "mama" which is "mom," but in this context is more of like a wow factor because they are impressed by the girl.
