thank god lol i thought i was the only one who saw that hakyeon was actually trying to get ken to use his indoor voice... a lot of ppl were like "he's defending leo and hyuk from the imaginary lasers" but like i don't think he would have been quite that harsh if he was just playing.
hakyeon only ever gets like that when ken starts talking over someone else while it's their turn. it's not a terrible serious character flaw but it is a bit rude and lately ravi's been having some trouble getting in a word edgewise w/o one of the baby members + ken rolling right over him. glad to see that hakyeon still has quite a bit of backbone in him.
Oh from this comeback videos I think it is safe to surmise that Hakyeon has quite a lot of control, even Hyogi has a bit of fear still when it comes to the leader. And they did mention in the radio this week that Leo behind the scenes is still the disciplinarian too.
They get too excited when they have 6Vixx activities, Ken at most, it's like it's hard for him to manage his excitement? Hakyeon and Leo must have their hands full lol.
LOL it must be hell tbh... ravi is so sanguine and laid back that i can't see him starting shit, but bean and hyuk alone are fiends. once they decide that ken is the leader for the day (and he's definitely the only one in the hyung line who'll indulge them that far) it's just madness.
i love the dynamics in vixx tbh! even the one pair whom i don't think gets a lot of airtime (ravi and hyuk) have a clear dynamic between them. it's so easy to see how they deal with each other and that's much easier to follow than a band where there are more than three or four cliques and there's always someone mad at someone else. vixx just fights it out and moves on, lol. it's ideal.
btw, is there a translation for that radio show yet? it's the one without hakyeon and ken, right? (where exactly were they...?) or is it the one they went to all together (sukira?)
It was Sound K at Arirang, so I think it was translated during the broadcast by the DJ. Ken records the Duet Song show on Mondays, Hakyeon was on a "secret" schedule (possibly filming that flowerbromance show with Wongeun), it didn't stop him from calling the studio lol.

lol, I liked VIXX since the beginning but haven't been following them that much since after Hyde (After Hyde era, I just watched their music videos and that's it, w/ maybe some VIXX TV. VIXX TV2 is too long for me, lol) i only recently got back into Kpop thanks to VIXX when the Conception trailer first came out and I got hit by the feels and started following Dynamite era (and binge watched all their Dynamite era stuff that I could find). So, I suppose I missed out on a lot then? I guess what I remember most about N was influenced by their earlier career, and I still see him as the sassy and very affectionate leader. it's more toned down now I've noticed, but his love of VIXX is still there! it's just etched in my mind very much, especially since he was sorta my bias back then!
what else have changed in between, in terms of their dynamics? I'm curious, but am too lazy to go back and rewatch all the previous eras I've missed, lol.
besides that, Leo becoming less camera shy, and the maknaes getting more sassy and evil, lol. i honestly don't know Ravi or Ken cuz I didn't follow them as much compared to the others even when I did sorta follow VIXX.

