i listen to it on google play (i really wish more albums were on there). hadn't bought it yet because of that. i'm honestly surprised at how much i like her solo.
Oh my gooooooodddd this just made my entire MONTH ugh I've been listening to JoJo's first album over the last few weeks, reminiscing my childhood, after learning she's opening for Fifth Harmony (buy 7/27 on iTunes) this summer and all these damn feelings fuck yes JoJo thank you for Free Somebody. Thank you, thank you.
It honestly sounds like JoJo (or a slightly less complex version of what she would do) so when I learned this I was like yes. I'm mad she gave this up for the stale ass songs she kept (the Tringle) but Luna got a great song. Now I want a remix or a leak because I doubt JoJo didn't record it before saying nah.
It was bad because it was soooo average. Like I know she was trying to be commercial friendly after years of not being managed properly but those songs were dull imitations of other hits and sounds. Especially when she has given much better releases off her mixtapes.
ugh her mixtapes are amazing. They're what got me back into her. I hope she adopts an enhanced version of that sound for her next releases. Or even something along the lines of Free Somebody or Keep on Doin'. JoJo would slay those songs.
i really hope JoJo's album has bops like free somebody. Her releases from the past year have been kind of...not it, and I know she has it in her. Here's to hoping JoJo finds some success in the kpop scene as well!
