“We Got Married” Ratings Prove That Gentle Nam And Solar Helped Revive The Failing Show

One particular couple of We Got Married 4 is being credited for raising the ratings for the show since joining the show.

According to rating graphics, the show saw a near 1% (0.9%) raise in their ratings for their 316th episode, hitting a high of 4.9% within a range of six aired episodes.

The show has seen a change in couples the last few months with the joining of new couples Jo Se Ho & FIESTAR‘s Caolu, Eric Nam & MAMAMOO‘s Solar, and Madtown‘s Jota & Kim Jin Kyung who joined on episode 311, 316 and 321 respectively. And so, many are crediting Eric Nam and Solar for the boost in ratings especially regarding that the two have highly positive public images.

In addition to that, with the two’s interaction so far on the show, viewers have given them even more positive reaction towards their virtual marriage.

We Got Married airs every Saturday on MBC at 4:50pm KST.

they got me to watch the show for the first time since Gain/Jokwon. I tried to follow Joy/Sungjae but I think I found the limits of my own childishness (finally!). These two are pretty great. They make me laugh, they seem to be having fun, and they have even had real conversations, when Solar asked him whether he'd experienced discrimination in the US and he gave such an honest and well-informed answer and started comparing his parents' immigration to the US to his immigration to Korea I was like ??? Are they having a real, meaningful conversation on WGM? Is that even allowed?!

So yeah they saved the show doesn't seem like overstatement to me.

And they're helping each other: next week he's teaching her english and she's helping him with korean and they're both taking those lessons "seriously" (at least in the teasers)

i actually adored joy and sungjae on wgm. genuinely lots of fun individually and together, you could see their growth (even acknowledging the scripted material), a lot of their emotions translated well on screen, and the little frustrations felt very real.

eric and solar are fun to watch as well, obviously, but definitely just a friendship vibe from them.

wow wgm ratings have been so low these past years. the last time i checked (during taemin & naeun), was around 7%. now its around 4.5% to 5%

I like this couple because they really seem to be more interested to make their time together meaningful even if is only as friends first. I mean sometimes I tried with some couples but how they acted like they were an actual married couple from the beginning was not my thing. I enjoy more this. It feels more when you start to see two people getting along but still gives space to other bigger things happen. Does what I said make sense? lol

idk, i find them kind of boring....half of the time Eric is still in his interviewer/host-mode. I hope they get comfortable around each other soon for some fun times.

they're definitely fun to watch, but with only 1/3 of the show interesting how can they get high ratings? I hope Jota/Jinkyung will be fun, but Seho/Caolu are impossible to watch...

no matter how scripted it is, the couples that worked were always those who treated it less like work and more like sort-of dating... I dont really get Seho's appeal in general but especially this kind of show is not suited for him.. Cao lu could have made it work with someone else but I dont see them lasting long.