hyuk: grew like a weed, lol. besides being satan, he's probably the largest member of vixx now and has abs (that we have officially seen - thanks, seize it to live promos.) manhyuk started during on and on, but during the eternity promos he went on the offensive and now he's huge and sometimes manly and devastatingly handsome. it frightens everyone. he was recently in a movie and, from what i've seen, he basically played himself except with more 19+ swearing. i'm sure he loved it. chained up happened, that was... whew. he is still addicted to anime tho, bless. he's also friends with apink's namjoo now! unexpected but adorable tbh.
he's drifted a bit from hongbin, i think? they still have shenanigans together (they're still as conspiratorial as fuck when you stick the two in a room with a camera), but mostly i see hyuk and bean in a trio with ken or just hyuk with ken more often than not. they seem pretty attached at the hip. he and ravi had a ridiculously good duet on their boys record album you should check out right now. recently, he ranked the members from least to most teasible and the order was: hakyeon (because he loves the attention), bean, ken, ravi, leo. it seems like, at some point, hakyeon gave the reins of leo-wrangling to hyuk and hyuk has been doing surprisingly well with the responsibility. hyuk is a huge bully now and will flip over any of his older bros without any provocation (leo included), but he's actually very patient with leo and it's done wonders for leo's character. they seem to bicker in a much more pleasant way, and leo often huddles next to hyuk for no reason. it's cute.
anyway, hyuk's main gesture of affection toward his older bros now is randomly grabbing them and spinning them around. he may only get huger and more dangerous in the future.
bean: much more vocal these days. oh my god, he's a piece of shit. i kid, he's still nervous and not much of a risk taker, but he's gotten... weirder? he's an acceptably skilled communicator now - he was hiding a razor sharp wit under that pretty face - and he's completed a stint as a host for the show last year with minimal hand vibrations. he does a lot of the introductions for the group these days along with ravi and hakyeon. sang a cover of falling slowly that was either over or underhyped depending on who you ask but 1. he definitely needs more practice and 2. he DEFINITELY needs more lines, his voice is gorgeous. we've recently confirmed that he's the resident neat freak in the dorm and will end up cleaning if left to his own devices. he was in a drama which was only okay but apparently he did a decent job. he's still close friends with gongchan of b1a4, and is apparently in a group chat with gongchan, exo's suho (or someone i don't know exo oops), and bts' v. v says that no one says anything in it and it's a little lonely.
leo's always had a soft spot for bean and i think it's still alive. it's quiet but i think they've always enjoyed each other's company, hongbin appears to really enjoy goofing around at leo while he stares approvingly. rabean seemed dead since midsummer last year until ken started chasing leo and now it seems like they've been talking again. hongbin was wearing the promo t-shirt for ravi's solo in the cctv practice, which is a good sign. bean and ken don't seem to talk much in front of the cameras but apparently during breaks when they all go back to their hometowns, he and ken don't visit their friends in town and instead walk to each other's houses and go out to eat. ken is also usually present (along with hyuk) when bean does odd shit (and he has been doing a lot of low key weird shit lately - making funny faces with his ridiculously huge eyes and mouth and playing odd games in the background, but more often and obviously than before). bean and hakyeon... still have their catty leader-most-disagreeable-member thing going on but they work well together and are honestly a good pair.
mostly, i think bean's come out of his shell and it's been catastrophic since. all he does is COMPLAIN
ravi: he's the same quiet, overly affectionate guy. his work ethic is insane, it'ss taken him quite a ways, but i think he's realized that it's taken him a lot of work to get where he is. imho it seems like it's catching up to him.his hair is finally black now, he's been producing like a demon, he produced the beautiful liar album with leo, the single that he made was beautiful imho. he recently dropped a mixtape, it has mixed reviews but everyone agrees that the production is fire. he's apparently friends with bts' j-hope (along with his thousand other friends). has been been talking to other khh ppl on a friendly basis. look up the diss hater post on omona.
for the lr promos, he was doing all the spokesman duties, but leo held his own surprisingly well. they finished with some good reviews. (his hair during those promotions was both godly and really hilariously bad). he's been sticking to vixx like a limpet. the only person he won't cling to is hakyeon (who recently locked him in a full body hold he pretended not to enjoy). he's been glued to ken (replace every "handsome hongbin" comment he's ever made with "cute ken"), but ken's been trying to cling to leo, who doesn't cuddle as hard as ravi does. ravi's devastated by this (but not discouraged). i think life has been rough on him since the chained up era started, he's been much quieter outside of his required (still rambly) introduction/spokesman duties. recently a hip hop show he'd been slated to attend fell through. he took it well but he just seems down. hakyeon and leo have been stepping it up during the dynamite promos to make sure that he gets heard, and they seem to be doing a lot to encourage him (hakyeon's been getting on ken's case for ken + maknae line's recent game of interrupting ravi while he talks, leo has been doing a lot of quiet repping for ravi). it's nice, i think ken and ravi have switched positions in the age split in vixx.
tldr ravi is still the gentle shy giant with a raging libido and a thirst for cuddles you remember. he needs more cuddles.
leo: how did we go from hyde leo who didn't say or do anything the bubbly shy giggler that is dynamite leo? (the giggliness is new. we aren't sure what dynamite's done but it's good.) he's been doing well for still being nervous (we've now been told that it's because he is a careful thinker and never wants to say what he doesn't mean - also, he's camera shy). he's been in a couple of musicals - full house with apink's eunji (he's friends with eunji now!), mata hari this year. he's been making out with some gorgeous women, it's making me jealous (of him, not the women). he recently went on king of masked singer by himself without dying! see episodes 49 and 50 for some REALLY unexpected leo moments. among his weirdest friendships is his friendship with infinite's sunggyu, whom he drags out for coffee.
leo's lesinset everyone on earth by now (except me) and the world is out to boost his confidence. he's realized that and is confused but delighted. his cat and mouse relationship with n seems to have eased now that hyuk is leo's minder; they're pretty chill now. he and ken have been cuddly, it's weird. he and hyuk have also been cuddly, it's weird. he's been staring deeply at ravi. he and hongbin are still tight. everything is pretty much the same except leo is much happier and confident. (i think you should already know about his over-competitiveness, but it's been visibly ramping up - it's great, he's a brat.) he's taken up pushing ravi into the spotlight and making sure he's seen and heard. beautiful liar was under a year ago, ravi was the spokesman back then. what a reversal.
he's been biting and licking the other members. and the camera. (i blame sunggyu.)

