Despite the title of their latest comeback “Good Luck,” girl group AOA has hit quite a few roadblocks during this cycle of promotions.

Following their recent controversy involving their historical knowledge, the FNC Entertainment group seemed to have started recovering by taking home music show trophies from, MBC Show Champion, SBS MTV The Show and KBS Music Bank.

However, in a recent turn of events, AOA’s win was retracted after a recount proved that rookie girl group TWICE were actually the correct winners of the show. And after Music Bank recounted their scores, fans of rookie male group SEVENTEEN are now also demanding a recount, suggesting that SBS MTV had also made a scoring error. If fans are proven correct, AOA would lose yet another trophy, rendering the with only one for “Good Luck.”

“The Show” Responds To SEVENTEEN Fans’ Concerns About Possible Error In Ranking

Following the controversy regarding miscalculation of points on last week’s “Music Bank,” fans of SEVENTEEN have expressed concern over the voting results of last week’s “The Show.”

On the May 24 episode of SBS MTV’s “The Show,” AOA was announced as the week’s winner with 8,192 points, while SEVENTEEN came in second with 8,076 points, making the difference only 116 points. In case of a miscalculation, SEVENTEEN could potentially be the actual winner for that week.

What sets “The Show” apart from other music shows is its partnership with leading Chinese streaming site Tudou. The show is broadcast live via Tudou each week, and half of the votes for the winner come from Chinese viewers. The winner for “The Show” is calculated based on pre-broadcast fan votes (70 percent; Korea 35 percent + China 35 percent), real-time domestic votes (15 percent), and real-time Chinese votes (15 percent).

Now, fans of SEVENTEEN have demanded an explanation from “The Show” over an error that made it allegedly impossible to vote for SEVENTEEN through the Chinese site. Posts on online discussions boards claim that SEVENTEEN’s pre-broadcast points were inaccurate as the numbers didn’t increase after fans paid and cast their votes, while AOA maintained first place with a maximum score of 99.99 for four consecutive days. It can also be seen that SEVENTEEN’s points fluctuated over the same time period, raising speculation about a possible error in the voting procedure.

Addressing these claims, “The Show” has admitted that there are occasional errors in the Chinese pre-broadcasting voting process. “As the errors occur on the Chinese side, it’s difficult to immediately fix them from Korea. It’s true that temporary errors affected SEVENTEEN’s votes.”

But the show’s representative says they sorted out the situation and the final results are accurate. “For the results announced during the live broadcast, however, we restored the points that were omitted due to errors. Thus, the ranking is correct, and AOA takes No.1 while SEVENTEEN comes in second.”

Yep. I think they started promoting around the same time that Twice for the music shows that I watched, but I also think they stopped sooner because I don't remember their performances the last times I saw music shows.

The Show would never admit an error occured because the show makes people actually pay for wins. Part of the criteria is paid live votes for the chinese section. Thousands of money in USD is spent everyweek by a fandom.

I'm not 100% clear on the situation but wasn't the problem that Seventeen's votes weren't being accepted and that payment for tudou gift points weren't going through?? I think I read complaints of fans who paid for votes and yet the score (lbr svt wouldn't have gotten a 0) wasn't reflected in the tally. This article makes it sounds like Carats are throwing a tantrum just because their faves didn't win when that's not it at all.

yeah the media seems to be spinning this to make it sound like aoa is being personally targeted when I think fans are more annoyed at the show itself.

either way people are gonna blame aoa for this and that's unfair to them. idk why fnc isn't attempting some damage control.

yeah the sentiment from k-carats & c-carats on twitter is that they want the show to admit their fault bc they paid actual money that theyre not being refunded, this post makes it seem like theyre throwing a fit for not getting their way lmao, anyway..

Paid gifts for tudou reflects on prevoting.

Paid votes would be for live voting. Did they get screwed on both accounts?

I checked their tables of view counts and it's very common that views are reflected as 0 for a time (charts reflect every 10 minutes) and then resume to regular numbers after that.

eh this blow out w the show has been coming since the start of svt's promotions and the show has screwed them over so many times with views but this time it included real money. it's unfortunate aoa got caught between this but carats have a right to question and call out the show.

anyway this article is late bc the show already replied to fans and it's clear they won't admit anything. the only one witch hunting aoa is the public lmao.

This was literally from last week and people have been talking abt it since then, idk why it got posted so late here but it was being talked abt and amplified by the MuBank error.

Moreover the bigger issue is people spend money on these votes and gifts and there's proof they weren't being counted. They want refunds or for them to count or an explanation.

It really sucks that people paid actual money for votes that didn't get counted. The Show will never admit fault though LOL not when it means possibly refunding money. Seventeen fans don't seem to harbor any ill will toward AOA, just The Show for being messy as it has been before.

i freaking HATE the show
they always somehow screw over acts esp t-ara. cqueens spend sooooo much money for nothing

also since errors are blowing up, queens should complain about the mcountdown award going to sistar and wjsn instead of t-ara who had way more votes than them.

im starting to hate these music programs
