Jessica on Tiffany: "Rivals with Tiffany? I'm cheering on her solo." + Confirms She's Dating Tyler

Former SNSD member Jessica has debuted as a soloist with 'With Love, J'. This is her first activities as a soloist in her 9 years since debuting. With 6 songs on her mini-album and the title track 'Fly', she actively worked to help produce each of the songs.

"I have wanted to release a solo album for a long time, so it's an exciting and ticklish feeling."

"I wanted to give you all good music to listen to, so I have been working on this for the past year. I would like it if you enjoyed listening to it."

Naturally, one has to bring up SNSD and Tiffany when talking to Jessica. Tiffany also debuted as a soloist not very long ago, with 'I Just Wanna Dance'. Currently, they are not expected to face off against each other as rivals on stage.

"Many people think watching a battle against Tiffany would be fun. I also listened to Tiffany's songs, watched her music video, watched her showcase too. Tiffany really wanted to show herself through her works. I hope her promotions end well."

"Instead of rivals, I would like to think that we have different colors (styles) of music that people can enjoy listening to. I am cheering on Tiffany's promotions."

When asked about the other members of SNSD, "There are members of SNSD that I do still keep in touch with, and there are members that I don't keep in touch with. Even though we maybe not be able to promote together as SNSD anymore, I hope they do well for a very, very long time."

i wanted to be like: "i hope this makes people chill out a bit because she's obviously moved on, and the others likely have as well" but that's too naive of me, lmao. some of the comments i've seen on other sites about this are ... phew. people just can't deal with the fact that there's not this intense soap opera-y drama going on bts.

anyway!! i'm surprised but glad that she said something. but i guess if anyone was gonna directly speak up about it ..., it would be the other members. we all know how sm is: even if idols keep in contact with people who left the company (whether amicably, like in jessica's case, or not, like in jyj's), sm obv tries to make them keep quiet about it. so, i wouldn't be shocked if it was in an agreement with soshi to keep their relationship (or lack thereof) with sica beyond the "scandal" out of the public eye. overall, i'm just glad that she's happy and that it seems like things are okay overall. imo, it'd be foolish for anyone to think that she'd have a perfect relationship with all of them - or that there wouldn't be some members that she's distant with / not in contact with anymore. not everyone is going to get along, whether they're still in a group or not.

and, re: tyler. shocker of the year. (lmao) but i'm glad she was open about it and none of that "we just got together!!!" bs.

Obviously she keeps in touch with Sunny, hell she probably keeps in touch with Tiffany, I'm really glad she was honest about that and I thought it was really sweet that she's cheering Fany on and SNSD. It's pretty clear this was more than just discord between the members and was probably more on SM's issue than the girls themselves hopefully...

I feel like there's an unspoken bond between them considering they're both very fluent English speakers and Tiffany, even Jessica, struggles with Korean sometimes, I really doubt either of them didn't attempt to keep in touch with each other. SM's pr machine is scary af, when a member leaves the group the others have to spend like, years without mentioning them or being seen with them or even acknowledging their existence, it's waaay over the top. I remember Heechul having to refer to Hangeng as "that Chinese friend of mine" on social media. Everything Tiffany, Sunny and Sooyoung said about Jessica post Sicagate was totally vague and went out of its way not to refer to her by name (sunny's radio message was practically in code lol). And Jessica's statement gives the whole mess a sense of closure that is so much better than their "pretend none of it ever happened" strategy imo.