hakyeon: mother leader. look at his 4things episode if you haven't already - there's a ton of info about him and his relationship with the rest of vixx that's still relevant. he's been calming down, as you've noticed, but while part of it is him settling a little, he's also genuinely pretty tired. he's done a lion's share of publicity over the past couple of years. a lot of the time vixx jokes about him being glued to the couch sleeping or watching tv when they see him at the dorm. (they're still living together! they moved into a different place, the only thing that is confirmed is that hakyeon has his own room and hyuk and ravi are no longer in the same room. we've named some of hakyeon's ikea furniture.) this means he's been making a ton of friends outside of vixx, but for a while sort of seemed like he was drifting from the rest of vixx. things seem a lot better now, tho. among his more notable friends are lee wongeun and jisoo from the drama sassy go go, eunji when they were on the same variety, and suju's ryeowook (were you around for girls, why? he's friends with okdal too).
since he's been gone so much, the members still respect him (and he still clings like a leech), but it definitely seems like he's taken a step back and is more interested in watching them play than joining in. he's been quietly supportive of ravi and ravi's the only one who consistently stays still enough for hugs. he and hongbin make a good team and seem to have about the same relationship (contentious but good). hyuk is a shit and does not love his mom (yet hakyeon's only one who can still strike the fear of god into his heart) (also he apparently asks hyuk to marry him every day?), he and ken still have the same kind of outgoing energy, and leo and hakyeon are leo and hakyeon, but older. there's much less of hakyeon literally dragging leo in front of the camera and more of them communing with each other. i honestly think that hakyeon being away so much has improved his relationship with leo and deteriorated everything else. they all still get along with him though, teasing aside, and hakyeon will never do anything less than love them. that's just the way he is.

other things: ear tugging/touching, biting/licking each other, neckscratches, leo is ravi's cute hamster now, was hakyeon's cute hamster before, and now literally everyone is calling him a hamster. i think he's accepted it by now.

