1st Sana and Momo are really insecure about their singing right now. I think they read the critics and are singing less to not show weakness. I find both their voices unique and think they should practice more, bc they have potential. Momo specially is too insecure and she wasn't like this before, she sounded good during Sixteen.
2nd I'm sorry. But Dahyun doesn't add to the songs. Chaeyoung could easily do her parts and I wouldn't even notice. Wish she would give a little something more about her monotonous voice but I won't expect much. Still like her.
3rd Tzuyu and Mina keep on improving, I love their confidence in their singing and they sound pretty stable.
4th Jihyo, Nayeon and Jungyeon have much more control over their voices during high notes and if JYPE had any sense they would stop giving them songs that could strain their voices all the time. Some songs actually requires them to needless shout at some parts.. for example: Cheer up, Do it again, Like a fool. A good example of perfect song for their range: Headphones.
I love when they sing seated and do something different like this.
Uggh I wish I remember when and what it was but I totally remember them saying something about knowing they were lacking and they were trying to improve in a way that it's obvious that they know what people are saying and it feels like it's making some of them too self-conscious. Well, at least some of the others seem to be taking it as a push to improve.

This. I won't repeat myself since you guys agreed, but I've been specially concerned about Momo, bc she's my bias. She was pretty stable and confident during Sixteen but she looks like she's about to burst a nerve when she has to sing her parts, she even asked for Jihyo's support in an Precious Love special video. At the rock, paper, scissors game she felt so sorry that she won against other vocalists and I also saw that interview in which they said they are trying to get better to deserve all the love they get. People are too up their asses regarding vocal talent, when Momo is an exceptional dancer with a lot of charisma. She should be focusing on improving and not thinking that she's useless as a vocalist :( Same for Sana.
She's my bias too and I'm so sad to see her drop in confidence. She sounded GREAT in Sixteen and had such a beautiful tone in their GOT7 Confession Song cover but idk what happened.
that clip was painful to watch, her voice kept trembling and some of the girls had to sing with her. it's weird bc in a couple of mr removed videos she sounds fine. idk what happened to momo, she sounded really good in the way you love me (even better than chaeyoung). i think she's pretty sensitive and is still aware of the sixteen result (people hated on her quite a lot when she got in, especially somi fans)

Yep. I just talked about her in the comment above, her voice is kinda husky too, she should been improving, but she's too insecure about her weaker points. If you see Momo before and after Sixteen you would think where her huge confidence went. She's much more sensible to criticism right now. Sana was about to fade in the background if not for her adorable shashasha syndrome. Both are great idols adn still rookies, hope they'll do even better in the long run.

I was reluctant to make some of these observations bc the fandom is, sometimes, a little sensitive lol I talked a lot about Momo, but regarding Sana, I have to say her voice is the kind that you either love or hate and I lololove it. It's adorable and very "japanese"? It's easily distinguishable from any other idol. Same about Dahyun. Hope she looked a bit more concerned about her talents, but I think her Idgaf attitude is also a charm. haha I'm so proud of Tzuyu, that girl is so confident about herself and so strong mentally after all the shit she went through at the beginning of the year. She always wear her fierce smile and never hesitates to sing when she's given the chance. She's one of the girls that improved the most. And IA, if JYPE was any smart in choosing tracks, they would give the vocal line less songs that require them to shout.
ia in general, but especially about your fourth point. people keep shitting on jihyo bc of cheer up and like ooh-ahh's high notes (which are outside her range) when she's actually not that bad of a singer? she's technically an average vocalist. yes, she may not be as good as other main vocals, but she's better than the people in miss a or kara or 4minute. but twice's title tracks can't show that and it makes me mad
I love those tracks, glad they sung it, even if the backing track was too loud... Singing line sounded good (those songs are obviously in their range, unlike parts of Cheer Up for example), and Mina/Tzuyu/Chaeyoung are doing so well too! I see them getting more difficult lines as time goes by, and it's exciting. Momo and Sana, however :( they looked so nervous and it worries me. :/
