I think a lot of English-speaking K-Pop fans find it creepy. I guess as a J-Pop fan I find it pretty typical, but I can certainly understand negative reactions.

like others said I'm guessing oversaturation, but there is also the creepy factor- basically selling an image of an innocent, virginal cute school girl or whatever to older male fans. Coupled with dating bans it's not hard to see what the companies (both in Japan and Korea) are going for (I know dating bans apply to guys too but girls always had it harder and 9 times out of 10 their image is ruined because they're not seen as innocent and available anymore).

you can be innocent without the creepy factor? CLC here don't even seem like school girls. and I don't see how they seem as though they are specifically targeted at older male fans. Innocence shouldn't be automatically pegged to being virginal.

also imho, the dating ban thing isn't so much a commodification of idols but rather asian culture frowning upon youths dating. the old folks just don't like it. they think it's only ok to date when you are a proper adult with stable income and all.

this was really good oh my god

seunghee and sorn did soooo good they might as well make seunghee the leader again after this performance, sorn being in the center 90% of the performance made up for the terrible camera work during her first few lines, she looked so cute and her voice was on point

they really should just do this concept or go back to something similar to pepe