haha, no, leo reminds me waaay too much of myself for me to rly invest in him (we have a lot of the same flaws whoops), but i appreciate that he's there and i really do think he's grown up quite a bit as a person. i find his continued embarrassment cute lmao but i don't find him anything more than aesthetically pleasing and mildly compelling. i'm very happy for him tho :)))
I don't think Hyuk drifted from Hongbin, they're still as close as ever but he's gotten much closer and comfortable with the other members too like he totally isn't scared from Leo anymore (no one is, Leo's death glares do not have the same effect anymore, at least in front of the camera since he's still called the disciplinarian behind the scenes). He respects his hyungs a lot but does not shy away from messing with them. Hyuk has been friends with Namjoo for a long time already (95-line), it's not a recent thing. VIXX in general have quite some female freinds. Hakyeon and Leo are known to be close to Eunji. Leo is befriending almost all noonas at Mata Hari musical, lol. Ken is very close to Hani; they have an official duet together and even nicknames, those two are so adorable, like real siblings. Ravi is close to Bomi apparently and Hongbin is close to Woori from Rainbow for example.
I wouldn't say Ravi is quiet. He likes talking, a LOT ^^ he just thinks he's not that good on variety. I remember his worry when he and Leo became LR bc they're both 'boring'. Though his exaggerated reactions are often priceless XD. I think the reason he talks even more now, introductions and such is bc Hakyeon lets him take over a bit of that burden. Hakyeon used to do most of the talking (Ravi actually always did some parts but just not as much), now he puts more responsibility on the members who have become more comfortable. Ravi is the kind of member that can't contain his messages in simple tweets and often puts long essays on fancafe. Oh, don't forget Ravi's friendships with exo's kai and shinee's Taemin, he's been spotted with them already more than once and even called them on a radio show where they trolled the hell out of him, lol. He gained quite a lot of friends in the hip-hop industry too, some of them helped on his mixtape. I don't get where you got the assumption that Ravi and Hongbin have been on a standstill? Hongbin has been away filming for a lot of time, he missed a lot.
Hakyeon and Leo's friendship is a special one, they always mention each other as life-long-friends or heart-friends and other cheesy names in interviews. They have a profound understanding of each other in which they only have to look each other in the eye and they know what the other person means. Sometimes you really have to pay attention to notice. Leo has always been a born performer, confident in his abilities to do so, it's just that off stage he indeed gets extremely concious of the camera but due to all his experiences he's gaining even more confidence and becomes more open. The Leo people know from behind the scenes, is showing more and more (definitely since baby nephew was born last year, so cute how much he was looking forward to that). Leo is known to have been a hugger in the shadows. Leo is also very good friends with MBLAQ's Seungho, their friendship goes back all the way to Mydol and is still very strong. Apparently he's also close to Heechul who is 'very fond of Leo'. How that friendship happened is a mystery to me, lol.
Hakyeon's friendship with Hongbin also goes a very long way. More than once Hongbin almost quit trainee life and Hakyeon is the one that pulled him back each time. They're very consistent in how their friendship shows, lol and somehow they're always the ones getting in the same team. Hongbin might bicker against but his respect for Hakyeon goes miles deep. You notice their friendship in small things. Also Rabean like to cling to Hakyeon in winter periods bc his hands seems to very warm ^^. Hongbin though, always remains a bit of mystery. He's become more open but you still can't figure him out completely. He's more of a mystery than Leo even. Hakyeon indeed did a lot of work last year but part of that is bc he's as stubborn as a mule and a true workaholic. When he sets his mind on things, even Jelpi can't put him off the idea. The period just before CU era was extremely hectic and I think he learned from it, which results in him having been a lot less busy in comparison. Though you see he misses radio a lot. Otherwise, he remains as self-confident as ever, no one can beat that.
In case of Ken, it definitely were those musicals. The Cinderella effect if great. He gets this 'princely aura' when he gets serious. There must be sth special about those kissing scenes ^^. He's still a puppy, the happy vitamin of the group that everyone loves. When he's not there, he gets constantly mentioned and you visibly see that everyone misses him. He's still loud, but he has toned down that potty mouth of his a lot (except when he gets a bit too comfortable).
VIXX have a very brotherly bond as they'd also like to call it themselves. They're not shy to admit that they have big fights, especially when a new comeback is around the corner, and that there even might be some crying (most fans think it's Ravi, he's a cry-baby, lmao) but most importantly, they make up really fast, like real brothers. They fight but can't stay mad at each other too long. I really like that honesty, no fairy tales about the perfect friendship where no one ever fights and they get along all the time. Even when their dorm contract expired, they still decided to keep on living together and moved to another one. I think they all have their separate rooms now. I'd like to think they've grown even more close since they know each other even better now, are settled in more and have grown as men too.

