And the two dancers getting on stage for the choruses... oh my. It hurts to see the three of them perfoming their old songs. Sojung was smiling a lot throughout the song, and it's comforting that they're able to go back to these songs now.
I'm kinda glad that Rise's name is still sung? yes it hurts but... I think I would have felt even worse if they had removed it :/

I was thinking that about the backing dancers but now i think i'm just reading too much into it? They only come out to flesh out the choruses, they don't actually fill in the old parts of eunbi and rise, and backing dancers are pretty common for groups four members or less to help fill out the stage so lc will probably continue to use them,  just like other small groups. It was weird during galaxy at first but i think in instances like this it's probably just standard kpop fare

I know! They have used two back-up dancers for Galaxy's promotions also, it's really common!
It's just that I got into Ladies Code during Hate You/Pretty Pretty promotions, so I've watched their lives a lot back then and seeing the two dancers joining during the chorus to bring the number up to five... made me even more emotional. It's just me.

ASHLEY IS TOO CUTE & i thought singing these girly pop songs might mean a return of the mosquito tone she's been criticised for but actually while she's obviously changed her tone to suit the song her tone is a lot more full

Sojung is also v cute & bb zuny at least picked up towards the end

Otherwise yeah idk what to think about the lyric change (or lack thereof)? Unless we're mishearing it because i can see how 'ashley' and 'rise' might in conditions like this get mixed up (and it wouldn't need much changing because ashley is also not korean so the line 'don't tease me about my.pronunciation' would still be relevant').

i'm quite sure she's still singing "rise," it also rhymes with "kiss" in the next line
it's a tough situation either way... when someone passes away, changing things or keeping them the same both feel wrong
i guess you can view it as rise's spirit singing through ashley

I love this song so much and I'm happy that they're able to perform their older songs :') I'm glad the Rise part wasn't changed, it was an iconic part of the song imo and it makes me emotional in a good way to hear it again. I'd understand of course of singing it made them upset.

Sojung and Ashley were really into the performance, so cute. I hope zuny's ok!

They had to perform these songs eventually and I feel like this is the best way to go about it. Replacing the lyrics would be like they weren't there, this honors their partaking in Ladies' Code's journey, same with the backup dancers, they're only there for a minimal role and I feel like it's more of a way to make the audience remember the girls, because the song was meant to be for all five girls, and bringing the backup dancers on will make sure we remember and honor them as part of Ladies' Code. I don't think the girls want to replace it all and grow toward a life where it's like they never existed. It's better this way.
Still hurts though, I cried seeing this performance.

i havent been able to listen to their old songs much since the accident but maybe watching them perform them will make it easier for me.

poor zuny doesn't look so enthusiastic about performing it but maybe it could have nothing to do with the song, perhaps she just isn't feel well.

ah, this makes me happy. it would've been wrong to change the lyrics imo, i like how in performing this and keeping it as is it's not like we're trying to all pretend nothing ever happened publicly. i'm sure this is healthiest for the girls and i'm surprised and glad to see sojung and ashley looking so happy. i'm not surprised zuny wasn't beaming (tho she perked up at the end too) and i'm glad she didn't feel like she had to- it makes it seem like the joy we do see in them is genuine too. this shit is hard and messy and so long as the girls are in control, i'm so happy with how things are going. i hope all of this is healing for them.

it will never not be bittersweet to watch them sing old songs now. but i'm relieved to see them being able to. i'd like to hope this is a sign that things are getting easier to bear
