New YG Girl Group Debut Song To Be Produced By Teddy

The debut song for YG Entertainment’s new girl group will be produced by head Yang Hyun Suk’s right-hand man, Teddy.

YG officially announced that the girl group would be debuting this July but had not revealed any other information regarding the group structure, concept, nor the debut song.

The music industry as well as fans are waiting in anticipation for the group as it is the first girl group from the company since launching 2NE1 seven years ago.

YG will finally be unveiling the girl group members starting this week, with one member being revealed each week.

Also, although the concept for the new girl group will have YG’s distinct “girl crush” feel to it, it is expected to be a bit differentiated from 2NE1.

Head of YG Entertainment Yang Hyun Suk commented on the new girl group, “I can vouch for their skills since they have been training for a long time. We trained them using the airborne troops method,” and, “They have a unique feel to them, enough that they don’t feel like the ‘second 2NE1.’ Because this is the first girl group in seven years [after 2NE1], I feel a bit burdened but I am also confident.”

I STILL don't know what that concept means exactly. I've heard it few times, I think Mamamoo gets that label. It's meant to be fun without being the typical aegyo, sexy, or hip-hop concepts shoved down your throat, I guess. Likable girls that boys and girls can be a fan of?

Girl at 0:52 is me lol. In order to attract fans they're still going to have to act sexy, cute or fierce. The girls on the vid were doing that. Nobody likes bland performances. Like u said maybe he wants to show polite friendly girls that both girls and boys can fan over.

Honestly, I never thought I'd see this day. I am so happy for them!

Seems like they're getting a lot of support too which is a complete 180 from previous debut news so that's also exciting.

"Girl Crush" tells me literally nothing about their music though so I'm curious about the final lineup & what kind of sound they'll come out with. With Teddy involved I assume it'll be hip hop or r&b based but who knows...

I feel like right now would be the perfect time for YGTV. I'm so thirsty for YG family interactions especially now that there's so many new additions. The fact that this hasn't already happened is shocking tbh, I feel like 90% of the tension between rapid fans would disappear once they realize that the artists in this company don't actually hate each other lol

Also can't wait to see their interactions with groups outside of YG. Twice would be great but I'm not holding my breath for it. I do hope to see them at least promote alongside CLC or Got7 so we can see Lisa with Sorn or BamBam. If I could get like a Thai line v-app special I could die happy tbh!

Thank God I never listen to what YG has to say, if I were I'd never give anyone from that company a chance. I hope these girls are good and I'm defo check them out, hope they deliver.