Just wanted to add one thing to Kitty's essay. Vixxies each have had and kept and expanded their own circle of friends from the beginning. So in their free time they hang out with different people, which, in all honesty, is much better for their group dynamics. And they have looots of friends, celebrity and not. Hakyeon, for example, has mostly older friends. Ravi knows his hiphop people not through J-hope (they aren't actually that close, Ravi mentioned him maybe twice) but through Kiggen and Brand New Music people who also helped him with Beautiful Liar. But yeah, his celebrity besties are Kai and Taemin. He was working on his mixtape and preparing his concerts throughout winter, so he was pre-occupied at that time. Being the first one with solo music project and a concert is a lot of responsibility, Jelpi does not take music production lightly.
And as for Hongbin, he is the most private member of the group. He keeps his family out of sns. And he is superhardworking student, he did his associate degree in 3 years, like all his classmate (he took study leave for Moorim though, poor kid has barely seen Vixx for almost 6 months because that drama didn't finish filming before NY as was promised. That's why there had been little interaction between him and other members until Dynamite). Hongbin is also the member with weakest health, his cleaning addiction has been known since Mydol days, but it and his fitness and healthy food diet are also caused by his health issues as a teen. And I don't know how V wrangled himself into that group chat, but until him mentioning being friends with Hongbin and his bestie no-one had even known they had contact. Hongbin has never even mentioned V, unlike his other friends.
Oh, one more thing. VixxNKpop provided wealth of info on Hakyeon including him being ready to throw a member under the rumour bus (confusing Ken and trying to make him say he was dating someone from the musical), being mean DJ to his guests (Ravi almost swore (!!!) when they were his guests) and saying things to his celebrity guests like "This segment called a Star Corner because I am a star" :D

I'm glad they also have friendships outside of the group. I knew about VIXXO, BTOVIXX, V1A4, Ryeowook and N, and Ravi's friendship with Taemin and Kai, but wasn't aware of their other friendships. Gongchan and Hongbin duo is great, haha!!

ken: i think it was still during hyde promos when he was a shrill attention-seeking five year old, right? i think he's got it down to an art and now he's devastating. i'm not sure what happened (it might have been the musicals he was in - chess, then cinderella) but somewhere along the line he realized that being gentle along with being obnoxious and confident was a lethal combination. he's collected himself a fanclub with it, the entirety of vixx included (i can't think of a single member that HASN'T fallen in love with ken by now). around the love equation promotions i think the stylists figured out what they doing with his face and hair (and his plastic surgery got done around that time too w h o o p s). from the cinderella performances until to now he's been a bombshell of laser-guided aegyo that has been doing well on variety. he seemed distraught during the chained up promos (he almost visibly shed a tear once during the third win - that was worrying), but he's been on fire recently. he's friends with b1a4's sandeul and bts' jin now! they're the 92 line unit, they go out on food dates sometimes. it's my favorite inter-group friendship in kpop rn.
i mentioned that everyone's fallen in love with ken by now - if there were any doubts about whether members were lukewarm about him during the hyde promos, they no longer exist. hakyeon's always loved him (he loves everyone), hyuk lets him get away with everything, bean's still ken's biggest fan, ravi is in danger of breaking ken whenever he tries to tackle him with all of the love in his large body, leo and ken have been super giggly and conspiratorial lately. i'm not sure how but he has the entirety of vixx around his little finger. only hakyeon wakes up every once in a while to pull ken back whenever he's being rude. ken's still a bit out of control - he flipped off ravi on vixx tv and the footage had to get pulled, there are still gifs of it floating around, it's hilarious - but i think we've all realized he doesn't mean anything by it. recently he's been leading hyuk and hongbin around on variety. as long as ken is confident they pull the goofiness out in each other.
tldr: ken went from weird looking gagman to cavalier heartbreaker. bbuing bbuing~~
Lol Ken didn't do ps around LE he did fillers (or smth) to his nose in 2014, and that was the beginning of his confidence rise tbh. He fell of the radar a bit between VD and Eternity, and re-appeared with a slightly different (yet still big) nose. He and Hyuk did lasik before LE though (sorry for all the edits I am on my tablet and it's a pain!).
tried to watch the upper half of their bodies but after every replay.. my eyes kept straying to their legs & the Chabooty..*sigh* and I love that costumed dance vid a lot since they all looked like they were having fun

Date: 2016-05-12 04:05 pm (UTC)i love the dynamics in vixx tbh! even the one pair whom i don't think gets a lot of airtime (ravi and hyuk) have a clear dynamic between them. it's so easy to see how they deal with each other and that's much easier to follow than a band where there are more than three or four cliques and there's always someone mad at someone else. vixx just fights it out and moves on, lol. it's ideal.
btw, is there a translation for that radio show yet? it's the one without hakyeon and ken, right? (where exactly were they...?) or is it the one they went to all together (sukira?)

