-as a result, some of the finer vocal details and harmony work get hidden
-singing is on-point & well-suited for the song (vocal layering pairs up great with her smooth/even tone)
-the beat drags in the beginning, which can sound uncomfortable/draggy
-after listening to her high note adlib 20+ times, it's either a synthetic voice or tiff's real vocals, but HEAVILY processed
-overall enjoys the harmonies a lot, as well as the 80s/90s/modern EDM influenced style
-thinks there may be other title-worthy tracks  (as it is normally with sm/snsd music)

And I've never been a fan of Tiffany's vocals and this song doesn't seem challenging? Like, she's in her dead middle comfort zone the entire time which is boring honestly

I think if she tried even stepping out of that comfort zone, a lot of comments would be talking about how terrible her voice is and posting the same gif of taeyeon or sooyoung taking out their earpiece. LOL.

Can I ask why? This is the first time I'm watching him, and he's like a breath of fresh air compared to the other reaction videos I watch where it's just pm salivating and hardcore stanning and crying (which is cute, but I don't see technical reviews often on youtube.)

basically ive been watching him for a while and at the start i really enjoyed it because as you said it was like a breath of fresh air without ott fangirling and screaming but with time i realised that hes not as objective as he likes to appear. he obviously has musical knowledge but he definitely biases some groups and genres over other but yeah theres more stuff in that thread

maybe my "sfm" was a bit of an over statement but yeah my liking has kind of worn off

I like when he points out some details on the music what I missed. He's def observant (but maybe that's just me in awe at the terms he drops cuz I know NOTHING about music productiion lol) but I watched his review on Taeyeon's I from writing my earlier comment til reading yours and the thread now and even in that video I thought he had a little bit of reservations in openly discussing an objective opinion of it because he had an initial preference for what type of genre he wanted her to sing...? lol I sound like I'm reading into it but I do appreciate that he goes in depth on the music.

Idk if I wanna watch more of his past videos though. Maybe if there are more SM music coming out that I like (mostly another Taeyeon solo lol)

I agree with pretty much everything he said, especially about wishing the chorus had more impact/was more powerful. Subconsciously, I think the dragging tempo bothered me too. I feel like this song had the potential to be great, but with all the flaws just came out OK.

What I cannot fathom is why 'What do I do' isn't the title. Not only is it the BEST song on the mini but it is the only one with an English version. It would make more sense to shoot the same video/song in both Korean & English to double the reach, especially since TTS got two vids for Dear Santa.
