The twisted reality show begins for crime thriller "Wanted"

This first teaser for Wanted is short, but it’s a good one — right off the bat, it’s mysterious, sinister, and gets out its premise boldly and efficiently.

The drama stars Kim Ah-joong (Punch) as an actress whose son is kidnapped, forcing her to carry out a series of missions on live television to get him back.

In the first teaser, we see her making her way into an abandoned-looking building, led by a text message asking if she wants to find her child. Her son’s voice cries out for his mother, and she runs through through the rooms shouting his name.

She grabs open a cabinet, finds a toy inside, then continues to search until she comes upon the innermost room—where a camera has been set up to record her. Peering into the lens, she asks, “Who are you?” Cut to black. Punchy and effective.

In the second teaser she sends off her little boy with a smile, only to have him snatched away and tied up somewhere, crying in fear and calling out for his mother. She’s sent the video, then spots the camera that’s been planted to watch her. Someone advises her to call the police, but she refuses, because the baddies have threatened to kill her boy if she does.

The case quickly grabs the attention of the entire nation, and the actress gets help from an ex who’s now a broadcast PD (Uhm Tae-woong) who oversees the live reality show that ensues upon the criminal’s orders. Jeon Hyo-sung, who is a former hacker, is part of his assistant staff. Ji Hyun-woo, on the other hand, is the determined detective who vows that until he sees a corpse with his own eyes, the victim is still alive. Shin Jae-ha will work alongside him in the violent crimes division.

The setup is quite similar to God's Gift - 14 Days and Liar Game. I would highly appreciate an ending which is not similar.

This reminded me of an episode of the Black Mirror series, the one w/the pig and the politician, disturbing and disgusting would define that episode...

Aside from that, this drama seems pretty interesting.

I may watch it. Looks interesting, at least is not another drama about straight people falling in love or whatever