Date: 2016-05-14 03:19 am (UTC)hyuk: grew like a weed, lol. besides being satan, he's probably the largest member of vixx now and has abs (that we have officially seen - thanks, seize it to live promos.) manhyuk started during on and on, but during the eternity promos he went on the offensive and now he's huge and sometimes manly and devastatingly handsome. it frightens everyone. he was recently in a movie and, from what i've seen, he basically played himself except with more 19+ swearing. i'm sure he loved it. chained up happened, that was... whew. he is still addicted to anime tho, bless. he's also friends with apink's namjoo now! unexpected but adorable tbh.
he's drifted a bit from hongbin, i think? they still have shenanigans together (they're still as conspiratorial as fuck when you stick the two in a room with a camera), but mostly i see hyuk and bean in a trio with ken or just hyuk with ken more often than not. they seem pretty attached at the hip. he and ravi had a ridiculously good duet on their boys record album you should check out right now. recently, he ranked the members from least to most teasible and the order was: hakyeon (because he loves the attention), bean, ken, ravi, leo. it seems like, at some point, hakyeon gave the reins of leo-wrangling to hyuk and hyuk has been doing surprisingly well with the responsibility. hyuk is a huge bully now and will flip over any of his older bros without any provocation (leo included), but he's actually very patient with leo and it's done wonders for leo's character. they seem to bicker in a much more pleasant way, and leo often huddles next to hyuk for no reason. it's cute.
anyway, hyuk's main gesture of affection toward his older bros now is randomly grabbing them and spinning them around. he may only get huger and more dangerous in the future.
bean: much more vocal these days. oh my god, he's a piece of shit. i kid, he's still nervous and not much of a risk taker, but he's gotten... weirder? he's an acceptably skilled communicator now - he was hiding a razor sharp wit under that pretty face - and he's completed a stint as a host for the show last year with minimal hand vibrations. he does a lot of the introductions for the group these days along with ravi and hakyeon. sang a cover of falling slowly that was either over or underhyped depending on who you ask but 1. he definitely needs more practice and 2. he DEFINITELY needs more lines, his voice is gorgeous. we've recently confirmed that he's the resident neat freak in the dorm and will end up cleaning if left to his own devices. he was in a drama which was only okay but apparently he did a decent job. he's still close friends with gongchan of b1a4, and is apparently in a group chat with gongchan, exo's suho (or someone i don't know exo oops), and bts' v. v says that no one says anything in it and it's a little lonely.
leo's always had a soft spot for bean and i think it's still alive. it's quiet but i think they've always enjoyed each other's company, hongbin appears to really enjoy goofing around at leo while he stares approvingly. rabean seemed dead since midsummer last year until ken started chasing leo and now it seems like they've been talking again. hongbin was wearing the promo t-shirt for ravi's solo in the cctv practice, which is a good sign. bean and ken don't seem to talk much in front of the cameras but apparently during breaks when they all go back to their hometowns, he and ken don't visit their friends in town and instead walk to each other's houses and go out to eat. ken is also usually present (along with hyuk) when bean does odd shit (and he has been doing a lot of low key weird shit lately - making funny faces with his ridiculously huge eyes and mouth and playing odd games in the background, but more often and obviously than before). bean and hakyeon... still have their catty leader-most-disagreeable-member thing going on but they work well together and are honestly a good pair.
mostly, i think bean's come out of his shell and it's been catastrophic since. all he does is COMPLAIN

(his hair during those promotions was both godly and really hilariously bad). he's been sticking to vixx like a limpet. the only person he won't cling to is hakyeon (who recently locked him in a full body hold he pretended not to enjoy). he's been glued to ken (replace every "handsome hongbin" comment he's ever made with "cute ken"), but ken's been trying to cling to leo, who doesn't cuddle as hard as ravi does. ravi's devastated by this (but not discouraged). i think life has been rough on him since the chained up era started, he's been much quieter outside of his required (still rambly) introduction/spokesman duties. recently a hip hop show he'd been slated to attend fell through. he took it well but he just seems down. hakyeon and leo have been stepping it up during the dynamite promos to make sure that he gets heard, and they seem to be doing a lot to encourage him (hakyeon's been getting on ken's case for ken + maknae line's recent game of interrupting ravi while he talks, leo has been doing a lot of quiet repping for ravi). it's nice, i think ken and ravi have switched positions in the age split in vixx.
tldr ravi is still the gentle shy giant with a raging libido and a thirst for cuddles you remember. he needs more cuddles.

