GFriend confirmed to be making comeback in July

Rookie group GFRIEND is making a comeback soon!

On May 20, an industry insider revealed that GFRIEND is working on a new release and aiming to make a comeback in July, six months after their last comeback with “Rough” in January.

GFRIEND is reuniting with composer Lee Ki Yong Bae for the upcoming album. Lee Ki Yong Bae has built a steady repertoire with GFRIEND, having previously worked on the group’s title tracks “Glass Bead,” “Me gustas tu,” and “Rough.”

GFRIEND debuted in January of 2015 with “Glass Bead.” With successful promotions of “Me gustas tu” and “Rough,” GFRIEND is establishing itself as a girl group to watch out for.

Rough is still in the top 20 of Melon. Girl groups are killing it and I hope with their next comeback they keep this.
I'm curious if they are going to do the same concept, it seems to work well with them for now.

I remember people saying Rough was like a graduation from the schoolgirl concept, and I really hope so. I think it worked perfectly for Lovelyz who went from cute to more mature with "Destiny". So I want to see GFriend doing it too and surprised us with something a bit different.

Their Arena photoshoot was EVERYTHING they should totally try for a darker/moodier concept (like OMG's Closer) Rough wasn't their usual upbeat/cute sound so they obviously have the potential while still leaving their distinctive style intact

Yessss there are some great side tracks on their minis! I'm particular fond of 'Say My Name' right now - it's a bit edgier than their title tracks, so I definitely think they could pull of something harder than their usual concept!

I actually shelled out for the signed copy of Snowflake (and got Umji's photocard! #blessed) and now I want to get all their minis (even though I don't use CDs, lmao....)

I did cave and buy a copy of Rough when I got Seventeen's new album for the sake of free shipping lol, but I've already listened to the songs a lot so it's not quite the same. At least I got a nice photocard of Sowon out of it! I like having CDs to listen to in my car but minis are never really long enough to feel worth it.

I'm the only one that doesn't mind the school concept that much? lmao. They're still in the appropiate age for it so they can do a darker/edgier concept when they're a bit older. I'd like to see them trying something new, yes, but even if they come out with another school concept it wouldn't bother me so much as long they serve a bop and a great choreo like always.
