CUBE Entertainment to debut a new boy band



CUBE Entertainment is debuting a new boy band.

On May 3rd, CUBE Entertainment's new boy band, PENTAGON,' will be unveiled through 'M2-PENTAGON MAKER' channel on Naver TV Cast.

Opening of the channel marks the start of twelve weeks of PENTAGON's pre-debut promotion. PENTAGON is going to be the first boy band from CUBE Entertainment in four years, since BTOB.

All of the members will be recruited through channel Mnet's new audition survival program, 'PENTAGON MAKER,' and only those who pass challenges under five different categories, which include performance (singing & rapping), dance, teamwork, talent (sense of humor & showmanship), and mind (personality & attitude) will get recruited.

Jo Jin Ho, who had participated in SM Entertainment's first ballad project, 'SM THE BALLAD,' back in 2010, and Yang Hong Suk, who had participated in 'Mix & Match' as a trainee of YG Entertainment, are also going to participate in the competition.

Furthermore, a Chinese participant named Yan An and a Japanese participant named Yuto will also participate in the competition.

In addition, Ethan, who had appeared on Hyun Ah's TV show performance instead of BTOB's Jung Il Hoon, is also joining the competition.

Other five members are named Kino, Hui, Shin Won, Yeo Won, and Woo Suk will also present intense competition with other participants.

Meanwhile, 'Pentagon Maker' is a new boy band debut reality program, and new episodes will be uploaded on Navter TV Cast channel on every Monday, Tuesday, and Sunday, and the ten members will be decided based on fans and netizens' ratings.

EDIT: ahhh I watched the whole thing and it's indeed a short video.
this format is kind of weird....

well, this format allows cube to debut all of them after all. put them under the risk of elimination, fans get mad and then everyone debuts at the end of the day....

i doubt this show will be good enough to make people stan all of them, but the pentagraph isn't such a bad idea after all

no one got five in their graph because, well, the point of this show is to show their improvement... they will debut when they all get fives

hwitaek is really something else, he won best vocal during his jyp audition. after he left jyp he was scouted by three different agencies. seems like he will be the leader?

it's possible they will debut as 10
i tried to come up with possible lineup with lesser number of members and its hard? i doubt cube will drop foreigners, or jino and hongseok, and hwitaek plus hyojong. they could drop shinwon and changgyu but i'm keeping my fingers crossed for ot10 debut

this show will get pretty messy real quick if they mess up the concept. i think it should be focused on growth and penta-bond but... it's still scripted so they need to fill roles like villain, struggling no-talent that improves, strong leader, someone talented that lacks drive to debut. that all can be seen from the teaser tbh?
5-member lineup is impossible, 10 is the best choice. they could cut like two members but i don't think it would be economical.