Date: 2016-05-14 04:13 am (UTC)leo's lesinset everyone on earth by now (except me) and the world is out to boost his confidence. he's realized that and is confused but delighted. his cat and mouse relationship with n seems to have eased now that hyuk is leo's minder; they're pretty chill now. he and ken have been cuddly, it's weird. he and hyuk have also been cuddly, it's weird. he's been staring deeply at ravi. he and hongbin are still tight. everything is pretty much the same except leo is much happier and confident. (i think you should already know about his over-competitiveness, but it's been visibly ramping up - it's great, he's a brat.) he's taken up pushing ravi into the spotlight and making sure he's seen and heard. beautiful liar was under a year ago, ravi was the spokesman back then. what a reversal.
he's been biting and licking the other members. and the camera. (i blame sunggyu.)
tldr same guy but smiling more and softer. a good look.
hakyeon: mother leader. look at his 4things episode if you haven't already - there's a ton of info about him and his relationship with the rest of vixx that's still relevant. he's been calming down, as you've noticed, but while part of it is him settling a little, he's also genuinely pretty tired. he's done a lion's share of publicity over the past couple of years. a lot of the time vixx jokes about him being glued to the couch sleeping or watching tv when they see him at the dorm. (they're still living together! they moved into a different place, the only thing that is confirmed is that hakyeon has his own room and hyuk and ravi are no longer in the same room. we've named some of hakyeon's ikea furniture.) this means he's been making a ton of friends outside of vixx, but for a while sort of seemed like he was drifting from the rest of vixx. things seem a lot better now, tho. among his more notable friends are lee wongeun and jisoo from the drama sassy go go, eunji when they were on the same variety, and suju's ryeowook (were you around for girls, why? he's friends with okdal too).
since he's been gone so much, the members still respect him (and he still clings like a leech), but it definitely seems like he's taken a step back and is more interested in watching them play than joining in. he's been quietly supportive of ravi and ravi's the only one who consistently stays still enough for hugs. he and hongbin make a good team and seem to have about the same relationship (contentious but good). hyuk is a shit and does not love his mom (yet hakyeon's only one who can still strike the fear of god into his heart) (also he apparently asks hyuk to marry him every day?), he and ken still have the same kind of outgoing energy, and leo and hakyeon are leo and hakyeon, but older. there's much less of hakyeon literally dragging leo in front of the camera and more of them communing with each other. i honestly think that hakyeon being away so much has improved his relationship with leo and deteriorated everything else. they all still get along with him though, teasing aside, and hakyeon will never do anything less than love them. that's just the way he is.
tldr soft hakyeon. very shh. still fab.
other things: ear tugging/touching, biting/licking each other, neckscratches, leo is ravi's cute hamster now, was hakyeon's cute hamster before, and now literally everyone is calling him a hamster. i think he's accepted it by now.
also please look up big byung, hyuk and hakyeon rap and, with sungjae and jackson, saved kpop.

I don't think Hyuk drifted from Hongbin, they're still as close as ever but he's gotten much closer and comfortable with the other members too like he totally isn't scared from Leo anymore (no one is, Leo's death glares do not have the same effect anymore, at least in front of the camera since he's still called the disciplinarian behind the scenes). He respects his hyungs a lot but does not shy away from messing with them. Hyuk has been friends with Namjoo for a long time already (95-line), it's not a recent thing. VIXX in general have quite some female freinds. Hakyeon and Leo are known to be close to Eunji. Leo is befriending almost all noonas at Mata Hari musical, lol. Ken is very close to Hani; they have an official duet together and even nicknames, those two are so adorable, like real siblings. Ravi is close to Bomi apparently and Hongbin is close to Woori from Rainbow for example.
I wouldn't say Ravi is quiet. He likes talking, a LOT ^^ he just thinks he's not that good on variety. I remember his worry when he and Leo became LR bc they're both 'boring'. Though his exaggerated reactions are often priceless XD. I think the reason he talks even more now, introductions and such is bc Hakyeon lets him take over a bit of that burden. Hakyeon used to do most of the talking (Ravi actually always did some parts but just not as much), now he puts more responsibility on the members who have become more comfortable. Ravi is the kind of member that can't contain his messages in simple tweets and often puts long essays on fancafe. Oh, don't forget Ravi's friendships with exo's kai and shinee's Taemin, he's been spotted with them already more than once and even called them on a radio show where they trolled the hell out of him, lol. He gained quite a lot of friends in the hip-hop industry too, some of them helped on his mixtape.
I don't get where you got the assumption that Ravi and Hongbin have been on a standstill? Hongbin has been away filming for a lot of time, he missed a lot.

