Yoseob of disgraced boy group BEAST erroneously hailed for disrespecting top industry senior

Although they’re one of the biggest agencies in the industry, Cube Entertainment has had a hard time recently with promoting their artists.

In fact, one of their artists, BEAST‘s Yoseob, recently took to Twitter to call out the agency for their inability to properly promote him. In a tweet that has now been retweeted thousands of times, Yoseob informed Cube Entertainment that he would be performing with famed vocalist Jo Soomi, suggesting that their management abilities are so poor that they didn’t know about his schedule.

“A yo Cube how are you doing? I’m singing with Jo Soomi I thought I’d just let you know since it didn’t look like you knew. Anyway have a good friday.”

His fans hailed the main vocal for his bravado while 4minute fans were not amused. Yoseob's whining was in response to a tweet promoting 4minute Hyuna's guesting on popular show, "Animal Farm" where she enlightened Korea on the horrors of its puppy mills. But Yoseob - a singer - was at a concert singing and he had to make the world know about it.



His fans argued that Cube does nothing to promote the group BEAST, a group who has had multiple concerts, global fan meetings, solo and unit promotions, multiple comebacks in one year as well and that his tweet was warranted. In comparison, 4minute has had no solo concert in Korea, have only had multiple comebacks in their debut year, had merchandise made of recycled BEAST merchandise, had one fan meeting in 2010 and the second in 2015 and had to tweet Weekly Idol in hopes of a guest appearance as they quietly did all their promotion themselves even after HATE became a top 3 Billboard World Digital Songs hit.

Even the tweet Yoseob replied to was the first 4minute related tweet in a month, where in that time Jihyun's drama aired weekly (Cube updated with weekly posts on Kikwang's drama), Sohyun became a fixed DJ with Leeteuk and DickPunk's Taehyun on Sukira and Hyuna made waves for her trip to Bali. And still 4minute put in work on their own instead of whining in a public forum to incite a riot. And yet for this actions, Yoseob has been affectionately nicknamed CEO and Hyuna has been condescendingly labeled Cube's Princess just for receiving schedules.

Meanwhile, 4minute is busy with individual schedules. Jihyun is rumored for another drama role, Hyuna has a solo comeback in the works, Sohyun is filming a show with Youngji, another show with Rainbow's Jaekyung as well as DJing on Sukira, Gayoon's movie will be out in a few months and Jiyoon has been MCing KBS Radio concerts (a schedule Cube never tweeted about so fans didn't find out until the day of and were not permitted into the venue). Their contract is set to expire next month, though fans have theorized they've renewed.

BEAST has also been busy spreading their influence in the KPOP industry.

it's completely useless. 4nias were the ones who helped b2utys get spots in music shows during debut days and as soon as beast got popular by cube force feeding them, they turned on 4nias. when 4minute got into a car crash in 2012, there were even comments from korean b2utys saying: "thank god it wasn't beast"

But I get why Yoseob was pissed.
The fact that others in the company have it worse doesn't mean he can't complain when Cube is doing him shady.
It wasn't the best/smartest way to reply to tweet about Hyuna bc 4minute are treated awfully and I understand their fandom rage, but guy probably just replyed to the newest tweet and that's all. It was tactless but I do not see the reason to going on him all the way

I thought the things they do bad are things that kfandom doesn't care much, so they were doing well on korea but their international fandom is not big.
Or it was Infinite the one with a big kfandom but not much international fans?

I say it because people mostly mention the blackface, and racism against black people from idols doesn't usually seems to have too much repercussion within the kfandom. I don't know much about their scandals, I personally can't stand Kikwang because he gave me big douches vibes in a Happy Together episode, but I guess they did other things that I don't know/remember.

The truth is neither of these groups have been properly managed and promoted in years. Beast barely promote anymore and 4minute doesn't get the recognition they deserve. The company really went downhill when Hong had to step down to ALS.

And BTOB and CLC are also suffering. This post doesn't even mention them.. Both groups have so much talent that is being wasted.

CEO Hong did nothing but debut 4minute. He wasted their talents, lied about Jiyoon's solo debut, left 4minute stranded in Japan with no promo, language skills or resources and gave BEAST 4 comebacks in Korea that same year. If anything, the new CEO of Cube has done more for 4minute than Hong did, he just does not have the resources anymore.

Funny that beast haven't done anything problematic by international standards for years but are still hated, while other groups with more recent indiscretions are safe.
I can understand yoseob's frustrations. Beast is also not well managed lately, they only had one comeback last year that kind of flopped, and then HS left this year.
Anyway fighting amongst fans of groups in the same company is annoying as hell.