Date: 2016-05-14 06:36 pm (UTC)Hakyeon's friendship with Hongbin also goes a very long way. More than once Hongbin almost quit trainee life and Hakyeon is the one that pulled him back each time. They're very consistent in how their friendship shows, lol and somehow they're always the ones getting in the same team. Hongbin might bicker against but his respect for Hakyeon goes miles deep. You notice their friendship in small things. Also Rabean like to cling to Hakyeon in winter periods bc his hands seems to very warm ^^. Hongbin though, always remains a bit of mystery. He's become more open but you still can't figure him out completely. He's more of a mystery than Leo even.
Hakyeon indeed did a lot of work last year but part of that is bc he's as stubborn as a mule and a true workaholic. When he sets his mind on things, even Jelpi can't put him off the idea. The period just before CU era was extremely hectic and I think he learned from it, which results in him having been a lot less busy in comparison. Though you see he misses radio a lot. Otherwise, he remains as self-confident as ever, no one can beat that.
In case of Ken, it definitely were those musicals. The Cinderella effect if great. He gets this 'princely aura' when he gets serious. There must be sth special about those kissing scenes ^^. He's still a puppy, the happy vitamin of the group that everyone loves. When he's not there, he gets constantly mentioned and you visibly see that everyone misses him. He's still loud, but he has toned down that potty mouth of his a lot (except when he gets a bit too comfortable).
VIXX have a very brotherly bond as they'd also like to call it themselves. They're not shy to admit that they have big fights, especially when a new comeback is around the corner, and that there even might be some crying (most fans think it's Ravi, he's a cry-baby, lmao) but most importantly, they make up really fast, like real brothers. They fight but can't stay mad at each other too long. I really like that honesty, no fairy tales about the perfect friendship where no one ever fights and they get along all the time. Even when their dorm contract expired, they still decided to keep on living together and moved to another one. I think they all have their separate rooms now. I'd like to think they've grown even more close since they know each other even better now, are settled in more and have grown as men too.

And he is superhardworking student, he did his associate degree in 3 years, like all his classmate (he took study leave for Moorim though, poor kid has barely seen Vixx for almost 6 months because that drama didn't finish filming before NY as was promised. That's why there had been little interaction between him and other members until Dynamite). Hongbin is also the member with weakest health, his cleaning addiction has been known since Mydol days, but it and his fitness and healthy food diet are also caused by his health issues as a teen. And I don't know how V wrangled himself into that group chat, but until him mentioning being friends with Hongbin and his bestie no-one had even known they had contact. Hongbin has never even mentioned V, unlike his other friends.

i mentioned that everyone's fallen in love with ken by now - if there were any doubts about whether members were lukewarm about him during the hyde promos, they no longer exist. hakyeon's always loved him (he loves everyone), hyuk lets him get away with everything, bean's still ken's biggest fan, ravi is in danger of breaking ken whenever he tries to tackle him with all of the love in his large body, leo and ken have been super giggly and conspiratorial lately. i'm not sure how but he has the entirety of vixx around his little finger. only hakyeon wakes up every once in a while to pull ken back whenever he's being rude. ken's still a bit out of control - he flipped off ravi on vixx tv and the footage had to get pulled, there are still gifs of it floating around, it's hilarious - but i think we've all realized he doesn't mean anything by it. recently he's been leading hyuk and hongbin around on variety. as long as ken is confident they pull the goofiness out in each other.
tldr: ken went from weird looking gagman to cavalier heartbreaker. bbuing bbuing~~
